  1. Beautiful labels, @Trappeur! Like you, the first label is my favorite, but 3 & 4 stand out, too. For the first label, a rustic black or silver lid would go well with that label. Hope that helps!
  2. Lovely projects, @Barbara AL! I'm a knitter, but I do want to learn how to crochet. That's gonna be next on my list once school is over for summer break. I have an afghan I'm working on for a friend's mom, and I would love to do a crochet border around it.
  3. Great advice and inspiration, @TallTayl! Thank you!
  4. @bktolbert, you are an angel! Thanks a ton!!!
  5. Hello everyone! Does anyone know of a supplier that carries white candle tins? It seems that Papermart might be my only option at the moment. I've never used them but if you have, feel free to discuss your likes/dislikes, etc. Thanks in advance!
  6. Beautiful! I'm a knitter, but I want to learn how to crochet.
  7. I love SG! I use it to clean my deck, my bathroom, my kitchen, everything! I have a dog with allergies, so it works best for me. And I'm not breathing in all of those harsh chemicals. Speaking of, I need to go to Lowe's to buy another gallon...
  8. Oh darn...and I was just getting ready to purchase 6006 from Flaming...
  9. I get mine from Uline. Here's the link: https://www.uline.com/BL_8199/Straight-Sided-Glass-Jars HTH
  10. Looks great! Will the fair be indoors or outdoors? Good luck and tell us all about it!
  11. Hello @Grani L. I have used the Citrus Odor Eliminator, and that was only when I made it for my sister to take back to her apartment. The wax that I used at the time was C-3. Upon making the candle, I recall it being very citrus-y, and I did wonder about about it's ability to eliminate odors, but I never got around to asking my sister how it performed. Then again, she's a stressed-out, aerospace engineering major at GT; she has lots of other things on her mind and is appreciating the ambiance the candles provide. 😄
  12. Absolutely beautiful! I'm so glad you're up and moving about, too. Your decor reminds me so much of my Nanny & PawPaw's house in Arkansas.
  13. Marking my spot because I am dreaming of Italy...
  14. Beautiful candle, @Trappeur! The label design, the lid, and the decor go hand in hand. Also, your new profile pic is gorgeous!
  15. Thank you for that information, @obsessed! Yes, I did trim the wick each time prior to lighting. Personally, I only burn my candles for the recommended 3-4 hours at a time, but I know many customers aren't going to do that as they choose to burn for longer periods. Thank you, @moonshine! That's my fear - exploding glass. I know customers don't trim wicks or only burn for a short time, and so I'm trying to mimic their environment except that I do trim, haha. I plan on pouring two more testers today and keeping them locked away for two weeks. I'm going to use the ECO 8 and ECO 10. Let's hope those are the magic wicks!
  16. They do tend to have crazy flames that are pretty high. When I first lit the wick, the flame was high but then it calmed down. I have some CDs to try also. I read on either Lone Star's or CS's website that some customers were double wicking this jar with 2 ECO-4 or HTP-105, but they were using IG 6006. If I'm not satisfied with the next test, I'm giving CD a try.
  17. I know this is after the fact, but congratulations on your success and your beautiful granddaughter, @GailC! I haven't tried FC's Cinnamon Chai. I may have to order a sample.
  18. @Laura C, you ALWAYS come through with the great resources! I've been looking for black boxes, and here you are with your resources, like a fairy godmother! Thank you!
  19. Hello, everyone! I'm still fairly new to the candle-making world (about three years in, give or take a year). I primarily use C-3 for my wax and I've been taking notes, testing, and reading the board and learning from you awesome individuals 😉. I *think* I've almost perfected my formula. I'm wanting a clean burn (no wax residue on the sides), minimum to no mushrooming, shorter flame, and great HT. I'm testing in FC's 12 oz. Elite jars (similar to the Libby status jar, I believe) using FC's Sandalwood Vanilla and the ECO wicks. I don't remember the amount of FO off the top (gotta check my notes when I get home this afternoon). The candle I tested for the jar this past weekend had an ECO 12 wick. The first day I burned it for 4 hours, the next day (Saturday), I power burned for 10 hours, and yesterday, another power burn at 10 hours. I'm satisfied with the HT; since it's C-3, I'm aware that the HT isn't going to be a great as paraffin, but it was still a nice background scent that filled an open living/dining area. The flame is higher than I would like (or is that just me?) and that the wick does mushroom, so I'm gonna try an ECO-10 wick. to see if that resolves those issues. Here are the pics from this weekend. Pic 1: After a 4-hr burn. You can see the line where the wax started, the melt pool, and the flame. Pic 2: After a 10-hr burn. Pic 3: Same timeframe as Pic 2, just a different angle. Pic 4: Yesterday, after a 10-hour burn. You can see the mushroom. For the next tester, I'm gonna stir even more slowly to prevent the tiny air bubbles, use an ECO-10 wick to see if the mushroom occurs, and to get a shorter flame height Thanks for all of your awesome advice! YB
  20. Great work, @Forrest! Thank you for sharing.
  21. Ooh, so pretty, @Candybee! And ditto everything @Laura C said!
  22. I don't have business cards yet, but the ones posted are nice. And I like the idea of a square business card.
