  1. I remember now, I made mine from an old wire hanger(s). Pam, that's a great idea.
  2. Great color Love the roll soaps, they look fun. Good job!!
  3. Wow wow wow. I did a double take on those. Let's see 'em cut!!
  4. Woooooooooooow. Those are fantastic. I love the F&M, too. But the first one still has me drooling. Thumbs up.
  5. Those are cool looking -- they look like marble.
  6. You shouldn't need it. That is, if the hole you created isn't too big. Don't use the wick pin to poke the hole, use something slightly narrower. I have a wire I use just for that. Can't remember for the life of me where I got it, but I've been using it to poke holes in silicone molds for years. After the hole is there, you can insert the wick pin. I've never had a leak.
  7. Clean scents always seem to work in a bathroom, however, depending on the person you never know what's going to turn their nose up. Too bad she didn't give you more of a hint as to what direction she was thinking. I like lavender, and of the "clean" ones (clean cotton, clean clothes... whatever).
  8. Make sure your molds are clean. Try pouring slower and tap-tap your mold to get rid of trapped air. Rustics are pretty notorious for pinholes. What temp are you pouring your wax at? You may be able to pour a wee bit warmer. That can help.
  9. I think by nature I'm a night soaper. But by convenience I'm a day soaper, and generally when everyone was out of the house. Even when it is night I never know if someone's going to be up and out of their bed for one reason or another. Makes me nervous.
  10. El_roach_0, your two identical threads have been merged. Please only post a thread once.
  11. I should totally get the whip for this... but I'm burning a Target candle. Vanilla. It is a tall, monster 3-wick candle that I've had for years. I bought 3 of them, way back before I made candles. Have had this one in my closet and finally decided to break it out and light it up. It has a decent throw and burns relatively good.
  12. This thread will serve as a weekly sale thread to discuss sales going on within the (craft) community. Feel free to post and discuss the sales, what you bought or are thinking of buying in this thread. Please keep the discussion limited to this thread. Any sale postings, or "shopping list" threads posted outside of this thread will be removed. Suppliers DO NOT post your ads in the Weekly Sales thread. Sale discussion threads will be removed at the end of each week.* A new thread can be started by whatever member hops on her first thing Monday and starts one. But not before Monday, and one thread only!! You must copy/paste this text into the first post of the new thread *Keep this in mind when posting information outside of the simple "sale" realm (like testing notes, compatibility with waxes, etc.). That information will be lost when the thread is removed, and should be posted outside of the Weekly Sales thread.
  13. Those are super cool. I love the contrast in the black and white ones. Curious as to how big they are too.
  14. Another one bites the dust -- you're definitely hooked!! Yum. Something about nekkid soap. Sounds like a nice blend. Love the texture you have on the tops. Did it stay?
  15. Hey Laura. Welcome "back." Your ideas of avacado and shea could help, however you mentioned one having actual flaking of her skin. Her skin condition might just be beyond anything a simple soap can take care of. Some people need extra moisture and have to use lotion. If the majority of people are not complaining of it being too dry, your formula is probably pretty good. Not saying it isn't worth the venture to work on something that is extra beneficial for sensitive skin, but there are some skin issues that won't be solved by a bar of soap.
  16. If you don't have any program running right now you can do it by spreadsheet or even by hand. If you're curious in scents only, sit down with your invoices and tally them up. Break it down by product, if you want. It is beneficial to keep track of what is selling and what is not. When you have the stats in front of you, you know for sure.
  17. Maaaaaaan. I saw these when you first posted at the temp forum. You're talking crazy, those look like white chocolate brownies with fudge. Forget the soap, LOL!!! Congrats on your first batch. Where's dancing soap baby...
  18. *soap porn approval* One of each, please. So... yeah. The Tangerine, the Girlie and the Violet are my favorites. Anything pink and you had me at "P". That was delicious entertainment. I will now wipe up my drool.
  19. :highfive: Great post. I'm going to copy this over to our info thread.
  20. I typed in a comment asking about the saltwater solution but... don't have a login and too lazy right now to register.
  21. I love daisies, but there isn't much to them as far as a floral scent. Maybe something green smelling like a super light grass. Sunflower is another one that doesn't seem to tickle the nose with a floral scent , but there's a perfume by that name.
  22. Man, that is frustrating. Wow. Maybe you could post the container (if you haven't already) and see if we can help you out in finding some different lids.
  23. Wow, that is fantastic. Glad to hear things are doing well. Any advice? Thoughts? Updates and what went well, what didnt?
  24. Definitely so many variables. Having good FO is important. Some scents throw better than others. Some need a bit of "cure" time for them to give off a better throw. Keep reading, trial and error and you WILL get it If you can give us the info Vicky asked for we can help.
