  1. Rose water is the safest as long as you use quickly and not let sit around. Some are preserved for longer shelf life The base you mentioned has food ingredients. You might be sensitive to phenoxyethanol preservative. I am on the face. The dimethicon copolyol is a water soluble silicone that will leave a nice after feel finish on skin. It may be sticky due to the glycerin listed as one of the first ingredients but it is a humectant as well as sodium PCS Deionized Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Sodium PCA, Cetrimonium Chloride, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Organic Calendula Officinalis (Marigold) Flower Extract, Organic Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey) Root Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Dead Sea Salts, Dimethicone Copolyol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol
  2. Try premier wicks. I tested coconut wax blends and these have become my favorite wicks. Not all those other wicks are happy campers with coconut.
  3. Also the pricing for that wax is ridiculous. Formulate your own!
  4. Wow that is horrible news. You really have to start blending your own so you won’t be at the mercy of these companies. And heading into Holiday production. Sounds like people ordered very early and depleted stock.
  5. Try the Aztec one. It’s stronger than Flaming.
  6. Got the Aztec revised and it’s great and strong. Did not like Flaming candles not strong enough. i don’t bother with Wholesale supplies, I hate their pricing model and their prices.
  7. Regarding shipping. You can ship super fast I feel you calculate box size and save. In packing streamline everything to cut time down. I reorganized my shipping station computers and label printer so I can bang out shipments super fast.
  8. Yes tins are easy to make, and the seller wants to make profit by volume. But I hope the seller is getting super cheap supplies. It’s one way of getting reviews, then adding more expensive products down the road. Some people do cheapies as loss leaders to get you into store, whether Etsy or Bath and Bodyworks. I will say make sure you price so you can afford to have Sales, pay for your website or Etsy shop and promotion/advertising and can offer free shipping. Also that seller is selling lots of tarts which will rack up a high number of sales. They are super cheap. There will always be the cheapest and highest products selling. Know your product, estimate costs etc and price. Of course know you’re market. It’s always a tricky combination.
  9. Any strong Sandalwood recommendations? Got one from Flaming and it’s very weak.
  10. You want to use one photo then switch out the label? You have to get good at photoshop or it looks fake fake.
  11. I buy a tonic supplies from them. Have not ordered the palm from them yet because experimenting with pure soy wax in soap instead of palm. Me likes it.
  12. Funny I liked the premier wicks best in 4630, followed by htp and CDs. The lx were okay but liked the burn better with the premiers plus you can really fine tune the wick there are so many sizes. Bought some 6006 to play with and the premiers were a huge fail for me.
  13. I just got the web restaurant coconut oil! Very happy with that price and purchase. Even Soapers Choice gets greedy. All these online stores should know that people shop around for best price in product and shipping. i just stopped purchasing from a box company because they knew I always buy a certain size and started to mark up that box size. I was really mad when I looked at my shopping cart and the box I like was MORE than a larger size I was buying at the same time. Crossed off that supplier.
  14. He’s cranking out videos for YouTube content. YouTube forces you to add content often if you’re getting paid advertising. What happens is there is not a lot of time for proper testing, and then to give out the right information to people. I am sure he is here reading posts of good information and hopefully produce better and safe content. As far as his candles go, that’s just not good without a warning label. His YouTube channel competes with TimberRidge camo shirt dude.
  15. Unfortunately BA is very pricey with most things, and spotty with performance shipping out items, and is always out of stock of things. so yes Soapers Choice still the choice.
  16. It sounds like you poured in area that is very warm and the candles remain soft, or you added too much fragrances oil. All waxes can handle only certain amounts.
  17. Many vegans do not want to use products with beeswax. There are vegan waxes.
  18. I found it wasn’t a straight shot wax, and found it frosted in a month so I stopped experimenting with it. It’s not bad, the tops are not as perfect as you would hope them to be with this wax..
  19. Slightly off topic. Just saw video by Brambleberry, which is a respectable supply house. However her candle tin tutorial had unsecured floating wicks. Just pour the wax and plop your wicks in. This is a candlemaking kit.
  20. I would only use pine cone firestarters in outside firepits. You are asking for trouble using in wood stoves and indoors. A good way to ruin and chimney or liner.
  21. Here’s a thought. Two pour candle. Bottom 6006 plus percentage of soy or stearic Top 6006 You want the bottom to not burn as fast with wick for top, so harden up lower with with above. then pour top layer just 6006. It could be done I think, but pain to test!
  22. I don’t use 6006 but think it’s a blend of 4630 and soy. Did you try Cd, and htp series? Htp 126, 1212 depending on fragrance. Higher cd 18, 20, 22. I can see the issue because of tapering you need a happy medium so it doesn’t tunnel.
  23. One of my favorites is a soap maker who has video on candlemaking. It consists of taking votive candle sticking them in a container then pouring soy wax on top of them. Instacandle! Yikes. Reddit, also some very bad advice and bad candle.
  24. Slightly off and on topic. I suffered from migraines. 3 - 5 day ones. Hid under the covers with a heat pack on my head type. I tried every prescription medicine out there. Did magnesium etc. What worked. Was iodine insufficient! I used iodoral, then found out hypothyroid. If you suffer look into it. Iodoral also works for painful breast syndrome ( I’m fun tonight). Started taking it and it was a miracle cure for me. Lots of info on web. If you are of a certain age, get thyroid checked. If you are what they call in range you can suffer symptoms, which is what happened to me and I was ignored by doctor.
  25. Cd wicks burn much like htp wicks. Lx wicks to me burn very clean and tidy. Try testers with other jars and compare. Or adjust the wax, add some soy and clean up The paraffin.
