  1. Soy wax is a good wax. I personally don't use it but if that is what you want to use go for it. There are some FOs that do not wax as well in soy as they do in other waxes so you just have to test them out. I have heard a little beeswax can slow burn time down in paraffin so it might work in soy. And yes, the standard it 1 oz for pound of wax but again test, test, and then test.
  2. RE/AH has a Fresh Cut Roses that I think is very good and true smelling. It is body safe but I only make candles so I can't tell you how it does in soap but it is the bomb in palm wax!
  3. BCN's is good. I use it for incense and air fresheners and everybody loves it! Me personally......I gag at the smell of any dragon's blood!
  4. There is one I found but it was a little out of my price range! I think it was $147. It is called Craft Maker Pro! I use excel for now.
  5. I looked on the Brambleberry website and I could not find anything. Where are they?
  6. Is that for glass bottles? That would be awesome!
  7. I used to do it with soy wax. I used the GB 415.
  8. If every state is the same then yes, it is just for equipment. I just included what I depreciate on my federal taxes.
  9. https://www.facebook.com/ezsoywax/?fref=ts Try this link. Also in search it is Bitter Creek (two words) not Bittercreek (one word). I know that always messes me up. Never sure if it is one or two words!!! HTH
  10. Yes they are! But of course they use their formal name of Bittercreek!
  11. Tomorrow is my turn to work at the gift shop I have my products in. A group of crafters from this area have gotten together and we rent a store and share in the rent and about half of us work on certain days. Then Sunday is playing with wax and cleaning my house!
  12. I just saw that BCN posted on Facebook that the are bringing it back! HTH!
  13. I use 1/2 pint square masons and pint jars and I do not fill any higher than right up to the neck of the jar. When I used the 8 oz square masons I only got 7 ounces of wax like you. In the pint jars I only get 12 ounces of wax in them. HTH
  14. Moonstar, sorry but I do not keep that great of notes. I can tell you that if I do notice it, it is usually with the bakery FOs or anything with vanilla. And that is only if I do a power burn of over 4 hours. But now that I think of it when you cook something too long it is going to smell burned. I guess that goes for FOs too! I use Butterscotch Brulee from Fillmore and I have noticed it with power burns.
  15. Wow! $700 a year seems kind of high! I don't know how they figure it all out. I am in Wisconsin and I pay about $350 per year.
  16. Oh sorry! I thought you were making incense! Sorry I cannot give a recommendation on any Amber because everyone I have tried I did not care for!
  17. You should check your usual supplier to see if they have that fragrance. Or google it!
  18. I use palm mostly too! I do use paraffin for my melt shots but I have never seen anything like that. I maybe have seen it but never knew it was called "braining"! I learned something new today!
  19. Ok! I gotta ask!! What is braining?
  20. Fresh Coffee from CS is the bomb! It will definitely wake you up in the morning! I love the smell of coffee but I hate the taste!
  21. LOL! It might take me a little bit! I have to get the right wax. All I have in paraffin is 4786. But when I do I will post some pics!
  22. Well, I have been reading and looking at all of these great pics and I have to say you guys have got me wanting to try this out now! These look so cool! I am always looking for something different to try. Thanks for all of the great tips and the instructions and pictures!
  23. I use premiers from Fillmore and Aztec and if I do notice a burnt smell I think it is coming from the FO and not the wick. Some FOs do that as other people have posted.
