  1. Sorry @Fireside, I checked my bottle, and you are correct, it's just pumpkin pancake. I gues I stuck the maple on there because I smell it in the fragrance!
  2. I mostly use them as an alternative to CSNs or HTPs with Palm wax. But I have used them in CBL 125 on occasion, when I need a size in between the HTPs or a tighter flame. The do have a high flame, but narrow.
  3. Wow, so cool!! I really love the castle jar! It reminds me of Skelator from the He-Man cartoon! 😄
  4. I'm glad they are working with you to try to make it right. I agree that it looks like a totally different wax, or like an additive gone wrong.... Either way, I don't see how it could be anything you're doing wrong on your end, a 100% paraffin blend should NOT be that fussy about temps and additional additives.
  5. Awesome, thank you so much, @moonshine and @Kerven! They plugs are definitely a PITA, so I'll be happy to ditch them. I will take myself over to Walmart for that automotive tape! I can easily see how this could become even worse than the container candles, I'm already looking at different shapes and size molds to play with, and I've only made two pillars so far! 😂😂
  6. @TallTayl, my iPad went wonky and double-posted my Palm pillar topic in the Veggie Wax section. Is there a way to delete one? So annoying! Thanks!
  7. So I made my first pillar candle over the weekend, and I am now super excited about exploring this new territory. Actually, I poured two, but one was such a disaster, I'm not confident I'll be able to test it accurately. Anyway, I have a couple questions that went unanswered by the search function. I have spools of wicking that are unprimed. Should I be priming them? I didn't, is that going to mess up my burn? I got a bunch of mold plugs, and I jammed one all up in there, but I still had some leakage. For the disaster candle I used some Gorilla tape over the hole, and got a river pouring out of the bottom. And now my counter reeks of Nag Champa. 😕 I read in an older thread that @TallTayl reccomends high temp automotive tape, is that still a thing? Does the mold sealer some suppliers sell work? Should I be going for a combo? Thats all I've got for questions for now. I didn't get the Crystal pattern that I was hoping for, but I didn't warm my mold and my house was really cold, so I think it just cooled too fast. Here's a pic!
  8. Great info about Lipidchem, thank you! CW has a letter on their website stating that their vendor participates in the RSPO. That's all I know. 😬 So that was my poor wording, they're not claiming it's sustainable, just saying their supplier is part of RSPO.
  9. Candlewic claims that theirs is responsibly sourced. I can not verify that, I hadn't been to Maylasia. 😬 I think with all suppliers you have to take their word for it, how would you actually verify that?
  10. I'd worry about a deep melt pool with that trapped heat. HTPs burn hot, and they get a big lean when the MP is too deep. I'm really liking Premier 700s as an alternative to HTPs. They burn hot too, but their structure is more rigid. And Aztec has them in a jillion sizes.
  11. Ditto that! An off white I don't mind, or even a light tan, but I have had a couple oils turn my wax an ugly yellow. That I won't tolerate, and I don't use those anymore. @Arch Rock, we had a thread here recently on white pigment. I think the consensus was BC has a good one. Maybe do a search on white dye and see if it pops up.
  12. @Marleigha, I just lit the wicks on the candle I poured with Lick Me All Over. OH my gosh! Seriously it's only been burning 10 minutes and it is filling my downstairs with a super yummy fruit candy smell! And so good, not a cheap candy smell like other oils. I just made some melts yesterday with Bergamot Tobacco and Suede, the CT is lovely. I'll report on HT after the cure!
  13. Candles wax used: CBL 125 FO load: 7% container: 16oz straight jar, pint canning jar cure time: 2 days wicking: went up 1 wick size CT: excellent HT: fan-freaking-tastic!* *What a winner!! Richer and deeper in wax than OOB, this is a fantastic bakery scent. My oldest daughter's favorite. wax: Palm 1 Crystal container FO load: 6% container: pint jar cure time: 2 weeks wicking: standard for jar CT: excellent HT: excellent* *This one I prefer in 125, but throw is still excellent in Palm. wax melts wax: CBL 141 FO load: 8% cure time: couple days CT: excellent HT: excellent I bought this one in 2017.
  14. Soap FO load: 5% CP soap: 40% tallow, 60% veggie acceleration: yes discoloration: yes, medium brown morphing: yes, got some funky playdough notes* fading: not sure *Sadly this was a dud for me in soap, which is ok, because getting the IFRA from CW is such a chore, I'm not even positive it's soap-safe. Just wanted to put this out there in case. If you're looking for a body-safe version of this wonderful FO, WSP's Indonesian Teakwood is nearly identical. I haven't put that one in soap yet, just lotions, but when I do I will report back!
  15. Candle wax used: CBL 125 fragrance load: 7% container: 16oz straight jar wicking: wicked up 2 sizes CT: excellent HT: excellent, super strong* *This is another favorite of mine, sometimes it's my #1, sometimes it's my #2 after the Voodoo Love. So rich, so smooth, so strong. I imagine this is what Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) smells like. 😍😍..... Oh, ahem, yeah it's a fantastic FO! wax used: Palm 1 Crystal container FO load: 6% cure: 2 weeks container: 16oz straight jar wicking: standard for this container CT: excellent HT: excellent (see above - it's even better in the Palm!)
  16. Soap FO load: 5% CP soap: 40% tallow, 60% veggie acceleration: none discoloration: yes, dark brown morphing: just a little bit, it smells "greener" OOB and more vanilla in the soap fading: none at 6 months other notes: this makes an awesome lotion or body butter too! I bought it for my BFF's daughter, who loved the B&BW lotion. She loves this even more!

    Blueberry

Candles: wax used: CBL-125 fragrance load: 8% container: 16oz straight jar wicking: needed to wick up a size CT: poor HT: poor* *Very underwhelmed by this FO. It smelled nice, pretty close to real blueberries, but the throw was very poor. I did not try it in any other wax.

    Pumpkin Chai

Candles wax used: Palm 1 Crystal container fragrance load: 6% container: 8oz glass tumbler wicking: standard wick for this container CT: very good HT: excellent* *Another great pumpkin that isn't too pumpkinish. Creamy, a little spicy, a hint of coffe and black tea, this is a lovely fragrance. Excellent throw that isn't too overwhelming. Wax tarts: wax used: CBL 141 fragrance load:7% CT: very good HT: excellent wax used: Palm 2 Crystal pillar fragrance load: 6% CT: very good HT: very good
  19. Candles: wax used: Palm 1 Crystal container fragrance load: 6% container: 8oz glass tumbler wicking: standard for this container CT: good HT: very good* *This FO made me a pumpkin believer. So yummy, you smell the maple syrup, the butter, the spices (not a lot!), vanilla and pumpkin. It's great in the fall, but really a wonderful bakery scent in general. I don't know why I haven't put this in CBL 125 yet, but as soon as I do, I will update!
  20. Candles wax used: Palm 1 crystal container fragrance load: 6% container: 8oz glass tumbler wicking: a bit fussy, the standard wick size was good, but this FO likes to mushroom CT: faint HT: subtle* *This is a quiet fragrance. The throw is subtle, but I wouldn't call it poor because of the nature of the fragrance. It is very warm, sweet, buttery and a little boozy. It makes a wonderful background for many other fragrances, if you like to burn multiple candles at once. It is also a delightful mixer. This is not my favorite rum, but I did enjoy burning this one.

    Snowflake

Candles wax used: CBL-125 fragrance load: 7% average cure: 2 days container size: 16oz straight jar wicking notes: easy to wick CT: strong HT: very strong* *I did not personally like this one, it did not smell like snow to me. Not that I can put a finger on what snow smells like, but this had a detergent background and smelled a little too perfum-y when I was hoping for more outdoors-y. That being said, I combined it with the Frozen Pine and other people like it a lot.

    Frozen Pine

Candles wax: CBL-125 fragrance load: 7% cure time: 2 days container size: 16oz straight jar wicking notes: very easy to wick CT: moderately strong HT: OMG strong* *This is so strong, I almost couldn't handle the test burn. I am not generally a big fan of pines anyway, so that may have been the issue. I found this to be a mediocre pine, it smelled a little car-freshener fake to me. I ended up using it as a blender. Candles wax used: Palm 1 crystal container see notes above, exact same performance in Palm
  23. I'm not familiar with C6. Does it contain Palm? That cooling behavior is very characteristic of palm wax. If so, I would try pouring in the 180 range. Thats a veggie blend wax, yes? I would also give it a longer cure, at least a week. Even a straight parrafin improves (I think) with a day or two after the pour. I love your jars!!
  24. Out of curiosity, what FO are you using? I'm not well versed with tins, but those look just a bit over-wicked to me Forrest. I'm curious to what the burn looks like after the midway point. I agree the LX looks pretty good.

    Voodoo Love

Voodoo Love is one of my absolute favorite fragrances ever. It is a sultry, spicy patchouli with a very slight citrus top note. It is very bottom heavy, which I love, but the layers blend well and are complex enough to wear as a perfume (which I do). If you are a lover of hippy, incense type fragrances, this is a must-have! If your customers are begging for a patchouli, but you hate patchouli, give this a try. It is much more than just another patchouli. But beware, this is strong, strong, strong! 😁😁
