Someone actually made a video suggesting this 😂🙈 your best bet to add sweetness to your scents is a sickly sweet FO like a vanilla or creme brûlée or like Sarah suggested a marshmallow or pink sugar I think Wsp makes a actual sugar fo but I could be wrong on that

Thanks executor of bad ideas for the ideas 😂 Red gasket sealer in my parts is under 5.00 a tube and lasts a really long time- I didn’t think that was expensive 🤔 so this silicone caulking....is that a permanent stick and okay for high temps? I’m not versed in these type of things and went with it based off many on here using it successfully

I use TT’s Amber and Wsp vanilla bean Noel or CC vanilla Voodoo- I don’t have one that’s already blended vanilla amber

You ordered off eBay and they were candlewic wicks? They never come anywhere close to that description you gave buying direct from them -there is a reason why they were for sale eBay 😂

Have you tried candlewics palm1? They call it crystallizing palm which is a little different from candles and supplies glass glow imo - doesn’t crystallize quite the same - maybe it will be similar to your sparkle light

Hi Melio and welcome first one of the most important aspects of candle making is measuring - you have to measure and be consistent or your results will be all over the place and your wicking a nightmare heat temps and pour temps are critical also I would recommend you start over and measure out and weigh your wax, use 6-8 % fragrance oil and weigh it heat your wax to manufacture recommendation- typically at least 175 up to 200 depending, once it’s melted and mixed add your weighed fragrance and dye to the wax around 160 and stir it slowly but thoroughly until you reach desired pour temp then pour into your wicked jars using a combo of soy and paraffin can be tricky in finding that sweet spot of pour temp- soy typically likes to be poured cool and paraffin hot so maybe a good happy medium to start is around 130-140 but make sure it’s stirred well and blended so if your using one pound of wax total you would use .96 (rounded to 1 ounce of FO for 6%) or 1.28 (rounded to 1.3 ounce FO for 8%) You cant just guess at adding fragrance and not know what temp your adding it, if the temp is to low it might be settling at the bottom and not fully incorporating what soy and paraffin are you using? try again and you might be surprised

How about a little pine and bergamot or some tobacco or vanilla and amber, sandalwood or vetiver ...you could make some great woodsy men’s cologne type scents with that one - may have to put it on my bucket list of oils to try next time I order from them

I mixed glass glow with soy - 415 and it was ugly.....It grew tumors like I never saw before after burn, totally hideous 😂 but it did the job of firming it up! I am not familiar with 6006 but maybe with the paraffin in it you won’t get that look and seeing it’s chunk melts and not candles burning with a flame I would for sure give it a try - might be the next best secret....post some pics for us to see and maybe start with 20%....6006 is kind of soft isn’t it?

Totally agree with JC and TT I personally won’t give them the time of day ever again- they did affect the supply as a direct result of airing out their relationship Skeletons in a very public manner I could care less about their marriage also BUT they screwed a lot of people and then miraculously came back screwing keystone who supposedly paid for their codes, whether that’s true or not again I don’t care - but they are bad bad business imo

Stunning Trapp - love the jars now can someone explain to me why Ball would come out with the the tall 16 ounce regular mouth jar in green- purple and blue but not make the amber in this size???? I have cases upon cases of the colors and have tested them extensively expecting the amber to come out like they said and they have ZERO in the same Size 🤷‍♀️

Ummmm so crazy.... I have been seeing this with some coconut waxes which I believe contain palm....here I move away from soy and run into another brick wall they all have not done this its just a few and it pops up after you think all is fine 🤷‍♀️ And like you said it has a waxy feel to it but mine have a definite FO look and smell as well I don’t get it

I used to use wick stickers and still do for my test candles BUT they are not permanent and do have potential to come loose and slide while burning especially if you get a real hot burning candle - I have heard enough horror stories to now use permatex gasket sealer in all my sale jars - nothing is making that come off and it’s seriously easier and faster to do than wick stickers - you don’t have to do all that pushing down to make sure it’s stuck A small glob is all that is needed and stick it and when it dries it isn’t moving - I haven’t even been able to get them loose with pliers hence why I use the stickers still for all my tests You can find it in auto or hardware stores and it’s red in color and not expensive - found out about it on here somewhere in a thread

I guess it depends where your at for shipping cost but candlewic hands down has the best most consistent wicks out there imo I switched to them After NG cd wicks changing tab height and most of them would pull off the tab when I went to straighten and pull them tight flaming has good wicks also but I have only bought eco there - you might have a hard time finding all those sizes and heights needed with one supplier so one way to look at it is if CW does have them all....is it cheaper than 3 places shipping your paying?

I would guess it’s a CD, ECO or HTP wick and the soy could be anyone of the soys on the market - i agree with KK that it does look old - many soy will powder and become brittle like that after years of sitting it cant hurt to ask the Maker but also keep in mind if this is a old candle you won’t be able to replicate it with all the changes in soy now....they all seem to burn and throw very different now

I love vanilla and for me I wasn’t able to find one that didn’t have plastic notes to it or overly sickly sweet vbn has been perfect for what I think a vanilla should smell like....it works fantastic in soy, parasoy, palm and coconut for me it’s worth every penny - I have tried CC vanilla voodoo and I would say that’s about second best for me but it’s a little too sweet in my opinion oob I never noticed an odd or off smell either, wondering if maybe yours got old or mixed up with something else 🤷‍♀️

I actually like candlescience baby powder it smells just like it to me I don’t go through alot of it, have 2 people that regularly request it and I have done flower pot votives for baby showers with it with many compliments on how real it smells

Okay.... you said it I am making my list 😂 these 2 ounce samples I couldn’t resist are heavenly and I want more - well that is if they throw - got them all in wax tonight and that’s a first me as they usually get shelved and forgotten

I would avoid it but that’s my personal own opinion, everyone will have different thoughts on this candle making can and has caused health issues for many people I wouldn’t risk the actual process of making one while pregnant burning them I wouldn’t have a problem with but making is a whole different ball game

Your getting into the wider part of the jar now so the 6 may not be able to consume fast enough I don’t use those jars but trapp has a good suggestion to try double wicking I have been playing with the 16 ounce apothecary....haven’t a clue why it’s been a huge headache but I bought 10 cases on sale so now I’m stuck and I run into the same issue single wicked - it goes beautifully until I get to the widest part and now I’m forced after several attempts increasing wick size with no luck to double wicking it 🙈

I had a 2 ounce bottle of rainforest FO & EO laying around here and poured it in melts the other day - they have several rainforest so I’m not sure which one you were looking at but this one smells like a diluted eucalyptus with a lot of earth I think it’s suppose to be the dupe of aveda rainforest and I used to burn that oil all the time in one of those glass dishes with a tealight and I loved it- has a very strong earthy spa scent to it - time to plop one in my warmer and see if it’s what I remember from Aveda
