  1. Love it when I'm hesitant to do something and it turns out great. Good Job! Hope the rest of the summer has great sales.
  2. If you want a small quantity for yourself, try Amazon. I purchased a large jar there that didn't cost much. I believe it's called Indian Healing Clay.
  3. Yes it does, thanks! At least I have a good starting point to test.
  4. Agreed, that would look great with a small burlap rose or burlap poppy and I'd scuff up the lid paint.
  5. Primarily the 12 oz status jar, my other jar is the same diameter and almost the same height and I use the same wicks.
  6. The only other suggestion I can give is if you test yourself be sure to test in same size room. If you use friends/family as testers try to get both those that like the really strong scents and those that like lighter scents because you will have both types of customers. Not everyone wants their socks knocked off with a scent like we expect.
  7. Does anyone know what size CD wick would be comparable to a C60 or a C62? I'm thinking CD 10 & CD 12?? I use C3 wax and since they are both cotton core wicks I would think minimal testing would be required when switching to CD's. It's getting difficult to find the wicks I'm currently using without adding more suppliers.
  8. Nice, have fun using them. By the way, the dog soap is AWESOME! Haven't broke into any of the others yet, but they are selling.
  9. Yes many silicone molds work better with a container/pillar blend if you use all soy. I also find that the shallower molds release way easier and therefore less breakage. I use C3 soy container wax and add about 25% pillar wax if I'm using what I call my "sticky" molds. You'll need to experiment with your wax to find the right %.
  10. For smaller towns or high end stores, I would offer a "private label" but not an exclusive. You really need a high volume account to go exclusive and even then I would set a low mile radius so you can sell in neighboring towns or the same town if it's a large one.
  11. Wow, they used to be reputable. I haven't used them in over 5 years.
  12. I don't do them anymore but when I did I labeled the tin and not the top with a clear address label, then I found some silver labels that I really liked on the tins. I used the 4 oz and 8 oz deep tins. I can't find any pics guess they were on my old computer and I didn't tsf since not making anymore.
  13. Old Glory, that is such a great response it needs to be permanently posted somewhere so easy for new peeps to find it. crvella, I would use the % that your wax mfg recommends for your wax. Adding extra only create problems. I'm sure not everyone will agree with that but there is a reason the mfg has a max fo load and it's usually a safety issue.
  14. Yep, go with your gut on this, but I'd never change jars for a client...labels or lids, yes. I own antique stores that we rent space in, I can tell you from personal experience that 70% or more of the people we rent to are a bit flaky. That being said, sometimes getting into a store that rents space is contingent on having pictures of your products to show the owner, so she may be trying to come up with a line for her booth. I'm very picky about who I let rent now that I've learned the hard way and I require pictures.
  15. Glad you're feeling better, finally. Take it easy so you don't relapse. I make those cotton wash rags, I love them for dishes. I've never made the soap savers but may steal your idea for my own personal use, I have a net soap saver and really don't like it.
  16. Hoping to get some pictures taken of our stores to update the social media...been slacking because I really hate doing it. Probably need to actually make something in the candle workshop as well.
  17. I call rootbeer fo sassafras on my label, very similar
  18. Tappeur, They are all really beautiful. I love the deer one and apparently you do too. I think the embossed leather one for the 2nd, but it's a tough choice.
  19. Also what wicks, are they flat or round. There are a couple of things that might help out but really need to know what wax. Pouring temp is huge especially with soy waxes, pouring very slowly when filling the container, actually pouring the wax down the wick & allowing the wax to completely set up before your 2nd pour. If it's pure soy, you may not need a 2nd pour unless you poke relief holes. I use a heat gun if my tops aren't smooth. If you see bubbles with the heat gun, you know there is a hole and need to poke where the bubble(s) are and repour.
  20. Vicky, that festival sounds wonderful and I'm jealous! Have fun, customers always do!
  21. Had a yard sale yesterday so my first floor where my candle area is...disaster! Guess I'll be cleaning it up today so I can make product soon. Why is it that as soon as you decide to discontinue a fo, someone asks for it??? Dragon's Blood was a slow seller so I nixed it and now I have a local lady that wants to buy it. Guess I'll use up what I have left and then decide. First on the list to make in melts.
  22. Then I'd almost be afraid of Wizards because it's not listed as a "type" or "dupe", unless you hear from someone here that has used it. Sometimes you get reviews in their feedback on ebay. I looked at their fo before but thought they were on the high end for 16 oz bottles.
