  1. A tip for mold release, powder mold release works incredible! I have a healthy stock of it I bought years ago, BC may still sell it? But it worked better than any spray and I never had issues with it messing with my candles exterior.
  2. I have. they all look similar but burn very differently. eco work fine in 6006 but use a MUCH smaller size
  3. That was me. Mixing it into the fragrance acts as a solvent for the dye. I usually mix in what I need to the entire lb once I figure out how much I need in a particular wax.
  4. Bitter Creek sells a variety of them! Different sizes for different jars.
  5. In 4786 I usually can use a 60-44-18z single but two 44-32-18z will also work.
  6. Tunneling comes solely from the wrong size wicks.. The wax prime acts solely as an agent to start the fire. I have poured around 200* with this wax in my jelly jars. I would not pour hotter. But if you are seeing tunneling while the candles are burning, the wick itself is too small or too large.
  7. Does this shock you? I really loved the OLD, by old I mean buckets of NGI soy Eco 120 was my favorite wax. Every time they messed around with the formula, it cost me time and money. I eventually gave up on their waxes and quit doing soy as a whole for resale. Frustrating!
  8. At 2.5 hrs that looks about perfect. You ideally want a melt pool that at 4 hours reaches between 1/4" but no more than 1/2" depth against the glass of melted wax. Don't measure the internal pool...just against the glass. I say you've got this!
  9. YES! And I used it for votives too. I normally pre wick my votives in the cup. but when testing I use wick pins and can pull out/rewick if needed!
  10. Pigments are just that, pigments. This means simply that they suspend within the wax, not actually melt in the way dye does. Are you using them to overdip?
  11. Yes, in real life it is much more beige. The scent is Emerald Sea
  12. What is funny is that it is an ocean themed candle! I actually have instructions specifically for this candle on the Bitter Creek Blog from a few years back! Let me see if I can find them for you. Otherwise, I am MORE than happy to share how! I LOVE doing pillars!
  13. Tons! Let me get to my personal computer tonight and upload some. But in the mean time, let me get the ones from BC's site I did for you!
  14. I make rustic mottle pillars! What wax are you using specifically?
  15. It is essentially the same as tools 1 and 2 on his page. This is just homemade as Candybee said. You will use it to cut down the pieces to bend over.
  16. If it is a natural wax, it may not be FO. Soy, coconut etc can all sweat, even with no FO added. My bet is it is more a sweating than an FO issue.
  17. http://www.candlefun.com/candlefun-mobile/candlefun-separate-prices.html This guy has been at a few conventions that I have attended. His system is rock star and he also sells the tools alone.
  18. Careful with Yaley Molds, they are junk! You want seamless aluminum molds. How many are you looking for? Some suppliers will special order if you order enough.
  19. I never thought of that since my smallest container is 4" deep! Good to point that out.
  20. I was doing some testing the other day and it dawned on me, that I do things COMPLETELY different. When I need to test wicks, I pour 1 jar with my wax/fo/dye combo as usual with NO wicks. Once the wax is fully cured, I drill a hole out for the wicks. I cut the tab off the wick, place in the hole, heat gun it a second to fill the small bitty void, trim and light. You can now test one size, if it does not work, level the top off, pull the wick that didn't work out, replace with another size and test again. I've done this for years, and it makes testing SO much faster and easier. Bruce Campbell from Wicks Unlimited taught me this years ago. I have saved so much time and money it's probably not funny. I hate testing wicks, so this method goes fast and is very easy on resources.
  21. I personally have made a pillar that was 68# of wax. It was massive, and there is no amount of money that will ever get me to make another. LOL
  22. Bitter Creek sells a wick setter that they will customize to your jar diameter and wick configuration for just the cost of the setter and shipping.
  23. So is the jar black too? Because as the others said, if not, that is not the candle doing this. I am almost wondering if you have a fuel oil furnace?
  24. I have used that wax for about 15 years and NEVER had anything remotely like that. How much scent are you adding to what amount of wax? Also, how long are you burning each time?
