  1. I've been able to get a good hot throw from most of my fragrance oils using new 464 in pint canning jars and CD or Premier wicks. Still having problems with Rustic Escentuals Apple Pumpkin Strudel. Are any of you using this fragrance in this jar and getting good results? If so, would you mind sharing what wick you are using? GoldieMN
  2. Rustic Escentuals update: https://rusticescentuals.com/blog/fragrance-oil-shortage-information/ GoldieMN
  3. Oh man, wish I didn't have 100 lbs. of wax already. GoldieMN
  4. I poured six different fragrance/test jars three weeks ago with my new boxes of 464. They all had smooth tops after cooling. Time to test burn them. . .UGH. . .they all have cracks on their tops. I've had problems in the past as many of you with 464 but never had cracks. So, will a shot of heat until cracks disappear be enough to fix candles if I get this in jars I want to sell? The hot throw is good, cracks disappear as soon as they start to melt without fixing the cracks with a heat gun but wouldn't sell them with cracks. GoldieMN
  5. @Jcandleattic @Trappeur Oh my, that bar of soap is a work of art! GoldieMN
  6. @JulieB Have you ever duped any of the McCall Candle fragrances? GoldieMN
  7. Beautiful. Now I'm hungry for a cinnamon roll. GoldieMN
  8. Very sweet! Wish we could smell them. GoldieMN
  9. I've had people tell me the Lemon Biscotti fragrance keeps the Asian lady bugs out of their house. Around here they can get pretty bad. Lemon Biscotti tarts sitting out or an open unlit candle jar even works for some. GoldieMN
  10. AH is Aroma Haven which is Rustic Escentuals (RE). FO is fragrance oil. I'm not new, and I still have to look some of the company names up when people abbreviate them. GoldieMN
  11. Sounds good. I have a votive or sample of reed oil if they need it. GoldieMN
  12. @Trappeur I'll be interested in your testing of these in 464. McCall's Country Store was the overall top seller, I believe, in the shop I worked in; Cabin Scents, second. Wish I could find a dupe of their Spiced Pear. By the way, check your "messages" on this board. GoldieMN
  13. My last two boxes from Rustic Escentuals are dated January 2018. GoldieMN
  14. Wow, those are so pretty! GoldieMN
  15. To me it smells like a sharp orange fragrance (Capri Blue Volcano type if that is what you are referring to). GoldieMN
  16. I wondered how soy wax would be affected by the tariffs. GoldieMN
  17. If you get a good hot throw in the melter, you could melt them down and make clamshells or tarts with the wax. IF you get a good hot throw in the melter so you know it isn't your fragrance that is the problem, you could melt down one jar, reheat the wax to 180 or whatever you use and add fragrance oil so you are up to, say, 7%. See how that goes. I've melted mine in a low temp oven. GoldieMN
  18. When we were kids, my Mom would strain and save all our used lard for a neighbor who made soap from it. Ha! Another memory. lol GoldieMN
  19. Yes, you explained that well. Now, do I do that repour at 195 or wait until the wax cools to 145? GoldieN
