  1. My wax was IGI 1274, which is a mottling wax. I had it laying around and tried it out in some tarts and wasn't pleased.
  2. I think you will find that we all use FOs from a variety of suppliers. Once you find something you like (and that you've tested) you don't really want to mess with it! Some suppliers I use that have given great results: Peak, CandleScience, LoneStar, Natures Garden, The Candlemaker's Store, Tennessee, Aroma Haven, The Candle Source, Bramble Berry, Community Candle, Fragrance Buddy and Wholesale Supplies Plus. Are there some duds or some not stellar performers from these companies? Sure, but overall I think the quality is good and more hits than misses. Hope that helps a bit.
  3. I'm not familiar with these particular scents from LoneStar, but I do use quite a few of theirs and haven't had any issues. I have had weird melted crayon smelling melts in the past (after the scent faded) and that was a wax issue, not the FO.
  4. Welcome! There is tons of info here! So, settle in and peruse the topics. You'll be engrossed for hours!
  5. I changed the name to Rites of Spring and it did alright. Folks like it as a room spray. It's a fave of mine so I keep it around.
  6. The candlemaker's store has a nice vanilla bourbon.
  7. May have to do that then! Enabler!
  8. Maybe it was a reformulation to make it phthalate free? I can't understand why they'd reformulate a perfectly good FO otherwise.
  9. Dragon's Blood is amazing. One of my all time favorites! Kelly Bloom from Southern Soapers now runs Soapalooza.com. I got an email not long ago saying she was getting ready to shut down selling FO, but I just went to the website and Egyptian Dragon was there. Worth a shot if you want to try and get some from her.
  10. I get offers from Aztec all the time and have yet to try them for myself. I may have used one or two of their oils over the years that I received in lots off the classies. Are you happy with their over all quality OldGlory?
  11. Moonworks is very medicinal, too. Which is partly why I'm shocked as to its popularity! I may give Fragrance Buddy a try. Thanks Maryta!
  12. The one I have (that is dwindling) is by Moonworks. It isn't my particular favorite, but customers love it. Where could I get a comparable replacement? Needs to be safe in all applications, as it is a bestseller in soap, candles, room sprays, you name it. I don't get it. I did see one on Soap Goods that was supposedly a dupe, but it's spendy and I've never bought from them before.
  13. Wow! My husband would love an Airstream like that! Very cool idea to have a mobile soapery! Love it.
  14. Did you try The Candlemakers Store? They have a coconut bourbon that I like.
  15. I didn't get any of the ones you mentioned. They said that 1/2 ounce would fragrance an entire gallon of lotion, so I gave 'em a shot. I've only tested the Capri Seaside Citrus so far in my parasoy. They don't give amounts to use, you have to test to your application. I was immensely happy with the ones I chose OOB. I got Capri Seaside Citrus, Amberwood Moss, Forever Red dupe, Old Time Barbershop, Mountain Rain, and South of France. They all smell amazing OOB.
  16. I received my first Bulk Apothecary order and the FOs were amazing! The prices gave me a little shock, but the quality is really good. If it works that I use less per application, it'll work out.
  17. Most of my fragrances are blends. I can't leave anything alone. I always need to add a little bit of something!
  18. Soy was just too finicky for me. I hated the frosting and the moon crater surface of the candles. Then the fact that very few of my testers had any hot throw just pushed me over the edge.
  19. I have the Wholesale Supplies version. It smells nice. Very light, though.
  20. I use a my own parasoy blend that is 60% 464 and I start with a CD 8 in a 8oz jelly jar. I've seen comments on here with folks using a CD 14 to start with those waxes in that jar and I can't even imagine it.
  21. You made some great choices. I honestly have never had a bad oil from them. And if it's one of Kentucky's (KY) that they picked up, then it's bound to be amazing. I absolutely loved all of Kentucky's stuff!
  22. I love it! I used it for years then started formulating my own parasoy blend, but am going back to it again.
