  1. If a fragrance used citral, and that was in the formula of a majority of fragrances yes it could cause a trance oil to lose its Oompa Loompa. Citral is what gives a majority of fragrances it’s piece de resistance.
  2. When I go higher than 6 then I get oily spots in warm weather.
  3. This is hand painted? Price higher. It’s not like you are slapping a label on. you can market it as scented art etc and you should def create a marketing story for these. Products sell with higher price points when you have a compelling story line. Also agreed larger candle more money. Also. Let’s say you wanted to wholesale these. Wholesale it’s fifty per cent of retail price. So you have to cover for your original art your time, product costs
  4. They are not overpriced for the candle. They have a niche. They wholesale. Also do not go by Etsy prices. Sell by what your candle is worth. There are many sellers selling bottom of the barrel there and have no idea how to price. Not just candles everything else.
  5. For folded you can print yourself. Do a business card layout, the fold yourself and use a micro punch for string. To score use a tool like a ruler and burnished tool then it will fold perfectly.
  6. To the olive lard coconut castor oil question. I would lose the lard. Many people do not want animal products in their soap. You can make a nice soap with olive coconut castor oil. You can make a nice soap with just coconut oil too if you do a high superfat.
  7. Thanks for suggestions. Going to try Fillmore as I get stuff from them already. Have NOT had luck with WSP and find them expensive.
  8. Short run here not expensive https://www.vistaprint.com/marketing-materials/hang-tags?GP=06%2f07%2f2019+07%3a01%3a08&GPS=5401455866&GNF=1 best you print yourself is with a laser printer. Love the rubber stamp idea but if the look doesn’t represent you then you have to use something else.
  9. Hmmm safflower shows on Brambleberry one year shelf life, but Rice bran Oil showing two years.
  10. Pro makes a nice hard bar but if you removed it would be palm free. To me you could lose the RBO as it has a short shelf life
  11. I poured Mahogany Teakwood from Aztec, it’s fresh and not cured out by any means but it smells very weak at 6 per cent. For those of you who know this fragrance is there a supplier with a very strong version of this?
  12. A million places will create candle boxes for you all different price points. Most run about $1 each plus for minimum of 5 hundie
  13. You have a number of hard to Harding oils there that will trace quickly. Remember this is a rinse off product so you don’t have to crazy with the number of ingredients, you can formulate very simply and get nice results. Save some of the fancier butters etc for stay on products like lotion. Lotions bars, cream etc. Your costs will go down too.
  14. I like super simple sunflower coconut or palm kernel and castor, that’s it. People love my soap. I like sunflower over olive oil because I hate the cast of color from olive. And since I hate dealing with titanium dioxide it’s a no brained for m e.
  15. I would dig out the wax repour at different temp, and try cooling differently. You don’t need foil if it’s that hot in space.
  16. Also start fresh LOWER fragrance load to 6, 8 percent. Pour container hot 170, then 135. It could be the waxes, the fragrance, the color, the temp.
  17. That’s crazy looking. Ok try an experiment. I have better luck with 464 pouring hot. Dig out wax and pour 170, 160, 150. See results.
  18. Regarding pricing. It wholesome, handmade, fresh ingredients, no weirdo ingredients, made in the USA = worth it.
  19. Make your own! It’s easy and you can really fine tune it. The problem with premade is depending on the flavoring it can make a lip balm too soft depending on the flavor and how much you have to add, then it’s a big pain figuring out the percentage of additive to get consistency just right. Zillion recipes out there" doesn’t have to be exotic 10 ingredients. You can do easily with two ingredients.
  20. To me that’s a lot of hang up on the sides. It should be clean if burned down to that area. Double wick, it will burn much nicer, and look better. You don’t want a messy looking candle. That width with C3 is pushing it with single wick. So your choice double wick or change container.
  21. CS are pretty darn good about having strong oils. Other place hit or miss. Bought an expensive cardamom oil from WHolesalesupplies and it was very diluted. Not good for candles. Wouldn’t use for bath and body either.
  22. Get painters tape. All tape will fall off due to the solvent ability in fragrances, oils etc.
  23. Research and development. You can google various suppliers, and look through this forum!
  24. Ikea candle 3.99. Great glass, perfect adhesion. Pretty severely off center. Under-wicked. This is a three hour burn. Keeping the glass but tossing the wax.
  25. Thanks for posting. I have found new fragrance oil suppliers through this forum but have hesitated to purchase items from them. i just purchased through a sale only to find the shipping was exorbitant. Other websites had such horrible reviews it made me hesitant about customer service. Yes if you want to do candles and bath and body you would want the irfa and vanillin content. Though I pay attention to vanillin content in candles because once fo is heated it will discolor, and it will discolor over time.
