  1. Those CDs honestly should be fine. Do a test without the dye.
  2. Sound like you possibly changed Fragrance and didn’t test in wax, or you got a new batch of wax and didn’t test the lot. Did you add anything to the wax such as color? If you did you will need to test the wicks again.
  3. Test without color and those sides will be clean. Add color and you need to wick up. Or test with one up wick if you want to do color.
  4. Stearic acid to harden it up, or blend with one of the paraffin tart waxes. Search tarts here.
  5. Normally I like many of Candle Science fragrances but I just did a test with their Christmas tree in 4630 wax. Well first tester I thought maybe I forgot to add the fragrance oil, so did another. Absolutely zero scent from the candle cold throw. Not going to work, not even burning it. I was shocked, it was the first fo I have used that seriously had zero scent.
  6. Natural waxes? Soy, coconut, apricot all have been processed and treated with chemicals. Even essential oil scented candles, essential oils have been treated too. Maybs you mean paraffin free. I don’t use wooden wicks but they are treated yes?
  7. Well I can’t spell today. RRD 50 and premier 799
  8. So had some time and decided to take up the palm again because it’s so pretty in jars. I tried CSN wick, they were okay. Now test RRD 40 and Premeir 799 in three inch straight sided jar. I have to trim the wicks very short because of the way palm burns down 5en out and the initial start of the burning wick height is a bit alarming. These seem to burn nicely with hang up two burns in the clean sides after. My concern is the slight flickering instead of constant flame. Is this pal or am I wicking too high?
  9. No it’s a good idea! You can place container of fo in hot water. Just make sure you wipe off drips from glass before putting into your wax so you don’t get drips in your batch. I am assuming this is for a pouring pitcher? If in presto pot you can just bring to temp
  10. C3 is one of the more difficult soy waxes to work with but the scent throw is great.
  11. If you have tunneling then your wick isn’t large enough. C3 requires larger wicks than other wax. Try HTP wick and pour at 160. You may have to try different pour temp in your locale. If you can figure out pour temp it can pour smooth with nice top however when you burn it looks like typical soy and crunchy top unless you modify the wax. C3 burns with little bubble in it, make sure you eat the wax enough until you see the bubble disappear. I have not used rrd wicks they may or may not work.
  12. Before you throw in the towel. Did you get in new wicks? Did you get in wicks from a different supplier? Did you use any of the new updated fragrances? I have found different suppliers have different wicks even though they are named the same.
  13. Dowanal TPM is a solvent. These plug ins work like a reed diffuser. In order for the reeds to soak up and diffuse the fragrance the oil must be diluted to a certain amount that makes it work with the reeds. Too much the reeds clog, just enough the fragrance wicks and evaporates. Each fragrance, has been tested with a ration of fo to solvent to work SAFELY with the plug in device. I would NOT recommend trying to hack wallflowers. I believe their solvent is European and not available to consumers.
  14. I would not sell a candle tin with a wick like that. Bigger candle makes sense.
  15. Your poured too cool and the percentage of beeswax maybe too high. You can do one test pouring at higher temp and see if you still get decent adhesion, if That doesn’t work lower the percentage of beeswax to 2.5 per cent and test again. You could also try adding a percentage of stearic acid. Figuring out the percentage you can use the calculators on Wholesale Supplies plus, 5ey have two batch and percentage. Makes the math easy or what the heck just ask Alexa 😂
  16. Uh this candle is for sale online. Yikes, that’s some torch of a wick!

  18. If you are making healing claims about your products you myst read this https://www.mariegale.com/healing-claims-ingredients/ “When you say that an product ingredient can heal, you are making the same claim for the product itself, so it becomes an unapproved new drug. As a perfect example, the FDA issued a warning letter to Sevani Botanica in mid-July in which most of the cited issues had to do with statements made about the essential oils in the products. Granted, the letter says there may be other issues (and looking at their webiste, I can see there probably were), but those were the ones they thought important enough to note in the letter. From the FDA warning letter:....” Read link for more info
  19. The premier wicks you tested are too small for C6 you will have two go up a couple sizes for it to burn correctly in the jar. C6 has soy and behaves more like soy than paraffin. The wicks you tested are good for paraffin blends.
  20. I use the high temp glue. For tins the bottom I pour cooler so the wick don’t unstick. You don’t have to worry so much as clear glass with adhesion issues. I wick down on tins because they heat up. First two curbs there is hang up but then all melts lower down in tin. i have a great heat gun from either Lowe’s or Home Depot you can’t miss it - it’s listed as fast heat up and it’s amazing.
  21. Where do you live? I know I could not do it in our barn as we live upstate New York. No way! I assume you garage has no heat? Possible fire hazard with cars, wax, fragrance oils, and presto pots. Maybe your town has some kind of craft center, or a space you couldn’t work out of.
  22. Coconut wax takes a longer time to solidify than other wax types. You can test fast after pouring but you will need to retest a couple of days later for wicks. Coconut also does tend to leave film on glass compare to other waxes. Coconut blends all have to be tested with different types of wicks. You add anything to the wax it can really change how you wick it.
