  1. For each of those waxes, you do need to try different wick series. Yes, they smoke. 4627 smokes a lot. If you want less smoke blend with soy for those jars.
  2. My favorite nightmare is a person I know lights candles then throw the wood match in meltpool! Um many candles with many matches in meltpool all over house! Stealth clean up has to correct problem candles. Also us trimmed etc.
  3. C3 likes htp wicks. You can modify your C3. Cut it with another soy wax and see how you like the burn. Each wick series will burn in wax differently. Try htp wicks and see how you like, then if close adjust the wax. My experience C3 candles are tougher to burn in open jars that are three inches plus.
  4. Agree with Candybee, also Goats milk in melt and pour. Nice idea but it has a preservation issue. Better idea to get Goat milk soap base that has preservative added. Adding a ton of oils and butters will kill lather in the soap and you will get a rubbery soap not a hard one.
  5. From what I see this looks like a ton of additives, but it could also be a temp issue with the additives. Also looks like milk curdled. For good soap certainly melt and pour you don’t need that many additives to make it feel great. If you insist in adding that many things you should make lye soap. As other people have said, every base is different and they are not designed for you add excessive oils, butters and liquids. They are designed to be used with some fragrance natural or synthetic and some dry additives.
  6. It sounds like you are wicking the C3 like other soy waxes. Not the same. You have to go up often 2 - 3 sizes. It can take a long time to burn to edge. Make a tester and let burn for three hours. Not reaching edges then go up wick size. This is a slow burn Wax.
  7. Couple charts online here is one for carrier oils https://www.essentialwholesale.com/pdf/Carrier_Oil_Chart.pdf
  8. Okay do some checking. This makes me insane. Bulk Apothecary says their FCO is Coconut oil but fine prints also says Palm derived. Fractionated Coconut Oil Also known as MCT Oil or Medium Chain Triglycerides is a fraction of the whole coconut oil. To be exact, fractionated coconut oil has the long chain triglycerides like lauric acid removed retaining the capric and caprylic acids. In the past few years Bulk Apothecary has grown to become one of the nation's largest manufacturers and suppliers of Fractionated coconut oil. We have the ability to supply gallons all the way up to multiple truckloads on a single order. We typically stock 100,000 lbs. or more that's available for quick shipment out of multiple strategically located U.S. warehouses. Our Fractionated Coconut Oil (MCT Oil - Medium Chain Triglycerides) is made from the highest quality coconuts and possibly has numerous personal and industrial applications. MCT can also be derived from Palm Oil through the esterification process. Which ever base product is used the end product has the same fatty acids that provide the characteristics that make MCT Oil so popular. Fractionated Coconut Oil is clear and odorless leaving no greasy feeling. Furthermore, it does not stain and easily washes out of sheets and clothing making it and ideal choice for massage clients. It's also important to note that fractionated coconut oil does not become solid like regular coconut oil but keeps all the great properties and has a very long shelf life. Our Fractionated Coconut Oil is one of the most versatile oils. It's commonly used as a moisturizer, for essential oil blend recipes, in lip balms and used commonly in soap making applications. It's also used as a natural deodorant, for face wash, as hair conditioner, as eye makeup remover, aromatherapy and many other household uses. But the single most common use for fractionated coconut oil is as a carrier for other ingredients. Because it's clear and odorless it doesn't interfere with properties of other ingredients. No need to be divided on this. Buy your Fractionated Coconut Oil (MCT Oil - Medium Chain Triglycerides) from Bulk Apothecary today, because quality is everything! 9. Soapers Choice changed the MCT oil last time I looked it was palm derived, and not what they used to carry. It still works like true fracionated coconut oil. They do not carry it under coconut oil anymore. Cost/LB: $3.2000 SAP Value: KOH: .334 NaOH: .237 MCT Oil, Medium Chain Triglycerides is made from palm kernel. B personal care products, massage oil blends. MCT's is an excellent carrier for oil for essential oils. It is great to use for all types of skin care, bath and body care products and to make natural perfumes.
  10. So you have to determine effective formula, cost of making it, shelf life! All natural or partially so. I like the feel of silicones but many people don’t want them in products anymore.
  11. When I was testing I was liking CSN 16. It burned like above which I personally like. Thinner shell then a burn like a normal candle bottom half.
  12. "Fast: flaxseed, rosehip, hemp seed, evening primrose, rice bran. Fast-Medium: grapeseed, argan, camellia, meadowfoam and baobab." Many of these oils have short shelf life and or costly to use in deodorants. When formulating consider how long your product has to be good for, Just the the addition of ROE on some of these oils don't make them last all that longer.
  13. Castor oil is not a glidey oil. It's more occlusive and thick and will work in lip balms as a good emollient. You can create glide by selecting different waxes and other oils. You can add arrowroot powder that will create a drier feeling deo based on waxes and oils. If you do not go all natural IPM is nice for glide and dry feeling.
  14. Fracionated coconut oil, hazel nut oil (this is a dryish feeling oil). Avocado is a heavy oil Hemp has short shelf life and its a little on stinky side

Now take your candle formula you might be doing by hand, and put in the calculator total candles 36 oz wax percentage additive percentage fragrance percentage calculate print perfect candles every time and accurate. For test candles get a scale that handle tiny amounts.
  16. I think th e answer seems ambient temp. If cooling your candles in your kitchen that is 68-70 that tells you that is optimal temp for your formula. So if your studio is cooler than that then use a space heater to get room up to that temp when making and cooling for a good couple hours in cool down period. Then when you are ablt to move candles bring them to warmer part of house.

You can and should use a calculator for candles to be precise. Especially if you use additives as some you would only use small amount for test and small batches. Fragrance oils should be weighed as well not eyeballed or put in teaspoons etc. so same thing in calculator Amount for batch needed then percentage of each of below to add up to 100 percent. candle wax addtive xx candle wax no 2 fragrance oil color then calculate and print voila!
  18. Peggy do a repour and see how the tester candles are. I think you have issues adding too much fragrance - ask me how I know. 6 percent is really good for most fragrances. If you still get seepage with the repour you could add more soy wax. Also suggest you heat your space. Use a space heater and remelt and cool in warmed space for at least four hours. Other thoughts - are you sure you mixed in the fragrance at 180 degrees really really well? Also if you have cool room use towels as insulating surface.
  19. I don’t think premiers, lx would wick hot enough for palm. CSN, CD, HTP.
  20. I would totally melt down again because hahah trying to get a skewer in that wax....though I have always done tester with glued in wicks as I couldn’t figure out how to test otherwise. With that wax. I guess wait until slushy then skewer then insert test wick. From my test I started with csn 16 for a 2.5 jar. Some people like a thick shell, then let it burn 2/3 and let out shell catch up and melt. Many opinions on this wax and wicks. I only make these for myself as the burn is very foreign to people who don’t know palm. I will say though the test candles I have made as the most fragrant! If you search the forums there are a number of posts for palm and using the flip method which works.

Do it by the weight inside bottle, so if weighs out at 1.5 then make a formula to hold that amount for bottle. Use the calculators at Wholesalesuppliesplus to help you creat formula. https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/Calculators/Batch_Size_Calculator.aspx You would type in fragrance 9 percent base 91 per cent Total bath volume 1.5 calculate This will give you amount you need to mix for bottles. Use weight only to be accurate. now do the same for diffuser bottle. Find weight of liquid for inside bottle use calculator again diffuser base fragrance room spray bases may or may not hold 9 per cent of fragrance, you have to test fo.
  22. You could hunt down a perfume mini, and then dupe for candles on your own. Minis can be bought on eBay
  23. Where did you get your pumps? I buy stuff from sksbottle and though they can be a bit more expensive, I have NOT had any fails with their products. I have been finding suppliers have been buying cheaper packaging meaning not as nicely manufactured. I would try and get samples from different suppliers and test.
  24. If you want fragrances the same quality as perfume you will be spending. Perfumery aroma molecules are very spendy especially the ones that give a “high end” scent. There are many good Jo Malone dupes btw. I would get samples from companies above and evaluate. Wellington would most likely manufacture for them. Aroma molecules you have to know what you’re doing, and they have very specific usage rates. I would not just chuck these into candles and expect they will work or that they are safe.
  25. Is this an ad? How very odd. People who enjoy candles will burn real ones not flame less.
