  1. Moonstar, I don't use vanilla stabilizer in my lotion, and the coconut milk fo does not make it turn brown. I use a lot of vanilla scents, they are my favorite, and have not had much of an issue with discoloration with lotion. I do however notice it with melt and pour soap, it will turn tan/brown with some fo's, just haven't tested using the vanilla stabilizer yet, but maybe I should. I'm just making these for me and family/friends, not selling, and I don't mind the discoloration.
  2. I have a hard time finding a nice honey scent, that is not too floral. I've tried the SC honey, and Peaks, but they all have a strong floral note that I just can't get past. I love the coconut milk from MMS, it is very strong in lotion, but haven't tried it yet in wax.
  3. I love Ginger Spice from WSP, not sure about ones from RE or NG (I tend to love the sweet bakery scents)
  4. I love both the Honey Almond and Vanilla Almond from WSP, and they hold up well in my melt and pour soaps. I have tried the Almond from SC, but it has a strong note in it that turns me off, it's one that I would have to mix with something else. Hope that helps!
  5. Candlewic also sells palm wax, I've been able to purchase from them or BCN.
  6. Just saw that VBN is on sale at WSP til tomorrow ?
  7. I personally love the M&P soaps from Candlewic, I believe they are the stephensons brand, (my favorite is the coconut milk), lathers up so well, feels great on my skin. Just passing along- I know there are so many options out there too.
  8. Congratulations TallTayl!! You will be wonderful in this position- so excited for you! Thank you also to Alan, and all others assisting on this board- so much knowledge, support, encouragement and inspiration that is shared which is much appreciated! I don't post much, but I check the board almost every day- I love seeing what everyone is doing and sharing- this board is a bright spot in my day!!
  9. these blends sound wonderful! thank you so much for sharing! You all are so creative with mixing different fo's. I've never tried anything from Flaming, just may have to check them out too
  10. So so sorry to hear this news- I learned so much from Vicky, she truly was an inspiration on this forum to me and so many others. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and to all that knew her- she will remembered and missed.
  11. I make this Body Frosting, and it is a heavier body cream (not edible!:) ), I put in other goodies so it blends in easily and is not greasy at all, love, love this recipe, and I get many compliments on it (I give as gifts to friends and relatives). I use it year round too. You can use any butter or oil, I have been wanting to try kokum butter (usually use shea and cocoa butters, and SAO). It is a wonderful cream!!
  12. I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't get any throw from this fo. I have been testing it in a 25 watt burner, and in pillar of bliss at 10%, cured for about 1 week (just testing out a new tart wax, to see how it performs), and it was very strong, i actually had to turn it off as if was getting too strong (which is unusual for me, I like my tarts strong!). I haven't tried the Butter Maple Oats Honey, I may have to order that next time...
  13. I love Vanilla Snowflake from AH, smells very similiar to the Camille Beckman vanilla lotion that I've been trying to match for so long. I sometimes mix it with French Vanilla (P) too, and that is yummy too.
  14. I had just order Butter Brickle, and poured it in a tart (I used pillar of bliss, just wanted to test it out), and it was very strong and yummy smelling! I hadn't tried it before, so it was a very pleasant surprise!
  15. thank you for letting me know- I was thinking of checking craft stores like Joann or Hobby Lobby, will try to stop in this week. I'll let you know if I find them- would be fun to work with these
  16. anyone know where to find tassels that you can scent on your own? Just saw these in a store too, and then saw this old thread. Let me know if anyone knows how to make these, they are a creative idea, and would love to know where to find them if possible
  17. I've used Peak's Leather mixed with vanilla, and it was strong and lasted... hope that helps
  18. I just used Cucumber Chaos (CC) in melt and pour soap, was very strong, really nice scent, I liked it more that I thought I would.... just another suggestion
  19. I love this topic, as I'm always looking for ways to get my laundry to smell fresher and cleaner. I'm assuming I could use the above mixture (vinegar and conditioner with fo) with my front loader, and put in the fabric softener compartment? Thanks so much for sharing this! (you gals are awesome!)
  20. Brambleberry, Bittercreek, Candle Cocoon, and Sweetcakes too (and all of the above), so many good ones out there!
  21. I love Peak's Birthday Cake, one of my favorites...
  22. Love their birthday cake, cranberry citrus, cucumber canteloupe, fresh linen, cranb marmalade- they have wonderful scents!
  23. also, check out Sweetcakes, they have very nice fragrances...
  24. I have Twigs and Berries from WSP, and it is very strong, but I haven't tried it from other suppliers to compare...
