  1. I think you must mean the Vanilla Champagne because I don't see that they have a Vanilla Chardonnay. It sounds really good though!
  2. What's this about a Vanilla Chardonnay? Sounds good!
  3. I have Spiced Gum Drops from Bittercreek--would you say they're just about the same then?
  4. No doubt the seller was getting frustrated and decided to do whatever it takes to grab potential customers' attention!
  5. I can totally see your point about the price of WSP's oils. However, I'd say about once a year they have a sale for about 35% off their fragrance oils. If you buy from them then, and also pretend that you're getting another $2-$3 or so off per pound (depending on how much you buy) because of the fact that they offer free shipping, their prices become as good as anybody else, sometimes better. But I must advise that you have your list all made out and ready to go when the sale hits, because pretty quickly they run out of stock on some of the more popular ones.
  6. How frustrating to go through testing and think you've got winners, just to have them fail in the bigger size. I agree it is NOT right for them to pick and choose what reviews they put up. Sorry this happened to you.
  7. Thanks, TT. I'm pretty sure cosmetic grade is the same as pharmaceutical grade (USP) which falls into the stinky category. I was looking at what TKBtrading.com sells, reading the comments, and someone specifically said they were disappointed that it wasn't flavorless like the Lansinoh stuff. I'm sure TKB's is the same stuff as what bulk apothecary and all the others sell. Someone in the comments of BA's lanolin also mentioned the smell. At Brambleberry's, someone's review of their "Ultra Refined" lanolin reads: "While it still does have an unpleasant smell it's much less than the unrefined." Most people rave about lanolin because of its properties (on all the sites) but turns out it smells like sheep. IF the odorless stuff was available for a reasonable price, there's no way a crafter would choose the USP variety over it. Here's a quote from lisaliseblog.com: "This lanolin has all the lovely, skin-loving properties that lanolin normally provides, but it is not heavy-smelling, sheepy-smelling, or anything else undesirable-smelling.It's scent-free!(insert little happy dance here)Even though I have learned to blend essential oils that work with heavier-smelling ingredients like lanolin over the years, it's always a joy to have a little more freedom. And unscented lanolin is pure unadulterated freedom." She is referring to the aforementioned Medilan lanolin being sold by a company in the UK. Which won't ship to the US.
  8. I am in the process of formulating a lip balm, and I hear lanolin is the bomb. After researching, I've discovered that there are basically two types: 1) the sheepy smelling USP stuff that has more impurities in it and can be found many places, and 2) medical grade lanolin that is pretty odorless and cleaner. The names for the clean stuff are Lansinoh and Medilan. Lansinoh may be using Medilan, not sure--didn't look too deep on that. Well, it turns out that about the cheapest I can find Lansinoh is 1.41 ozs for $6. And Medilan is made by Croda which I guess only sells to the big guys. There is someone in the UK who has managed to get some from them and sells it for a reasonable price, but, sadly, they don't ship to the US. I must say I'm quite surprised that there isn't someone (in the US) supplying this superior product to the small crafter. I saw many people mentioning their dislike of the odor of the regular stuff, and yet, no one is out there meeting the obvious demand for a better product. I should do it myself and make my millions. Well, I don't think there's a source, but just in case, I thought I'd ask all you nice folks here.
  9. Is it just my computer, or has the "Activity" tab at the top disappeared for everyone? Happened either last night or this morning.
  10. Sorry that happened. I'll have to remember that about nettle powder.
  11. Nice job on the rebatching. I did some too, but had to push the envelope and try 50% soap shreds to new oils. So, I'm gonna let them set a while to harden up more before I unmold. Actually, what I had wasn't soap "shreds". It was soap "crumbles". I found out what happens when you don't use a stick blender and pour fairly runny. It ends up like crumbly soft sand! After curing for almost 2 weeks, I could take it and break it up into crumbles. It was actually very interesting...if I broke it up and then continued to massage it, what I ended up with was something almost exactly like playdough! So If I ever need to sculpt some soap, I'll know how to make the playdough for it (assuming I can replicate what I did the first time). I do see the horse; cool
  12. Thanks for posting this! It's just in time for me, as I was planning to do some rebatching today.
  13. Have you tried the Cedar Garland in CP soap? If so, how did it perform?
  14. oooh, so very nice! You are so good at swirling! I am wondering about the mold for the sweet pea, seems the dividers are thicker than others I've seen...would you mind sharing where you got it?
  15. These soaps are all gorgeous. My fave is the cherry blossoms one.
  16. I spent several years living on a coconut plantation, and they never did any pesticiding or fertilizing of the trees. I think the virgin is better for you than the refined, but as far as "organic" don't know that you could buy anything but (I could be wrong). But of course to market it to certain people, org. certification was necessary, but I don't think they had to do anything different for it.
  17. Why throw away a perfectly good bowl? I got one with my order too, 2 years ago. We used it for awhile, but with kids all our bowls break eventually, and so did this one. It's the perfect size and was nice while it lasted. But being suspicious is way more fun. I should've hired a detective.
  18. http://www.moonglowcandles.com/EL-Millennium-Blend-All-Natural-Soy-Wax-50-lb-case_p_35.html Looks like they're in Texas though.
  19. May I ask who FCC is? I'm curious about this Strawberry that you say is better than Sweetcakes'.
