  1. Wanted to be clear the one from Natures Garden is really great. The one from Lonestar was not good for me.
  2. Butternut Pumpkin was the only pumpkin I used for many years. People loved it and I sold a lot. When sitting next to Pumpkin Souflee and Drunken Pumpkin people don’t like it as much. Its not a bad one to have for those that like pumpkin without all the spices and pie crusts and such. It’s a nice clean pumpkin and squash fragrance. I haven’t put the pumpkin seeds and aud in wax yet. Wasn’t floored by it oob.
  3. It is a night blooming flower that is used a lot in perfumes. Google what does tuberose smell like and you’ll want to try it! Not perfumy to me. A very elegant floral.
  4. I like florals, not crazy about them, and I don’t like when they’re too perfumey or powdery. French Market seems to be a crowd pleaser because it has all the popular floral notes: gardenia, roses, magnolia, and tuberose. Speaking of tuberose, NG has the best tuberose fragrance! Midnight Tuberose. It’s a very high end floral scent.
  5. I am using one style jar for all scents. But, I have seen companies, big and small, use different jar types for different fragrance types. Or even wax types.
  6. @Daisymay66 I listed some for Belinda earlier. Definitely try the apple butter pumpkin. They introduced a lot of pumpkin fragrances last fall. I bought samples of all of them. French Market is my favorite floral fragrance ever. A nice blend of many flowers and not perfumey at all. I’ve used it in soy, paraffin, and palm with success.
  7. @Daisymay66 I have only tried it in feather palm for wax melts. It threw really well and was one of my best sellers this winter. When people said “I don’t like pumpkin” I would ask “Do you hate it?” If they said no, I had them smell it and everyone loved it! If people who don’t like pumpkin will buy it...I say that’s a winning fragrance!
  8. Lonestar has it and it is divine! It’s pumpkin with coconut, maple bourbon, clove, and toasted oak.
  9. @Belinda I’m 3 hours north of you in Marshall, Tx. Right over the state line is Shreveport, La. @Sarah S yeah, I didn’t have much luck early in my candle career with NG oils. Mostly I didn’t like what I chose. Maybe it’s me and not them! I have much better odds picking oils I like with other companies. What really irks me with them is that *every* single oil is strong and works perfectly in every wax application. With thousands of oils, that’s just not possible. So, how can I believe anything they say? I digress. As as far as the leather going bad. Maybe it was the bottle. Maybe my application. Maybe my storage over the year. I don’t know. I’m just taking precaution to not have so much of that on hand.
  10. @Belinda yes I live in Texas! I love their leather. But it’s the only scent that has gone bad over time in my wax. I have some about a year old and it smells sour almost. It’s the only fragrance to do that to me. I just make smaller batches of it now. Im glad I found the honey Lavender because I can’t stand Lavender at all! The honey really smoothed our the bitterness of the Lavender. It’s one of my favorite fragrances!
  11. @Belinda @GailC @Trappeur @Sarah S @moonshine @aptommo Thank you you for your replies. I see a lot of you mentioned lemon pound cake and iced lemon biscotti. I have been using lemon poppyseed by Nature’s Garden and I really like it. You get the lemon and the cake batter notes. Have any any of you tried that one to compare to the ones you have suggested? I’m trying to keep my supplier list down as much as possible but if there is a better lemon scent out there, I’ll bite the bullet and do what I have to do!
  12. @Belinda that is the only blueberry fragrance I have tried. I got it based on the great reviews and that it is a year round best seller for them. I liked it so much I never tested any others. I also use their leather and butt naked. I’m going to try their Apple cinnamon on your suggestion. I was not impressed with their baked apple pie. My other favorites from Lonestar are: French Market Honey Lavender Gelato Olive Leaves Ginger and Lime Sea Petals Drunken Pumpkin Creamy Vanilla White Nectarine & Pink Coral Hansel & Gretals House Amaretto Its kind of hard to think of them all because most of them I change the name and I can’t remember what the original is called! Whatever they call their Fresh Cut Roses or Rose Petals is spot on for roses. And strong! And the Apple butter pumpkin that was added last year was great! I put it in wax to test and was going to order more to add this past fall/winter but they stayed out of stock. So I will be buying some this year.
  13. If I only poured stuff I like I would have a very limited collection of fragrances! It’s not that they don’t smell good to me, it’s just I wouldn’t burn them myself over spa type fragrances. Reminds me of @aptommo‘s situation with the peppermint bark. People liked the smell but didn’t purchase it. Everyone is pretty much suggesting the same type of fragrances: lemon, blueberry, cinnamon, vanilla, pumpkin, caramel. That’s pretty much what I was thinking, so it’s good to know I’m on the right track with what’s popular. @Belinda I see you get some oils from Lonestar. I have their blueberry cobbler which I think is fantastic. I see your blueberry choice is the cheesecake from CS. Have you tried LS blueberry cobbler?
  14. Wow, those.two pics look a lot alike. Maybe @ChadM you were sent the 4794?
  15. No question. It’s been a long time since I’ve worked with waxes that needed to cool before pouring. Holy cow!!! I forgot how long it takes!
  16. @moonshine I am the same way, that’s why I asked!! Im not a huge fan of the foodie smells so I want to make sure I carry the types that are most popular. @aptommo I love peppermint bark but have had zero interest so far. People loved it years ago when I made candles, but I can’t give it away now. 😕 @GailC thanks for your input. That really helps.
  17. I love that picture in the second label!!! It makes a great label. But, I’m thinking like you that the first one works well for an ace hardware.
  18. If you could only carry 5 bakery/food type scents, what would you choose? Vanilla is a given on the list. But, what else would you put on it?
  19. Another vote for #3 and second the 1st with the white font. Great looking labels!
  20. @Peggy T yes that was a pain in the you know what trying to get the right drill bit. But now that I have it I’m good to go! They dont tell tell you that part on the online tutorials!!!!
  21. Yes, it’s a nightmare. My wax went up $20 a case a few months ago. Shipping rates have gone up for everything I order.
  22. I added a spout to mine. It comes out so fast no heat is lost when pouring into a warmed pour pot.
  23. I ordered samples from Natures Garden then switched to CandleClamshells. One of the sites used to list a pour temp up to 180. Neither say that now. But, that’s why I decided to give it a try. Edit: I was wrong about Natures Garden. It was Candle Science and they still say their clamshells will take up to 180 pour.
  24. I have successfully poured at 180 in clamshells with no damage. At 185 the corners start to dent in a little. I guess that that depends on the brand of clamshells too.
