  1. Do you find that the molds last a long while, or do they give up the ghost?
  2. I've tried all three, but in soap, not candles. The Chermark one was quite similar to Brambleberry's which is like WSP's, which is like EBB's, and also like Fragrance Labs. The KY one was good, but a little different. The 3rd one, not KY or CM, was quite a bit different smelling, though it wasn't bad. The one I liked the best out of all the OMH's I tried was the one from Soapies Supplies, the HCS one, not the SS one. But it wasn't "so incredibly better" or anything. Just had it's trip a little more together, LOL. There are still quite a few I haven't tried yet though, including Sweetcakes' which is highly touted. Also haven't tried the one from PFO that Candybee says is the best.
  3. Candybee, did you ever try Sweetcakes' OMH?
  4. http://letitshineusa.com/ in Washington state carries it.
  5. This is interesting. I had no idea. We're on septic too.
  6. Beautiful job! And those bottles look like they're easier to open than most sniffie vials.
  7. I heard that their Margarita is really good --maybe even better than Sweetcakes'. It's on my list to try from them if I ever get around to ordering.
  8. If it's any consolation...I live near Seattle, and we would think we'd been raptured if we got sunshine on any kind of regular basis. Last winter was SO dreary (worse than usual), and this one is turning out to be much the same. Oh, and we get lots of drizzling rain with the grey/white skies too. However, our temps are higher than yours. Still, don't wanna do anything outside when it's so wet and there's no sun (+ cold). I think we all (up here) need to have our heads examined.
  9. Those look delicious! Bet they smell delicious too.
  10. Thanks for sharing this, Candybee. I had no idea there was something herbal you could take to help tinnitus. My son has a mild case of it. You said you eventually stopped taking the Ginkgo...did the tinnitus stay away then?
  11. Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone here has tried using fragrance oils in a diffuser. Until just now when I read a review about someone putting some in their diffuser, I had thought they were for EO's only. Probably a stupid question.
  12. I was recently at Hobby Lobby, and I sniffed a candle there (can't remember the brand) called Lavender Sage. It was very pleasant, and I could smell both scents equally well. I knew I had the Pure Fragrance Oils Lavender Sage at home, and after sniffing it later, I was disappointed that it wasn't near as nice. I think the candle I smelled had more of sweetness to it, and wasn't so "astringent" smelling, for lack of a better word. So, I decided to try and sweeten mine up with some brown sugar FO. Then, I had some Frank and Myrrh sitting there that I'd just made soap with, so I thought I'd put some of that in too. I ended up with a pretty good smelling manly scent. But it was nothing like that candle! Anybody have any ideas for how to sweeten up the Lavender sage besides brown sugar? Is there a white sugar FO out there? LOL. Or maybe I need to start with a really sweet smelling lavender. Is there such a thing?
  13. Yep, that's usually the case. Some places also sell Honeysuckle EO, but there is no such thing. Only honeysuckle Fragrance oil.
  14. Where do you get your lids for the DT jars? I haven't seen any at DT.
  15. Nice! Not often you see amber jars. What kind of lids do they have (can't quite tell)? I'm also curious about how they burn when the wax gets low...being taller jars, does the flame struggle to get enough oxygen or has that not been an issue? I'm a newb at chandling.
  16. TT, did you try the one that OT carries? They don't have a Satsuma, but they do have Satsuma Guava.
  17. Hey folks, Colonial Candle has some good deals right now in their clearance section, plus you can get an extra 25% in clearance this week with the code CleanOut17. Thought this might be of interest to those of you who see the need for some R & D. ;-) Oh, and shipping is free after $30. Among other things, I bought 10 of their "French Quarter" Simmer Snaps (2.4 oz) at only .30 ea. after the code).
  18. Thanks for the update. It's always nice to get to the bottom of a problem like that.
  19. This is so strange---we have burned the Anthropologie Volcano candle and didn't think it had very good throw. And we were burning it in the bathroom. Maybe we got a dud.
  20. Hi Moonstar. Which Lemon Verbena from Lebermuth is the one you like? I see 3 different ones on their site at this time. Also, looks like they don't have the jasmine frangipani anymore. What else would you recommend from them? G
  21. Or, you could have told him you were pouring "Butt Naked" candles and had to do it right.
