  1. Not a fan of the pumpkins either and most are obnoxiously strong BUT people love them for fall. You could try blending with cinnamon and doing 50-50 or less ratio and see if gets more tolerable. If you hate go towards the Apple cinnamon route.
  2. I have started working LX wicks. Need some help with equivalent LX to HTP. I can’t seem to find any charts anywhere! Thanks in advance.
  3. Yes CD wick 16 plus or minus one depending on fragrance additives can work. You don’t need 9 per cent with C3. Try 6 as other suggested.
  4. Have test burned candles without sealant? If the cement is thick enough it may not ever be an issue. I had to imagine that the wax fills certain pores in the cement, and then it’s a done deal. Have not tried its theoretical.
  5. Try 105, 126 and see if you like the burn. I would test two fragrances at same time. It can tell you a lot.
  6. Hmm. This is also a lesson for firestarters made from leftover wax. I would never use them in a wood stove or fireplace. All the different waxes going up you nice expensive chimney and would be terrible to have chimney fire because of them. Best be leaving those for the campsite. If you ever had to put in a chimney liners it’s expensive and you baby your wood stove and chimney.
  7. That looks underwicked to me after three hours. C3 requires larger wicks that other waxes. I would go up to Cd 18 and see if you get a full meltpool 2-3 hours. Also try another fragrance that does not have vanilla as those I always seem to need to wick up on. C3 candles have great cold and hot throw but the wax is quirky. Great adhesion but little bubbles in the wax. Do you have any htp wicks?
  8. Candle making isn’t a rush job craft. Your wicks should be in plastic bags with the number size of the wick. If you don’t know which size wick to use, then contact Flaming Candle and ask which size wick you need to use with which glass. Then you need to read how to make a candle safely. You cannot heat wax on the stovetop. It needs to be in a double boiler and you MUST use a thermometer.
  9. Labels serve a couple purposes. Identification - candle, type, weight, scent Branding - Name of Company and design. Think of the labels as the personality identifier. I would use a paper label for a candle, the plastic type for bath and body might not work with glass and heat. Gloss or matte or kraft doesn’t really matter as long as you get a label that sticks. Trust me you do have to test this as not all labels are created the same with adhesives. I would recommend proprinting or laser printing. Inkjet is water soluble so damp hands could mess up the label.
  10. Exactly and if it was warm enough the wax melted! Also and stuff in the wax. I see so many people chucking matches in the candle, HUH?
  11. And match debris! People do this all the time and leave wick trimmings in wax. It’s possible that’s what happened. Wait and see what the candle looks like when it gets back to you.
  12. She had it on her stovetop. Maybe surface was hot and melted the candle wax more than normal. People do some crazy things then blame sellers. Do you have anymore of the candles from the batch? If not make another one and try and recreate scenario and see if was formula wick.
  13. Sealant for sure could be an issue. Also sealant could be issue with fragrance oils that can dissolve lots of things well like sealant and you may not want sealant burning off in candle fumes! This could be a toxic issue. Yes for sure glue wicks down. You never want a floating wick in wax. Test okay but NOT final product. You could try and soften the wax up with coconut oil and see if a softer wax helps adhesion. if you do you have to retest wicks.
  14. Try LX wicks again. I like them better in 4630 than htp. Nicer looking cleaner burn.
  15. Do you know the fragrance note of the old one. You haven’t totally lost out, you could get it duped then add the eliminator additive.
  16. Are you pouring at same temperature? Try one hot, and one cool. See if that does the trick
  17. WHAt Wax are you working with and what was pour temp. And what diameter of jar. I found if you find the sweet spot with pout Enos sinkholes go away.
  18. Consistency. Not every candle oil is going to throw well. You have to test them. Some you have to wick differently to burn well. i would suggest testing another wax. By testing waxes you really learn more about different types paraffin versus soy, and ratios. It will test your patience. Haha don’t believe the myth making candles the easy way!
  19. So now you have tried with 6006. Try something else. problend and soy is good and YOU have better control of the ratio blend. I tested one wax for a year then ditched it, it wasn’t doing what I wanted. Yes, and wi5 YouTube observe but it’s not the final answer. Hot throw how did you test what size room? I burn candles in an open kitchen but to test throw I go to the top of my stairs and that’s where if they throw the fragrance goes up to and lingers. If you have a draft that changes things. If you have been burning too many candles at once your nose just can’t pick up the scents anymore.
  20. I didn’t know the Lavender Chamomile went away, it’s nicely strong. And sadly the CS Gardenia which I have not found a replacement for. I got a sample of the new Gardenia Tuberose but have not tested. OOB not the same strength of creaminess of the original gardenia.
  21. I need a new cutter, and was using an angled jewelry one years ago but can’t seem to find the same on online. Was using a wick trimmer lately but it mangles new wicks. You guys have any favorites? Scissors don’t work for me.
  22. C6 doesn’t need anything. It’s designed to be one pour. If you want to use it try different wick types.
  23. When I was using 464, I got great results pouring hot. The tops would pour completely smooth. You have tried mid temps, try hotter.
  24. I doubt its 100 per cent soy. Soy blend. It soots like crazy. C3 will always have little bubbles that’s the wax. Also beeswax and palm stearin. You probs don’t need. C3 is a hard wax already. Pour candle and wait a couple days before finger test.
