Not a palm expert here and I know what you mean about disaster pillars.....I am still scrapping palm off my table- that stuff is NOT easy to get off either and wiping the pour pots is a joke, a heat gun is my best friend in that instance I have never primed my spooled wicking and have never had an issue- I will say if your using RRD spools you must make sure your threading it in the right direction as that is a directional wick (ask me how I know) 😜 As far as plugs I never used any- I followed TallTayl's advise on the automotive tape and for extra precaution I put a wick sticker over the wick covering the hole and then tape the crap out of it- and to go further I gorilla tape over the automotive tape just to be sure I don't leak again.....had many leaks before the automotive tape and even with it without the wick stickers but I pour it at 200 degrees so its just hot hot hot as far as the crystal pattern you should pour into warm molds and insulate them with paper towel and be sure to pour at 200 or as close to as possible as that is what helps the formation of more crystals with a slower cool and save some for the second pour after you poke relief holes It might be harder to see the pattern without dye, I think the white is beautiful but if you want to see more emphasis maybe try just a tiny touch of a tan or ivory Your pillar looks fantastic....welcome to a new addiction

I agree I don’t buy wax to have to strain it myself because they had a bad batch

If I were a betting person I would bet HTP 83 is going to be a winner winner chicken dinner - that 93 could prove too hot halfway through but zero carbon so far and it looks great 👍 htp lean so it will burn off center - you could try twisting the wick

You really need a respirator once you get used to it you won’t even want to try making without essential oils are super strong when they hit hot wax - stronger than FO, you might still get headaches and even though they are “natural” they can be super harmful as also if you get too much in your system

Never been myself but when I think of Italy I think of smells like strong herbs, olives, lemon, wine and lots of very old concrete brick and wood

Elements has a great grapefruit Sea island grapefruit -votivo type not straight but grapefruit and Mangosteen CS works great in soy - a great seller for me and a mix of seeet and tart

Are you getting headaches while making the candles or in burning them? I know some people are very sensitive to scent and some are to different types of waxes - my sister cannot burn paraffin candles they make her sick literally If your getting headaches while making candles Wear a respirator and you won’t get headaches and you will be protecting your lungs natural fragrance oils would only be found in essential oils and they are pretty pricey for the amount needed to scent a candle but there are many suppliers that carry good quality ones

Power burns are a must in my book- you have to know how that candle is going to do if a customer lights it and walks away for the whole day - exploding glass isn’t fun yellow that does look too big of a wick - I would try the 10 or even a 8 and see if that flame calms and the melt pool doesn’t get quite so deep soy in general seem to need smaller wicks these days and eco are very hot

And cal candle shows coco 83 in slabs not bead form my slabs from c & s were marked coco83 and easy beads was not - so add that to the confusion also

Okay so who said easy beads is discontinued?? And how do we know for sure coco 83 is easy beads as so many people get different answers when asking I’m so flaming mad right now - I want to blood curdle scream - I have worked with easy beads for the better part of a year blending and finding the perfect mix and now I’m reading this BS!!! 😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬 they have been OOS many times on the easy beads but If they discontinue it I don’t even know what I’m going to do I have some calls to make today To see what answer I get

is it cheaper to have an individual like myself send you some? I have tons of CD I cannot use anymore with my wax change I have never used 6006 to know if they would work or not but I think 6006 is supposed to be similar to Clarus 3022 and although I don’t remember how CD performed in my tests with that wax I do remember HTP being a good fit and cd and HTP are very similar- some even say the same wick just a different manufacturer 🤷‍♀️

It’s hard to see in the pictures exactly but what are you referring to as being unsafe? it appears to me and I could be wrong that those are hurricane pillars meaning the embeds are in the shell and won’t burn - the candle inside it will and those are perfectly safe to do I believe - personally never have tried it or burned one before 🤷‍♀️

Buy your wicks from there as well not amazon candlescience has sample packs of all their types they carry

Ikr??? 444 is the worst looking wax and notorious for cracking as well but it does have a powerful punch for soy- I will give it that
