  1. Great question @xxxAlpha71xxx! Hopefully people will chime in with their tricks because I can’t Center a wick to save myself! And my wick centering tool isn’t any better than me eye balling it.
  2. Straight Sided Glass Jar
  3. Are you using one wick or two? Usually need to double wick a 4 inch container.
  4. I agree @Clear Black. Would be much easier for most of you’re not including the scent name on that label.
  5. Right?! I see in the FAQ that the minimum order is $200 and there is a $5 file prep charge for quantities under 500.
  6. The 2 recommendations I can remember were from Candle Science as a stand alone oil. And the one from Community Candle that blends with any fragrance oil to make any fragrance an odor eliminating candle. I sampled the one from CS and it does work in wax melts. Haven’t tried it in a candle yet. I will be sampling the one from CC later this year.
  7. One thing you could add to the About Me section is the story behind your business name!
  8. Thank you so much! I will check them out. And I know nothing about the different file formats. Good thing I have someone to help with that! Was it just a slow turn around on your first order or is it slow with every order?
  9. I was just doing a search for printing companies and came across something interesting. I haven’t ordered from them or really spent much time on their site, but I thought many would find this interesting. “Since everything is done digitally, you can mix and match different scents all within the same order without paying for multiple runs. Our technology also allows us to act quickly, providing turnaround times on candle tags and labels in three to five days after your artwork is approved.” https://www.bluelabeldigital.com/products/candle-labels/
  10. I have the spot UV on my business cards- I love that type of finish! Edit: if you don’t mind sharing, I’d like to know where you got your labels printed. When I got my business cards in I said I would love to have labels like that. Just didn’t know it was a possibility.
  11. Sorry @CandleRush that I didn’t see this. But I know you asked the question in the other thread! Did you order any?
  12. Okay, @Clear Black, your product and label design is off the charts awesome looking! The Etsy page looks great. Amazing job! At first glance I can’t offer up any suggestions.
  13. Haha! I do that too. Still have samples from Candelwic that are ten years old! So, I can’t say anything!! 😂
  14. I was wondering that too about the phthalates.
  15. Bringing back an old thread! @Belinda what’s your review on the fragrances you tested? Or anyone else that gave them another shot?
  16. I concur with the above posts. 11 oz candle in a beautifully painted jar- I would charge $40-48. And more if your market will have it. But I would not go under $40.
  17. I got started 10 years ago with candles. At that time I was only ordering from Lonestar and Natures Garden. When I picked back up a couple of years ago I noticed the oils smelled weaker oob and in product. My first candles you could smell 5 feet away the instant I removed the lid. Not anymore. I knew nothing about candle making back then. Didn’t have access to any sites like this. Just followed reviews on candle making sites, which I now know are often inaccurate. And I made awesome candles! Now, ten years later, with much more knowledge I can’t seem to make a candle worth a damn. How is that possible? My husband and I have been talking about this and laughing/crying (when it comes to the money spent restarting). Changes in wax and the strength of oils is what I think is the difference. Unless all my “knowledge” is getting in the way or I just had a tremendous case of beginners luck!
  18. Is there a tool available to easily cut a slot in a metal lid? I like the idea of a coin slot, but don’t want to use the jars this lid fits.
  19. True! But, if you back out shipping out of that $22 that puts you close to that $12. The $10 for a wax melt clamshell seems the priciest product. Either way, they don’t seem to have a problem with sales. Probably because of their niche product branding.
  20. My suggestion would be for the people selling the candles to take cash only and then either turn cash over to you or write you one check.
  21. The Lonestar 1 oz bottles are half off right now, btw.
