  1. I did a search for "skin safe cinnamon", and this was the most recent thread that came up. Just thought I'd mention that I stumbled across one that looks good if y'all want more options for a skin safe cinnamon. WSP has "Cinnamon" that is safe to almost 5% in soaps, "Cinnamon Stick" that is close to that as well, "Cinnamon Candies" that is over 3%, and "Orange, Cinnamon, Clove" that is also in a decent range. Happy soaping!
  2. I hereby nominate Sponie (the Ebi) as Craftserver's official Dollar Tree Scout.
  3. I haven't gotten any notices of sales from here, but someone (was it you?) mentioned that they do have them from time to time. Could you let us know if they have a sale sometime?
  4. Reminds me of the time (when I was about 7) that I saw the bits of chocolate cake (you know, the bits that stick to the pan after you've taken the pieces out), and I scraped it all down with my hands, added a bit of water and rolled it into marble sized balls. Then I went and proudly presented it to my dad as a snack. He was so nice and cheerfully ate them. Doesn't quite measure up to Sippy Cup Eggnog, but years later I'm still cringing for him.
  5. Hi Candybee, I can refresh your memory. You were gonna do your super duper sunflower/OO soap: "I did discover that I like the regular sunflower blended with olive oil combo. The OO helps to stabalize the sunflower and the recipe I developed allows the soap to have a long shelf life. It's extra gentle and conditioning and makes my skin feel so soft. Actually, its one of the recipes I intend to share in the soap of the month thread for the month of Feb 2017." (taken from this thread: You didn't think I was gonna forget now, did you? However, if your super duper oatmeal, goat milk, honey, and aloe soap trumps this one, then by all means do that one instead! We'll actually be happy whatever you choose. :-)
  6. I like the tan one and the last one the best. I do like the darker lettering.
  7. I think all three are just beautiful. I do like #3 the best, and to me it is almost perfect. The only change I'd make is to maybe change the font of "Lavender on Maine" to make it just a tad more 'readable', which maybe translates to a bit less cursive-like. But if you take all our advice it will look really ugly!! So do what looks nice to you and call it good! You have a good eye.
  8. On their website they have a tab up top titled "Black Friday". Just click on that and it lists them.
  9. They are only putting their top 30 selling scents at 30% off. The Pine Boughs and Apples isn't one of them. However, they usually give out one free sample for each pound or 8 ouncer you buy, so you could get a free sample of it by buying a lb. of something on sale.
  10. I think, like me initially, you may have misread her blend. I think it is two separate blends of "Lemon + Magnolia" and "Pink Sugar + Lavender", BUT, I too wonder if they'd be good all together!
  11. That sounds like a reasonable idea Ebi. Quick, you better delete it!
  12. Thanks guys. That's a really good price, but they just aren't big enough. I'm still waiting for WSP to have a big sale, where I can then order their 3 inch, 6 cavity one. And hopefully it won't have a taper.
  13. Same here, just got my package in this afternoon! It all looks great. You've been so sweet to do this for us Shannon. Thank you!!!
  14. I just (a couple days ago) found a mica vendor that looks great. Someone on soapmakingforum mentioned them. I guess she does prebuys like once a month, but her prices beat anything else I've seen! Also, the forum person said they've been tested in soap. When I get low, I'll be trying her out: www.micasandmore.com. She also has a facebook page. I'm particularly pleased that the "Ruby Red" she sells only contains mica and oxides. Not even Titanium dioxide, which I find many have. The fewer the ingredients, the happier I am. I could potentially make a red soap for my cousin who's afraid of TD, for instance.
  15. I also read somewhere that for them to say it's approved for cosmetic use, it has to be tested at each point of distribution. Meaning they can't just order it from a supplier, then repackage and sell; when they get it in they have to send it in to be tested first. That was my understanding, anyway. So this would definitely hike up the price.
  16. I was just looking at that particular advice! So, was it just too much water that ended up being a soup you had to take 7 hours to bake? Would it have worked with less water?
  17. I really don't think they're saying to add actual vanilla extract. Nature's Garden carries "Vanilla Extract" fragrance oil.
  18. Once a month!?! I guess all your shelves are so full of FO's that you have almost no room to store your EO's! Lol....they try to be content, but every EO wishes it was an FO.
  19. Talltayl, if you need to go ahead and order, feel free to do so without waiting on me on this issue.
  20. Sounds like something I'd like to try--can you tell me what it costs? I can only see very little on their site, as I am not a member --not a wholesaler yet!
  21. My guess is the left. Looks like you guys had fun--and your grandbaby is cute!
  22. I didn't see that on the list...how much is it? And what's it composed of?
  23. Candybee! Where are you? Haven't heard a peep out of you in over a week!
