Candles like a nice warm room to cool down in. I found you let a candle cool down over night in a chilly room you will shrink your wax and get wet spots. Make sure you pay close attention to the temp of the wax every time you pour. Some waxes like a high temp some low for good adhesion. Also adding too much fragrance oil can ruin adhesion. Start around 6 per cent of fragrance for your wax. What I find super handy is a digital gun thermometer - you can online cheap or go to Home Depot Lowe’s to get one - it’s a lot easier to get correct and fast readings using one of these. Some waxes are prone to wet spots. A good wax with excellent adhesion is C3but it has other quirks you have to work through. Read through the boards. Candle making its like trying to play at Carnegie Hall! Practice, practice, practice.

Candle Science does not have a chart for palm wax and these wicks. For those of you with experience with these two wicks, which size of Htp are like CSN? Do CSNs burn hotter than HTP in palm, or should I say burn more efficiently in palm. Thanks for the help!

There are PVC and PET clamshells. If you are unhappy with them contact the supplier and explain the situation. There are many manufacturers of clamshell, and I bet most are important and the quality will vary. If one supplier you buy from has clamshells that are issue, switch supplier. I recently had issue with one number of HTP wick, and they all were pulling out of the wick tab every time I poured. Contacted supplier explained the issue and I got refund.

The wax is super hard! You could throw the container on cement break the glass and not budge the candle. Palm needs hot wick! I have a Wellington Slatkin dupe Cranberry Woods. It’s delish. Works in all wax that I have tried. Have to say this was the easiest thing to pour but it has to be poured super hot and you do have to do that floppy thing, but no big deal. Put a timer on' waited an hour flipped. I have other wicks but they will not burn hot enough even the eco largest I don’t think is hot enough for this stuff.

Did another burn different day still hang up. It’s Htp 1212, I think I can go up to 1312 and it would burn cleaner. jeesh you certainly can not budge this wax out of glass. I wicked a smaller jar and knew it wasn’t even going to burn, attempted to dig out wax. FAIL! Love cold throw in these candles.

You do have to test for sure like any other fragrance. I have been making a Smokey blend, and the addition of that fragrance with base, I had to go up two sizes. It was not apparent immediately, only after a good long burn.

Here is my tester with htp wick. Do people wick for complete melt on the sides? This was two long burns. I could go up a size. i did get a bubble burp when burning but the wax filled in immediately.

I love ginger fig. Apple blossom is nice for very light spa candles.

Okay poured some palm containers today. Thank you for that info on flipping for the bubble. Slightly nerve Wracking! Is there anyway of getting rid of the air Bubbles. I have not burned yet, but testing htp wicks. Love the super hot pour. Still waiting for cool down, but I have really good cold throw. Exciting.

Etsy isn’t the world without going into detail. And mind you every summer they love to let their techs run wild and run stupid tests costing you money, so you better spread your wings in selling. Your new mantra Multiple Streams of income to acquire your own customer base. If you only sell on Etsy, you’re doing it wrong. You must have your own legit web presence. Your own website can give you your own identity and you own the customers. Yes, when Etsy started in with The shenanigans with the past CEO it really screwed itself, Sellers and customers. Fact. You will pay multiple fees everywhere so factor in those prices and shipping costs.

It’s not just Etsy. All the platforms have mega fees. And add in advertising costs! Most sellers on Etsy don’t have ave a clue to price correctly. You can sell cheap and hope you do mega volume or price what you think your stuff is worth. So get volume sales going or raise prices. The way to get people to buy higher priced items is you have to have a niche and be better than the rest. Or sell cheap and hope for the best. To make the most profit is making a product cheaply, quickly with high markup.

I love Fillmore. They are fast shippers and their shipping prices have now become reasonable. C3 is a good wax, harder than 415. Both have good scent throw. C3 has amazing glass adhesion btw.

I don’t know any dupes but get sample for sure. I purchased Bay Rum from NG and it was so far from Bay Rum. Also Badedas only one supplier and it it is way way off.

Like I need another wax project going on..but these are great holiday gifts for people. So festive looking.

Haha no did not get feather or crystal, it’s just called palm container from Candlewic. Not attempting pillars of anything yet. Do you do that floppy thing for the air bubble? And thanks for advice to get meltpool halfway down. When I first tried palm the burn really threw me off and I stopped all attempts, but I love the colors and patterns.

I read about the flip method. So I make sure the top is solidified enough then flip over?

I just can’t help it! Purchased some palm container wax. Palm burns differently from soy, yes? Does it need to burn edge to edge like soy or will it burn more like a pillar? Should I add coconut oil to help the burn? My one attempt years ago was a bit of a fail, but I did love the throw in it. I have htp, cd, and eco wicks to try. Thanks for the help!

To make it simple work with one pound of wax. Add one drop of color to wax and blend. 5en do as suggested take some drop out and drip on paper and see what color it solidifies to. If you like that color record that it took xx drops to make that shade. If you are doing by weight you can be very accurate but this would require a large batch, as measuring drop weight is pretty difficult.

You still have not provided enough information. Why is this too hard? Is this to be cut or lit as is? How is this to be melted? Maybe too hard is good you don’t want wax flooding a table with burning wicks. What are your ingredients - types of wax, types of wick. What is the proposed outcome for this cake?

Yes I like paraffin with color, and soy without because of frosting. Dropper systems only for sure.

Yes, white is perfect for the lid. Works with the season and artwork. Could be straight white without distressing.

They are doing it by weight and assuming you are making large batches so it wouldn’t be that hard to measure out. Smaller batches difficult. Yes devise your own system. So if one drop to 8 ounces makes the lighter color, then you will use two drops per pound if that makes sense. So you are going to use parts instead of weight for measuring.
