  1. C3 is not simply a melt and pour wax. You must pour according to chart somewhere in 160 degrees and you must know your ambient temp in room. I use a digital room thermometer so I know what temp my room is so I can adjust pour temp. This is not just for C3 but any wax. C3 is an amazing wax but it has a learning curve but if you have patience you will get candles with rock solid adhesion great cold and hot throw for soy. Other soys recommendation pour at lower temp not C3 if you want perfect tops. c3 is known for champagne bubble in wax. You need to heat the wax up and wait for the the bubbles to dissipate.
  2. Try an Egyptian musk. Very similar to the Bonne Belle. Sometimes you can find it on EBay.
  3. Don’t scrap it. Try another at 20 percent and see how you like it! And def try a batch with salt. Salt coconut bars are great. Warning ready to cut in an hour and best poured in molds not loaf.
  4. I always make mine 20 percent super fat. That seems to be the popular percentage. You could make a batch with 20 and test against 30. I add sodium lactate in all my soaps as well. If you want to try a nice soap, do 20 percent super fat and then add half weight salt for a salt bar!
  5. Agree Brambleberry is is super slow too. I don’t get that considering on much eye room temperature their website.
  6. Additionally the prices on their silicone molds. Super expensive.
  7. I hate ordering from them. Their business model of so called free shipping then adding a $5.00 handling fee is ridiculous. on top of that they are slow at shipping I wonder how they actually stay in business. It takes one to two weeks sometimes, really? Ship and handling fees and slowpoke service are a no go with me. They are at the bottom of my list for suppliers too many great ones. Natures Garden is a good one. Super fact, excellent customer service, no baloney padding fees.
  8. The last round of ecosoya waxes they reformulated. Wow, talking of soy wax that I thought was the worst - well there were many people who thought the wax was great. You do have to test for yourself because everyone has a different level of taste of what is acceptable and also what kind of enviroment you work in. If you are into making candles. Buy a couple bags of different types of soy and pour a number of samples - you can learn a lot about candlemaking, wicks and candles by doing so. It’s not just the wax either. There are post and posts and about different wicks working with different waxes!
  9. I have a dehydrator. Guess what it’s really good for? Speed drying cold process soap bars. Yep works great 😍😍😍😍
  10. Both waxes can be good. C3 needs patience, 464 easier to use. C3 hard wax, 464 softer. You should try samples of both to determine what you can work with
  11. My suggestion go down. When you get half way with some of the coco blends the bottom half is the problem area. You might have to wick way further down than you think - I think of coconut like a paraffin. If you treat it as such you will have an easier time wicking.
  12. Seems to me you have too much fragrance. Drop down to 6 per cent. You are cutting the 464 with the coconut wax which may vary a lot. I would do a tester and try that before throwing in the towel. You may not need a high load of fragrance with the wax combinations.
  13. Yes they told me that and will offer decent sample sizes.
  14. I was told the beads from candles and supplies were only coconut and soy, but they feel like they have beeswax in them. FYI I like coconut 92 never had issue with seepage. I didn’t like the easy beads at all in wax, that’s just me and I really can’t stand the idea of in consistency.
  15. I think this will be limited to Candle Science. They probs sell more 464 and this is their way to discontinuing it. C3 is too popular.
  16. Hoestly I think this is more about what kind of deals they can make with manufacturers. Cargill C3 is one of the best most consistent soy waxes.
  17. They need to be sealed in a box or similar to contain the fragrance. Making scents with essentials oils you have to make blends with anchoring notes and they will last longer.
  18. Did you blend the fragrance in very well? Could be the fragrance not binding with wax. Yes, and new batch of wax could be culprit. You could take wax out heat up to 180 -185 and blend super well pour and see if that helps
  19. This wax soots.to make it less sooty you should add some soy, try 15 per cent. It will help. What I see with many paraffin candles is a solid dark container, maybe not the look you want. It’s a toss up with this wax, great color and throw, paraffin soot. Lx can work nicely in the wax and it’s a pretty wick. You can still get great color adding more soy, test and see where this stops. More soy less soot.
  20. No interest in selling, you can buy by the gallon ready for use for resale but want to make for personal use. Bulk apothecary sells a gallon for $3.95!
  21. Yes,Saw the difference in mph and would get for whatever recipe calls for. Saw list of problem essential oils. Very much like making shampoo! Do you preserve?
  22. I think you can label waterless hand cleanser versus hand sanitizer. You could also contact base makers and ask about labeling requirements if reselling.
  23. Take 4 ounces and do .5 per cent and see how it blends. Shouldn’t be an issue, but every formulation is different. You should NOT put in a lot of essential oils! If it blends ok then you can calculate other amounts for different scents. Some eo wil cloud others will not. You have to test.
  24. Why Don’t you ask Bulk Apothecary?
