  1. I got my Apple corer in earlier this week and used it to replace some wicks! Thank you for that tip! I see you mentioned it in the second video, but it was not so easy for the glass glow palm. I twisted it down and it pretty much just shaved the wax. I went ahead and swapped wicks, but lost a lot of the wax. Just put the shavings back in the hole and Had to heat gun it quite a bit to fill in the rest. Not sure if that altered my test results. But, I’m mainly testing C1 right now. Just wanted to see how the corer worked on palm.
  2. After reading this thread I had to check them out too! I’m going to have to put my order on hold until they get more Green Cactus in stock.
  3. Thank you for the detailed explanation. That makes sense.
  4. I’m confused. With soy you want a quick cool, so why do some of you use heating elements during the cooling process? What am I missing?
  5. After you pull them from the mold. Or, if doing clamshells, it will bead on top of that too.
  6. I use feather palm. It can hold more fo than glass glow which is a container wax. (Syneresis) I’ve pushed the limits with soy wax years ago but I couldn’t give exact details. I know I used the old EcoSoya Piller Blend, but not sure what other waxes I used at the time.
  7. I have not used that wax, but I have found a lot of waxes to hold more than the stated max load when it comes to melts. Just experiment with different fragrance loads to see if it needs it, if it can hold it, and if adding more oil changes the final smell of the product.
  8. I agree. If you’re doing something they can’t buy from you individually there is no need to discount. However, if you are packaging things that they can buy individually, I would discount it. If if you can’t do the whole box exclusive, it would be best to offer at least one item that is. Not sure I would discount more than 10 or 15%.
  9. Wait a minute. They’ve already cancelled their “we’re closing” announcement from like a month ago?!
  10. That’s good to hear. I have never worked with them, but am interested in trying it out because no one uses them around here.
  11. How is the C1 testing going for you guys? I have 6 testers curing now and impatiently waiting for my first trial run. What is your favorite wick series with this wax? I have six different series going. Anyone tried wood wicks with it?
  12. Thank you @TallTayl . This post is very timely for me. ❣️
  13. I made some soy candles and let them cure 2 weeks. I remelted them down to change out the wicks. (Going to get an Apple corer thanks to @TallTayl) I also added a bit more fragrance oil. 1/2 ounce for 50oz of wax. How long should I let these set up before testing again? Are they good to go, or do I need to cure them another two weeks since o added more oil?
  14. I love the “pet seal of approval “!!!
  15. I would say the 2 prints on the boat, but since there is already a paw print by the clinic name , I choose the one print by the fragrance name.
  16. I’ve been mentioning it a lot, but check out Apple Butter Pumpkin from LS. That may be a good starting point.
  17. The creme brûlée smells like laffy taffy to me OOB. Very heavy banana scent. So i poured it in wax. Still smells like banana. Im still waiting on it to cure to see how it will smell melting. Is it possible I have a miss labeled bottle? Has anyone worked with Creme Brûlée from FB?
  18. I can’t speak for soy, but I get a great hot throw in feather palm at two weeks.
  19. I’m sure a lot of you know this. Heck, I knew it. Just didn’t think about it. When i I moved into my new house 2 years ago we did a lot of renovations. So we used cheap air filters because we had to change them out every day. There was so much dry wall dust and everything else in the air. When it it was done I still had a bunch of those filters left so we kept using them. During that time my wax melts were filling up the whole house. Then, at some point they weren’t. Ive been stressing out for a year about my product because the scent is only filling up one or two rooms. Customers are still raving about it and coming back for more. But I’m stumped because they aren’t that good for me. They are still saying it fills up their whole house. So I’ve been trucking along thinking it’s my sinuses. Then the light 💡 goes off. At some point we switched back to the super duper filters that filter out everything including “odor molecules “. We we ran to Lowe’s today to buy a cheap one to put in and guess who can smell her wax melts all over the house again! I guess i will keep these on hand for my testing days!!! I just wanted to post for those that don’t know about this or those that, like me, forgot. And its something to keep in mind when talking to customers too. They definitely don’t think of that.
  20. That’s a great comparison! And how I figured it worked. Oh, how I would love to have that!!!
  21. That is interesting. So, how does it work? Putting wax, dye, and fragrance in at once. How does it mix right there in the candle? Maybe because it injects it into the wax stream as it comes out? Color me intrigued!
  22. Theres not a lot of difference between the two sizes. You’ll basically be adding a foot to each side of your mock up. You could use that extra space to just space things out, add a price list sign, put out business cards, or add a few more items.
