  1. Hmm....not sure if it was the banana or not. When I did banana soap, I puried it and used 1 tbsp pp at trace, and it turned out fine. Not sure putting it in before trace had anything to do with it or not. I have never had my soap do that before, so I can't say if it would have been the FO or not.
  2. I don't use a lid....just stick it in the oven until it has gelled, then I take it out and sit it on the stove. A few times I have covered it, but it just seemed to overheat it.
  3. I think it is beautiful, great swirls. Seems like my lavender did that as well, turning a rose color. I also used the select shades in it, Purple Velvet.
  4. Since it won't let me edit my post, I would also like to add Lemon Verbena....did wonderful in my whipped soap.
  5. My 16 bar mold, made by Misty Creek holds 80 oz, but I find I get a nice 1 1/4" high bar with 64 oz (4 lb), so for the 32 bar, I would say that 128 oz would get you 32 bars, about 1 1/4" high. I had bought the 32 bar initially, and returned it and got 2 of the 16 bar molds, which I like better. Just noticed this is a 36 bar, not 32......I would still guess that would be close, but you might have to measure it and figure the amount that would fit. I think she indicated she had the instructions, so maybe it tells what works best.
  6. It looks nice....should be just like a light whipped cream texture. I like the mold, what kind of mold is it?
  7. Lets see.... Sweet Violet and Sassafras Mayan Gold Black Orchid and White Lily Belgian Chocolate Rosemary Mint Herbal Citrus Sorbet Coconut Lime Verbena Green Irish Tweed LLC (not as impressed with this one in soap, but kicks butt in body butter) and Vaniglia del Madagascar I have several more to soap, but those are the ones I have soaped successfully so far.
  8. Stunning candles and great photography, as always.
  9. Here, try this http://home.exetel.com.au/lozniz/Soap/index.htm I used my KA mixer to whip mine up.
  10. Doesn't particularly remind me of Downy, but it is a very nice basket with nice goodies in it
  11. I also like Cherry Slush from KY, and just got some killer smelling Cherry Garcia from OT that I have not gotten to do anything with yet.
  12. Those look really nice, great layers.
  13. Sorry to hear about that. Hope it won't discourage you from trying again. I made it once, the only thing I didn't like, was cutting it, it was a PITA, nothing like regular CP. Will be interested to hear how it comes out of the Kelsei, so don't forget to post pics.
  14. Beautiful basket, love all of the flowers....very nice.
  15. Beautiful soaps Brenda...I love cherry and am getting ready to soap a cherry myself on Monday.
  16. I had no problem double wicking them....but the double wicking, even the double HTP31 seemed to be overkill and the single largest 1312 couldn't get the job done. Since that is the primary wick I use, and didn't want to go to another series, I just gave up on them. They are cute jars, and with the right wick, probably burn well.
  17. I also pour that wax, when it starts to get like a milk consistancy. In my experience, those jars were a bear to wick. I gave up trying to get a good consistant burn in them. I went with a more straight up and down jar, with a smaller neck and chimney. They are cute jars, so good luck with them. I would go with a very large HTP wick, a 126 or larger. My issue was I couldn't get a good burn well with the largest wick, nor doubling the 2 smallest wicks I had (HTP31).
  18. I agree that it doesn't throw as well as my straight soy. But it does color well, with very little color. They have a beautiful appearance and pretty sparkly crystal looking tops. If I remember right, the wax was a little pricey, and they do not have distributors for it, you have to buy from them direct. Which if you live up in their part of the world is not a problem, but Texas is a long ways away and shipping would be a killer. Also, don't try to mix any soy with it to improve the throw, it kills the cool effects. It is a beautiful wax though, I still have some, just haven't made any in a while. You also had to kinda treat it like palm, if I remember, keeping relief holes open while it is cooling.
  19. I used to make 24 oz. candles, but they never sold as well as the 8 oz. If you use the same type of jar, you really need to make sure you wick test the large one as well. Because some of my larger ones took a diff. size than the smaller one, as the candle burns diff. as it gets to the middle and bottom of the jar.
