  1. I just put in request to Flaming Candle to carry the entire CS range. I have to order from cal candle and it took forever to east coast but I got small size CS wicks in 6 inch lengths. I would write Flaming and make request. These is a difference between a 5 and 7 wick. The in between sizes and small size wick are needed to fine tune a burn.
  2. I am so annoyed. Shipping priority mail packages does nothing. I am hoping fedex comes out with small package rates because USPS is useless. I ordered two things on Etsy and its been over a month and not delivered. Granted the two sellers did not turn around quickly which added fuel to the late fire.
  3. Change diapers often. Change type of diapers. Not unusual for babies to be allergic to types of materials used in paper of cloth. Air out baby, no diapers!
  4. Zinc. Destin is 40 per cent zinc. Barrier cream max. Zinc ointments are white and very thick, but they work.
  5. If you blend those 50 50 you will have a liquid candle in spring and summer. Any blend you test you have to see how they hold up in warm weather. That coconut is not designed to hold fragrance oils, it’s just an additive. You need to test and see how candles burn and hold up in winter and summer. If you want really perfect tops you use paraffin and get hot throw.
  6. I would try every wick you have available and see what burns the best in that wax. It was awhile ago I was playing with it.
  7. I have written CS several times., and guess what no reply! This makes me insane. I cant invest in pounds of fragrances, then add to lines, then have it changed. Nope, nope. Shopping elsewhere for fragrance. The recent sudden death of Blue Spruce that was enough!
  8. I can’t remember which wick series I used. I didn’t like the pull away for what I was working on. I would try CD’s with this as it’s so hard. Maybe cut the wax with some coconut oil if it’s hard to burn.
  9. You have to be accurate with witch hazel amount. If you are off by just a little bit, you will have growth.
  10. Here’s what you need to do. To really fine tune a candle formula you need to do it by percentages to be accurate. Trust me on this. By percentage and weight with additives no by tsp.
  11. I have played with this wax. It’s very hard hahah you need a hammer to break it apart. Containers it will shrink. good for opaque in summer or tins. Could be use for pillars I think. The appearance is nice on the wax very smooth. if you are doing outdoor events summer this is a decent wax.
  12. You can do corn starch but natrasorb hold fragrance really well. If you can live without that and bath bombs don’t have to sit around for long corn starch will do.
  13. You know I have t tried this wax but me thinks it could benefit from only using it in certain types of containers. shorter containers instead of the standard taller. Everyone has trouble wick in this wax. Not all wax is good in taller jars etc.
  14. I would cross them off as supplier. First of all there are great suppliers like Aztec. Aztec sends out updates all the time which I appreciate, without the attitude I get sometimes from CS. If I shipped out like that from WW I would be out of business. That’s not good.
  15. Posted this in fragrance but didn’t get reply. Is Flamings a dupe of Candle Science? I am so annoyed at candlescience for discontinuing this right now, and reformulating at this moment. They have lost their marbles.
  16. I would try and lx wick. I haven’t tried this wax but it seems it’s the equivalent of soft paraffin. Your test candles. Make a half full candle and test burn with wicks there. This will tell you where you should land with wicks with this wax. Ecos I would ditch not enough sizes to fine tune candles. CD wicks burn very hot and high in soft waxes, that’s why you you should try LX.
  17. Problems is soft and you should be able to wick with one wick. If you are going the double wick route, make a candle half full and test double wicks in bottom. Double wicks will burn very fast bottom half of candle.
  18. So Candle Science has discontinue their Blue Spruce to be reformulated. Does anyone know if Flamings Blue Spruce smells the same as Candle Science? This makes me pull my hair out that CS has done this right now.
  19. Ok that’s it. It’s holiday time and they discontinue Blue Spruce. Are they out of their minds?
  20. Natures garden is big on crisco as additive. I used it years ago in my beginning candle adventure. It works but leaves residue on glass and wax burns with yellow color.
  21. Voluspa must use some processed coconut because my coco 92 in very hot weather goes liquid. I will not work with manufacturered coco wax because the blends keep changing, blends are always out of stock, and some are just stupid expensive. Like TT having tried many many waxes, I prefer to make up my own blends using the qualities of waxes I like then combining them. Many people use Crisco for. Emergency candles. Just stick string in and light.
  22. While you wait for other wicks. Try that same fragrance at 6 per cent fragrance load. The candle should behave better. More fragrance oil does not mean better smelling candle.
  23. This could be the fragrance. Some need to be wicked down two three wicks. You don't say what fragrance and stick to 6%- 7% for that wax. You dont need 10% to get good throw in paraffin. If the LX wicks still smoke after adjusting wick and fragrance size, then you need to test other wicks for that wax. You could try htps, CD, or premiers. Get sample sizes.
  24. Forrest, FYI some fragrance oils will eat away at tin and rust! You must test and sit on tins to see which ones do that. Most tins are coated, but some fragrances are caustic to that matierial. This wont happen with glass. Vanillas can do this to tins.
