  1. Blimey, don't believe its you lolol. I've recently started making jewellery and when I got some seed beads I thought ooh, they are small enough to string together, then though a cupcake would be lovely. I look on the net and found yours, they are amazing. Never did figure out how to do it though, I found a couple of tutorials but couldn't figure them out it's probably one of those things I'll 'get round to' lol Just wanted to say how gorgeous your items are x
  2. I've just given up candles completely and sold all my supplies. I've never made a sale on my website to passing public, and people that know me only buy once in a blue moon. Any money I've ever made from the business went into housekeeping, I know it shouldn't but needs must, and we need a serious injection of cash, so something had to give. As the candles were items made to order, i.e. having to keep a lot of items in stock on 'a just in case' basis, I decided they were the ones to go. I'm still offering photo hurricane candles, aroma ornie air fresheners, m&p and will be putting scrubs on there soon. At this rate, this time next year I'll be packing in all together. I can't afford to add any other products, as the different b&b's over here cost money for certification.
  3. really cute! I have the ornament version of him, the candle version looks amazing
  4. I can remember coming on here and asking newb questions quite some time ago, the main one being how soon can I sell. To say I was shocked by the replies I received is an understatement, I sat and cried, I put all my 'stuff' back in boxes and left it. Then a few days later, I thought booger 'em. I came back on, and I soon realised that what I thought were harsh and even nasty comments, weren't! People on here, can be very forthright, but they are 1) looking out for your best interests and 2) trying to keep the reputations of serious chandlers intact! Don't forget, 1 novice chandlers product burns down someones house, it hits the news headlines and we are all tarred with the same brush for a while. Ok, some people could perhaps be a little better with their wording of critiscism, but hey, everyones different. I suggest you spend a while reading everything you can, if you have a specific question ask, but ask after you've tried to do something yourself, like you say don't expect others to give your their hard earned secrets on a platter. Insurance, please check this out, its just sooooooo not worth going without it. Good luck
  5. I think Fig & Brown Sugar smells light and fresh
  6. omg! thats amazing, from someone that works in 2foot of kitchen, I'm in awe! I can but dream looks fantastic, and your soaps are beautiful, well done xx
  7. I used to blend it with fo first and then add it, but now I just sprinkle and stir. If it goes cloggy I spritz with witch hazel
  8. You'll probably end up with a mix of dark and light blue, if you try though I'd definately put the colour in with a little more fragrance oil, to help it mix around further. Then give a mighty good shake
  9. I decided to make a loaf of floating soap for my craft fair next week, and fancied trying a variety of colours, so I literally chucked them in, slammed it down and waited to see how it came out. Colourful to say the least Fragranced in Almond Milk. It's Goats Milk M&P. Sorry piccie a bit blurry
  10. why did you not get payment up front for what you were buying? If I were ordering that much stuff I'd want payment up front for it. The 800 candles you made him, are you saying these were samples?, did he send them all back to you, or he just didn't want them after you'd made them?
  11. the star within a star, put the smaller mold inside bigger one and try and place something roughly that size over the top, pour into outer star, then pour into inner star, try and make sure the beads are the same high, so when you remove the inner star they don't fall over into the middle. One problem I have, is I use baking sheets rather than trays and sometimes they bend without you noticing, so after you've carefully filled all your cutters, you lift the tray up and boom, all the cutters bounce up off the tray and theres beads everywhere
  12. I package mine individually in little bags with a card holder across the top with the label on. I sell all mine for £3 each which I guess is @$6? I tried a star within a star, came out pretty nice but bit of a moo to get the beads to stay within their star lol. I even tried putting coloured 'baubles' on a tree one this week but can't quite see the design until you hold it up. mmm a toaster oven, is that what we call a toaster in the UK or an actual oven? I'm always looking for cutters too, esp a car one, I need a decent sized car one, mine is tiny
  13. lol, true don't want anything detracting from my products
  14. lol, could try wonder if I could hire some eye candy for the day, just to stand and hold a candle or soap, or...............even get a bath tub in there with him in it, using the soap, now that could work
