  1. Cute idea!! Does it have an actual towel on the bottom of it?
  2. Thanks for starting this.
  3. Yeah, as long as the wax is cooled and hardened. If it is still soft it can compromise the results of your test burn.
  4. If you're thinking about canceling your service, dowload a copy to your computer (of coarse, you should be d/l regular backups anyway) first, and then delete your files if you want. If you don't, they will delete them anyway when you cancel your service. Your host should be doing nothing with your files once you cancel beyond removing them from their servers.
  5. Do you have a picture of these, or are you trying to find something that fits this description?
  6. Isn't that the truth!!! Haha. You are definitely not alone. Glad it slid right out for you. I don't spray mine either. Beauty of seasoned molds. Especially if you're using FO. The unscented ones are the ones I have more of a problem with.
  7. What a cool wax, huh? Those look just fantastic.
  8. Haha. I was wondering what I'd find in here with that title and all. Makes sense now!! Love them swirlies.
  9. What interesting soaps; those are amazing. Those are CP?
  10. Haha. Yeah, I'll move it over to Soapmaking. Love the illustrations
  11. I'll have to check those out. I usually get the same boxes each time and it has been a while. It does make a difference if you can fit more in!!
  12. If we're talking soaps here, I like lavender, mint patchouli.
  13. I've never heard of the FOs or the store. Have you put it in wax yet?
  14. For pillars, nothing compares to the versatility of paraffin. For containers, though, I use a soy/paraffin blend.
  15. Jessicurl is a pretty well known hair product for curly hair products and started out the same way a lot of use have. I say this, though, with a head of curls and never having used her product. I have yet to experience any real desire to delve too far into that kind of stuff. I've used just about everything in my house that has been reported to be good for curls, but never got past about 3 ingredients.
  16. Try the old forum archived forum as well. You're not the first person to come to the conclusion that you either have to double wick or ditch the apothecary, and the taller they get, the more fun they become.
  17. Hobby + Wholesale = Disaster. Big red flags are flying all over here. Probably your best bet is to search through this entire section until your eyeballs pop out and read nearly every thread. If you don't know where to get the wholesale supplies, chances are you aren't at the point to be selling. Short version: You really need to have a business license, insurance and the whole shebang before you do any wholesaling. In other words, to wholesale to a business, you need to be a business. You need to have thoroughly tested anything and everything you would be wholesaling or selling. By the point you even think about wholesaling you'll have already shopped around manymany suppliers and tested loads of product. Simply stated, candlemaking as a hobby (dinking, testing, trying, experimenting, etc.) usually evolves into more candles than you could possibly burn and the desire (or request) to share freebies with friends, which evolves into people wanting to purchase items (or you feeling like you are beginning to need compensation for what you're doing), which evolves into about where you seem to be now. To represent yourself and candle makers as a whole in the best light possible, take a few steps back, read up and then see where you are at and ask the appropriate questions. But right now, from your post it would appear you aren't an established business person ready to take the leap into wholesaling. Welcome to the forum, though -- you are definitely in the right place!!
  18. Sorry to hear that. I wouldn't do that show again either. But I wouldn't cancel the other ones (unless they are done by the same promoter/people). You can have a bum show one week and a fantastic one the next.
  19. So much is subjective. Right after I read the question, I immediately thought, something that fills the room (and wafts through adjoining rooms) with a nice, warm scent -- at 6% and under. As a consumer of candles, if you can't smell the candle in the same room, it isn't a good throw. If I can smell it in more than one room (burning in livingroom, can smell in kitchen, down the hall a bit... the stairs), without it being overpowering, that's a good throw. Subtle and strong at the same time. On the flip side, though, I have a friend that, unless it is burning your nose hairs, and giving you bronchitis, it isn't throwing.
  20. Love the sound of that first soap -- great color choices. I've got that same rack, too. Use it for supplies, though.
