  1. I played with 4630 for a bit, but then ditched it as it was very plasticy to me. It never burned all that well for me so it’s out the door. And 4627!
  2. Ok a/b testing. Now it could be the dye. I just poured testers with dye, and those with dye do change some. Pour same fragrance no dye and see what happens. You do have a dip. Me thinks dye load. If it pours okay without dye, you choice would be to heat gun top to level.
  3. There is a company, I bought those caps but it was a couple years back. Do a google search. They have a minimum and the caps arrive in giant, like giant box so may not be good for you. Sorry I can’t help you with name!
  4. Here’s what I think. Having poured five million test candles. Some will look funky without the wick. Once you put wick it they can be back to normal. Try that same candle wax and pour with wick and see if it changes. That photo also looks like it didn’t cool complete ply in middle. Did heat gun and see if it smooths out, if it does I would not get too crazy.
  5. I think you need to pour hotter try 170 for that wax. It starts to congeal faster under that temp.
  6. You can blend the aloe with isopropyl, the alo can only hold so much alcohol. Also you MUST blend it with a hand blender or it will stay watery. Do not expect plain string for it to incorporate. The carbomer in formulas needs a good blend.

  8. The aloe gel and isopropyl makes great sanitizer, the issue all of it’s gone online! I have made the sanitizer with both, the key is you must with stick blend of use hand blender and then works perfectly. You can use high proof vodka too. The aloe has carbomer and tea. I have preneutralized carbomer but honestly mixed the two above was perfect just like Purell. There is shortage of aloe, and isopropyl everywhere. People went nuts.
  9. Also nuts! Babassu palm, (Attalea martiana, A. oleifera, or A. speciosa), tall palm tree with feathery leaves that grows wild in tropical northeastern Brazil. The kernels of its hard-shelled nuts are the source of babassu oil, similar in properties and uses to coconut oil and used increasingly as a substitute for it. Brittanica.com You could do an olive oil soap. One ingredient. This will be low lather but you could add sodium lactate to firm it up, some beeswax or stearic also. Some sugar for bubbles. There is a chart somewhere online that someone made soaps of single oils and it lists all properties. I think it’s on Flickr. Here is some additional soapmaking info Here is the link. First is the recipe then scroll to see photos how each bar behaves also this http://curious-soapmaker.com/big-test-100-one-oil-soaps-part-i.html
  10. HTP wicks numerically is it 105 1212 1312 126 or 105 126 1212 1312
  11. I played around with some squares. I found two wicks didn’t quite cut it, but was using C3. When I was fooling around I still got Hangup in two corners. I think if you do a paraffin or some soft Parasoy blend two could cut it. If not Maybs 4! You have to test!
  12. For fun did some experiments. Even doing 50 50 this is still a super soft wax. But it behaves better and wickable. At 15 per cent soy, the wax burns way too fast IMHO. No one want to buy a candle that burns that fast especially if you Want to charge higher dollar amount for it. At 50 per cent, I would like to see that candle stand up to summer heat.
  13. I contacted Accublend and they said easy beads is Vegan! No beeswax or tallow.
  14. What I am saying if you are primarily using only coco83 you will have problems, no way around it. You can blend the wax to be acceptable without turning into torch. If the wax the majority is coconut in a tall jar it will be an issue wicking. The wax is softer than 4627 and burns significantly faster once melted.
  15. I think some of the issues could be Containers. If you switch for example to a a shallower container you will be able to wick more easily. deeper containers the lower half starts to runaway. I do think though the idea is nice straight coconut the reality is different.
  16. I believe only accublend makes the wax. They would supply cal wax and candles and supplies. This is a trade name, so you can’t just label coco83. Calwax gets from accublend that’s their distributo. Accublend says if you buy direct you have to purchase large quantities.
  17. The producer of the wax is accublend in California. http://www.accu-blend.com/ If you have a concern call them or email them. I just learned from them the wax is vegan and tallow, and beeswax free
  18. The solar salts are great. They hold fragrance a long time, and you can color them with micas. I have not put mine through summer so do not know if the humidity causes an issue with them weeping. I love those scent burst idea. Most of those air freshener in bags are the same as kitty litter. Clay or corn cob based. have not tried but you could dye, or hahah die trying!
  19. FYI This wax is vegan, no beeswax or tallow in formula.
  20. I buy unscented babwipes from Costco and add 70 percent alcohol to them. They make great cleaning wipes. Don’t use 91 per cent, it dries too fast. You just add a big splash in a package.
  21. I pieced up some of coco83. I would never use this wax straight. It’s way way too soft. BUT as an additive, or part of a wax formula which I am playing with now I like it. It seems to me like it has some beeswax in it as it has that texture you get with a salve or balm. I did not even try this wax straight. My first tester was coco83 with 15 per cent soy and that burned way too fast.
  22. No I have not found that so. Some waxes you can use multiple types. Others they are wick specific. Then add additives and you get different results.
