  1. If you don’t want to print them yourself. What about having a company print them with your company name on the front, that way you could order bulk quantity of that one hang tag. Then do your sticker idea for the back to designate your fragrance. Oh, that’s what you said the first time! Lol!!!! I first read it like that’s all you were going to do...put a sticker on a hang tag. But I see now you said on the back!
  2. Mine too! I spent many an hour shifting things around and printing until it came out right. On the screen it looks way off but they print correctly! Now, when I create a new label, I open up an old one that is calibrated correctly and re save as the new label. It’s only a hassle now when I am working with a new label- new dimensions.
  3. States vary I think. In Texas you would be required to collect and remit sales tax. I would bet that you do, but not sure 100%. You need a bit more than a simple google search for that one!
  4. Onlinelabels.com has cardstock tags so you could print your own as needed. I’m sure other label companies have them as well but I order from them because they have a great price, fast shipping, always send coupons. And you get use of their printing program if you don’t have one you use already. I think printed would would look better than putting a sticker on a hang tag. https://www.onlinelabels.com/cardstock.htm
  5. You would technically be under the same guidelines as a full time candle business and would need all the licenses and permits the state requires. Candybee just responded and I didn’t think about the hobby aspect. If this is a one off thing, that may be an option to get you around having to register a business. Of course, that wouldn’t get you around liability issues if someone were looking to sue.
  6. All 1oz oils are half off!
  7. If you’re interested in ordering from Candle Science, they have some good spa/clean scents. I highly recommend Black Sea, Blood Orange, Coconut Bamboo, Peppermint Eucalyptus, and Caribbean Teakwood.
  8. Really depends on what type of scents you like. You’ll be testing a lot, so might as well get scents you won’t mind smelling all the time! I really like spa and aquatic fragrances, so I have more of those than anything else. Some people have tons of florals, others have a lot of bakery scents, and still others have more exotic/ masculine scents. But, generally speaking, I would say Vanilla, Apple, and Cinnamon are good starter scents. They are generally crowd pleasing and good selling scents.
  9. There is a thread on this topic in the business section. We will probably be seeing all sorts of price increases this year.
  10. I’ve actually never seen or felt a tin candle in real life. So, I wasn’t sure if they were heavy duty enough to ship in a padded bag. Even in a box it’s got to save some shipping money.
  11. That is something that’s been on my mind. When shipping tins, do you ship in a padded envelope or bag?
  12. @PINKT @MarkM How did the testing go with the Elite 200? I just poured one and will sit on my hands as it cures.
  13. Will it still burn well? If so, now you have discovered how to make Walking Dead themed candles!! Yessssss!!!!!
  14. I am so envious of your new building!!! I have a small building I can clean up for candle making. But I have to get it rewired and it’s not as close to the house as I’d like. Congratulations to you!!
  15. I will be adding candles to my next event in August and trying to figure out which scents I want to bring with me. Is it too early to have fall scents? I have plenty of variety to take with me, I’m just wondering if people will be ready to shop for those type of scents or if I can/should save those for the Sept-Oct events.
  16. I love it. I’m adding candles this summer and have been thinking about displays. I transport in an economy car and even with my awesome ninja like jenga skills, I’ve been wondering how I would fit proper displays in my car. Something like this may work! Thanks for sharing.
  17. @TallTayl I’m surprised you say NG Absinthe smells like gumdrops. They describe the notes to include: star anise, fennel, cinnamon, woods, and amber. To me it is nothing but woodsy and herbal! Do you have another that you find more woodsy and herbal bc I would love to try it.

  19. You may be able to find that info on Ecosoya’s website. I think, generally speaking, it’s usually 1-2 years if kept in optimal conditions. And that’s a ‘best buy’ date more than an expiration date. So, the wax may still make a good or decent candle but not as good as when it was within that 1-2 year time frame. I also have some old PB wax but mine has been opened. It is probably....7-8 years old!
  20. Right?! I’ve never heard of that word being associated with candles. Just the slang version.
  21. At least that one is scented! This one is knot: 😂
  22. Thank you so much for the photo @pughaus!!! Those jars are so beautiful. Everything on the dream vessels site has been out of stock for months. At least every time I go to check it out.
