    Voodoo Love

Soap: fragrance load: 5% CP soap, mix of 40% tallow, 60% veggie oils Discolor: yes, medium brown Accelleration: yes, but workable if you soap cool Morphing: no, scent remained true Fading: not sure, I loved my soap so I used it 😆 Notes: The soap was good, but this fragrance really shines in lotions, body butters, and body sprays. The scents clings to the skin for hours and is divine!

Candles wax used: CBL-125 fragrance load: 7% average cure: 48 hours container: 16 oz jar, 8oz jar wicking notes: had to wick way, way up on this, I ended up not using the 16oz jar because I couldn't get the wick right CT: very good HT: excellent, no morphing Candles: wax used: Crystal Palm wax 1 fragrance load: 6% average cure: 2 weeks container: 16oz jar wicking notes: standard wick was good, didn't need to wick up CT: super strong HT: crazy voodoo strong * I love this FO so much, I am so happy it does so well in Palm wax! Wax melts: wax used: Palm 2, CBL-141, fragrance load:7% average cure: 2 weeks for Palm, 2 days for 141 CT: strong HT: strong* * Slightly stronger in Palm 2, but still awesome in 141
  3. Fillmore is also right around there in PA, they sell soy wax (Cargill waxes I believe). They also have wicks, fragrance, and a fantastic selection of jars. The downside to them is not many sample sizes or kits. If you go in the other direction, Nature's Garden is in Ohio. They a have a proprietary soy wax blend that has decent throw for a soy, they have a ton of great FOs, and they have wicks, as well as a small selection of containers. Their wax is pricey, but they have excellent shipping.
  4. @GailC, good thinking! The supplier's web pages will load even faster with a new tablet! 😂😂😂 I mean, good for you for resisting! 🙌🙌😄
  5. Maybe it's an intervention topic? "My friend is using FOs, and it's starting to take over his life..." Not sure we'd be much help with that. 😂
  6. Wax melts Wax used: Palm 2 from Candlewic Fragrance load: 7% Cure time: 2 weeks Addatives: none CT: super strong HT: very strong morphing: none, scent is much better in wax than OOB notes: this is so strong, it's almost too much for me. I am not generally a fan of clean scents, and this is very much a clean, airy fragrance. Those that love the clean type went crazy over this! I colored my tarts blue, threw some glitter on them, and people loved them!
  7. I am going to sign up for the course this weekend! I believe 4 modules are out now, and they are all free. I've been formulating for a few years now, I will be curious to see what they bring to the table for someone who is past the novice stage. Not that I'm an expert chemist, but there is a lot of range between Pinterest DIY and Perry Romanowski! 😂🤓
  8. I can hardly keep up with all my hobbies now, but this is something I would love to delve into at some point. I will certainly be following the conversation with great interest, even if I have nothing to add to it!
  9. Wow! I haven't used 129 in a while, but I've never seen that! I'm assuming you didn't change anything with your process? Did you send CW that picture? One would think they would want to know if one of their lots wasn't up to spec. They have a reputation for consistent waxes.
  10. This is great! I'm hoping to have this weekend to do some reviews! Can I suggest one addition? Date of FO purchase Sometimes people don't get around to testing right away, and with the reformulation of FO happening all time, it's nice to know if you're looking at an older version.
  11. @Grani L, I'm sorry, I only have one of the FOs on your list, the Citrus Odor eliminator. You must love fruity scents! Lol I haven't put the Citrus in wax yet, but it is very strong OOB, and VERY citrusy. I'm a little skeptical about its odor eliminating abilities, beyond making the air smell like oranges, which is nice I suppose. I have the odor eliminating FO from CS, and that oil clearly eliminates other odors - it has a quality to the smell that it not present in other FOs that I attribute to whatever aroma chemical they put in it for the odor eliminating qualities. Anyway, that's my input, I have many oils from Flaming and they are all really good, so I'm sure you will be pleased with your selection! @Trappeur has a great nose and never steers me wrong, I'm sure she will have some great reccomendations for you!
  12. @MrDan that human heart is gross but wonderful. The workmanship is fantastic!! And I love the originality! The floral heart and Rose are lovely, and while not as novel, they are works of art as well. I've missed seeing your wonderful creations!
  13. Peppermint is nice with other herbs. Lavender, Rosemary, lemon verbena... It mixes well with berries too. And pines.
  14. Darn it, headed over to WSP now... That sounds like my kind of floral!
  15. OH wow, that's wonderful Trapp, such a great person to have in your life! You two are kindred souls! I love the label, and I'm sure he will too! ❤️❤️
  16. The first one, I keep going back to that one. I love how the ribbon makes the "L" in love.
  17. Bitter Creek has an amazing honey. It's just Honey, it's super strong and smells great. I blended it with an OMH that was too almond-y, and it was perfection!
  18. Darbla, I have a rollerball perfume with a plastic ball that I bought back in 1998. It's still good. That being said, I didn't make the perfume, so I couldn't tell you what ingredients were in it or at what concentration. I have an oil-based rollerball perfume with a plastic ball from at least 2009, and that one is still ok too. Again, I didn't make that one. Anything that I've made is only 4-5 years old at the most, so not sure if that's helpful.
  19. Those are lovely! I think that's a great idea to double bag them, and I like @bfroberts's idea about the sample. My only concern would be pricing. Are you going to make a profit with that packaging? Around here, there is definitely a limit to what people are willing to pay for wax melts, and it's definitely a lot lower than candles. I think they view melts as being more disposable, and less of a premium product. However, I live in a fairly rural area. You may have a completely different demographic with the tourists and the amount of boutique shops in your area. How are you going to label them?
  20. Is it a dupe of a perfume? I'm sorry to say by the description it sounds like every perfume type, which is generally not my thing so I can't be of much help. But if you can find out if it's a dupe of something, that narrows the playing field a lot, and we might be able to find some possibilities.
  21. I use Aztec's cost-revised Sandalwood. It's not as good as the EO (what is?), but it's strong and readily identifiable as Sandalwood, unlike some others. CS's Antique Sandalwood was nice, but soft and more like a Barnwood to me. It lacked the depth and nuances I was looking for. I seem to recall NG's Sacred Sandalwood smelled perfumery and fake to me. But it's been a while since I smelled that one.
  22. I love looking at your crystal jars Trapp! They are beautiful and so inspiring! My favorite is the green bowl, but the tall jar is magnificent as well! I love that you are experimenting with mica! And new embeds! It all looks fantastic! ❤️❤️❤️
  23. I would try an oven process like TT suggested to help the saponification along. I'd also re-check my calculations. As Candybee pointed out, sometimes important things can get overlooked. One time I miscalculated my lye, and I ended up with a mushy unattractive soap. It took me forever to figure out I had like a 15% super fat!
  24. Maybe have the tins, but then also have "refills" in bags for less? Personally I wouldn't mind spending the money on the tin, as I always need a place to store my tarts, but I would only want to buy the tin once, you know?
