  1. I'm having problems wicking a new batch of 464 in a couple of apple fragrances. Wicks that worked previously are too hot. Tried CD12 as well as wicking down with my Premiers. No hot throw. Stumped; then read a thread on double wicking 16 oz. tins. Has anyone double wicked a Mason or Ball pint jar with Premiers? Regular mouth so 2 1/2" opening. Just have no idea where to start or if two wicks would not work in this container. By the way, the new boxes of 464 have worked out for three of my fragrances with no changes in wicks. Thought I had this licked. Goldie
  2. Athough FB157 brought this topic up in another thread, I thought I would start a new thread about it. I went in search of other posts regarding a burnt smell using Premier wicks and found one from 2006: Until yesterday, I had never noticed a burnt smell; but it was really bad. It was at the very bottom of the jar. Didn't think much about it until I read FB157's post. Anyone else who uses Premiers ever noticed this? I was using Pumpkin Creme Brulee from RusticEscentuals. 3. The saga continues. . . I've been testing 464 in an attempt to get a better hot throw as compared to 415. I'm confused on the pour temp. With 415, I followed instructions to pour at 110 which was the slushy stage. With 464, I'm seeing recommendations from 170 to 135, many again saying "slushy". My 464 is not slushy at any of these temps until it gets to about 100. So should I be pouring when slushy or when the wax gets to a particular temperature? And how does the pouring temp affect the candle? I'm using regular-mouth pint Ball jars, 780 Premier wicks (even though the Premier chart recommends something smaller), heating to 180 then adding 10% FO. Yes, I went to 10% because the last batch at 7.7% still didn't have the throw I wanted. I do wait the two weeks before testing. GoldieMN
  4. I ordered samples from Wick It but am confused when I try to place a regular order. There are no prices and looks like I need to buy 3000 at a time. Someone mentioned buying from Aztec in another thread, but I see they recommend this wick for paraffin not soy which is what I'm needing them for. Is this the same wick? Or is there another company you buy from? Goldie
