  1. Get a q-tip and put a little of each scent on the ends and enclose it in a baggie for a few hours then open and sniff and see what you think. That's what I do with blends I'm trying that I'm not sure about. Works well.
  2. This is what I was going to say. Is your AC or Heater on? Do you have windows open where there is a breeze? Also as a candle burns down, and the oxygen gets thinner in the jar the flame can create it's own air movement as well. To me when it does this and none of the other factors are present, that indicates I may have an over-wicked candle.
  3. I love it. I think it's great, no need to fret.
  4. NICE! It looks like one of those circle optical illusions that you see. I like it.
  5. Mine wasn't a fail but it was so much work that it really just wasn't worth all the extra effort. HP always seems to be more bubbly to me in the shower, so mine even though it LOOKS like CP you can tell (or I can as a soapmaker) the difference between the two. Of course because I am the one that made them, it could just be because I know, you know? But I don't think so. LOL Sorry, I'm making sense in my head... Just not typing it out. LOL
  6. I don't do a zap test this early on, but I would think it would probably zap a bit if I did. I have never had a problem with morphing or fading scents doing it this way. That's the main reason I don't do the full vaseline stage of the cook with HP - when I'm done cooking mine it is cooked but still fluid enough to scoop and pour with no worries about lumps or bumps or the rustic look of HP. Also adding SL will help with the fluidity of HP. I have tried the "Byrdie Jean" method of using 50% water and the microwave to get it so fluid it feels just like CP but with a full cook and the extra water added after the cook. You can swirl and make it look exactly like CP, but for me, it was too much work for the little reward. Because I cure my HP soaps for the same amount of time that I do CP I would rather just do CP at that point.
  7. It's definitely there but it's not overpowering at all and the spice/fruit/crisp scent really lend itself to this scent. It has fast become my favorite.
  8. No, sorry CandyBee - I haven't had time or a chance to take and post the pics. If I get a chance I'll get it done tomorrow. ...
  9. I wouldn't recommend it. It would change the composition of the wick and also wax will only hold so much fragrance before it starts weeping. I doubt the little bit in the wick would OD the wax, but you never know, but furthermore, I don't think the tiny bit of scent you would get from a soaked wick would be worth it, and could cause smoking.
  10. I love the black and white. Very pretty Barbara!
  11. I only make paraffin (I don't use soy at all not even in a blend) and I cure for at least 4 days - most times 7-10. But I think 4 should be sufficient. You could always make 3 candles and cure 1 for 4 days, one for 7 and one for 10 and see how they turn out for you.
  12. Peak is one of my favorites too. I've been with them since their second or third week in business and will continue to purchase from them. I lucked into finding them, and am so happy to be local - they are amazing!
  13. LOL The last of the BB-Binge is on Sunday. And one of my favorite episodes as being one of the best/worst. Ozymandias. I practically cried over what happened to Hank. And then in turn what happened to Jesse. I say this very often - Vince Gilligan is a freaking genius! Anything he's had his hands in I've loved. P.S. - sorry to hijack the thread!!
  14. No, not a full suit! A gas mask and only in your tighty whitie underwear and a green shirt. With a rubber apron of course. *snort* OR OR OR You could call it the "The Cow House - you know, where the cows live. Their house" hehehe Sorry, BB was and still is one of my all-time FAVORITE shows. Love love love it.
  15. Breaking Bad Candle Company!!! I LOVE IT. Your tag like could be "We are the ones who knock" HAHAHA
  16. This is actually more likethe way I do my HP - but couldn't figure out how to phrase it. LOL But I cook for about 20-25 minutes. As long as your batter is at trace before cooking there is no need for a full cook. And like a lot of people, all of my HP soaps get a full cure just like my CP soaps do.
  17. SOS has one called Library or Old books or something like that. I've never smelled it but I've heard it's supposed to smell old paper.
  18. Try Aztec. Not sure if they have it but they have more BBW dupes than any supplier I've run across.
  19. I wouldn't quite say their prices go down per-say... ...
  20. yes. And the one Puma suggested sounds great too.
  21. I use ED's Orange Cinnamon FO. I love. Orangey, cinnamon, spice. Love it. It also soaps very well also.
  22. Yep, I used to do the same thing. Once I got the notebook, I still obsess but writing it down really does help. Then I know I don't have to think about it as much to remember the idea so I still think about it, but it's not an obsession.
  23. You are the one in the middle!! (and I only know this because of a different forum - I saw a pic of you about a year and a half ago on that forum!) Oh well, I guess if I would have continued to scroll past the first Christmas pic I would have seen the same pic I saw then - the back of the postcard. LOL
  24. I have used their Snow Witch, Dragon's Blood, Them Apples, Smoke & Mirrors and the EO Orange Valencia 5x. All of them are VERY STRONG! Both the DB and S&M I had to soap at only 3.5% because 1oz PPO would have gagged me. And so far, months later, there has been no fading. Because those are the first 2 scents of theirs I've used, I now only soap their FO's at 3.5%-4%. IMO the quality is very good, but with the continued price fluctuations they have, especially with their scents, I'm not sure how long I will use their scents. Now their mica's? I've use all of them except for a few and all so far have worked out very well. I love the unique names of them and the only one that has morphed on me is the lemon cupcake yellow - and really morphed is a misnomer. More like acted bizarre!! LOL While in the batter it turns a strange orange-y color, and you think "OH C*-^*"!!! - but then it will morph back to a beautiful lemon yellow. HTH
