  1. Hi, I’m a few weeks in to my research phase for making candles. Got into this by looking for non-toxic diffuser refills for my home, which led to looking at oils, fragrances, and paraffins and then stumbling across so much YouTube content. Then, yada yada, I’ve invested about $600 in fragrance samples, test waxes, supplies, containers. I plan to try making my own soy-beeswax-coconut blend OR hopefully finding success with one of the Cargill Nature Waxes. I welcome any advice for this testing stage, especially with: non-paraffin waxes wicks
  2. hi all, can anyone explain why some fragrance oils cause headaches? i've been researching online and found out why but not exactly what ingredient or chemical causes the headache itself... can anyone recommend fragrance oils or suppliers for someone with a sensitive nose? who are your favorite suppliers for natural fragrance oils?
  3. Hello! So I've been researching candle-making and one frustration I've come across is that I see a lot of fragrance -blends- ...whether that be 2 notes or 10, it seems to be really hard to find single note fragrance oils that are as close to natural essential oil scents and perfectly linear. Ideally I'd love to be able to find ONE company, that does organic or at least non-synthetic fragrance oils in all of the scents Mountain Rose Herbs carries, for instance. So, for instance, a juicy blood orange single note, clary sage, french lavender, eucalyptus, bulgarian/chinese ro
  4. I've been researching making my own natural sunscreen using coconut oil and shea butter as a carrier for a few base oils (like avocado oil and red raspberry seed oil) as well as aloe and beeswax. All of the recipes I've found online say to use carrot seed oil, which is an essential oil, although they don't specify this and a lot have pictures of what looks like base carrot oil. (carrot seed essential oil being more light yellow in color and carrot oil being more golden) http://www.carrotmuseum.co.uk/carrotoil.html That's a link to one of many articles that talk about the difference between
  5. Has anyone tried Ingredients To Die For's Natural Hydrating Body Mist? Any recommendations for a body mist base? TIA!
  6. I'm kinda stressing right now. I've been making/selling a a body butter formula that I've made since 2009, and I've never had one complaint! So for some reason, I decided, "Hey, let's check the pH"..............4.3!!! 4.3?! WTH?! I've got a show Saturday morning. Why didn't I think to do this a long time ago? So since I've got a natural formula going on, how can I naturally raise the pH next time? If you have used the product, have you noticed any negative effects on your product (ie: texture, color)? TIA!!! Any advice will help, thank you so much!
