  1. You crack me up. I LOVE making soap with embeds. It's so fun!
  2. Thank you! YOU are actually what inspired me with your blue, snowflake, Christmas soap you posted a few weeks ago. That soap is so gorgeous, it inspired me to try something, but I need the embeds to do it. And I absolutely fell in LOVE with Snow Witch when I smelled it OOB. It such a deliciously clean cool winter Christmas scent. I can't wait to use it. I am going to use it in a small batch this weekend, just not the one I'll do with the embeds. I'll think of something else until those come.
  3. I have, but I use a red hot cinnamon type cinnamon to mix with my vanilla and am not sure if that's what you are after. I've never smelled the AH/RE one. ( (AH/RE is Aroma Haven/Rustic Essentials) I have no idea how any suppliers Cinnamon Vanilla smells because I've always mixed my own.
  4. Maybe they are going to talk to the employee before responding just so they have both sides of the story and are fully aware? (Even though, really what can the employee say that would make that situation alright??) That's my only guess as to the delay. That OR they just have crappy CS now.
  5. I didn't want the plastic. I hate working with them, because I want to use this multiple times and with CP as well as M&P and the plastic candy molds just do not work the way I want them to for that application. You are so very sweet Trappeur! I've already ordered the purple one, but if you have one that is silicone, let me know how much you want for it, and I'd be happy to take it off your hands! Well?? Sort of.. (I mean, nothing against the movie or anything, I'm sure it's great and will see but I haven't seen it yet, (not sure I've even heard the damn Let it go song either) AND it irritates me to no end that OUAT is making that it's theme this coming season - GRRRRRRR - LOL - I know, I know!! I'm an oddball!! LOL) But yes, I want to use it with my Snow Witch scent from Mad Oils, and call it Rocky Mountain Snow.
  6. I think I found one. Boy - I am REALLY bad at searching! LMAO Anyway, I went ahead and got this one. I think *think* it will be perfect. Of course that's what I thought about the other one too. LOL
  7. Good idea! I have 8 shows between October and mid-December. It's just a tiny sample bag, but it is PUNGENT! That little bag smelled up the entire box and when I opened it, my entire kitchen...
  8. No, it's like resin chips. Not sure if they are supposed to be used in soap, in sachets, as like aroma beads or what, but I actually put them back in the muslin bag they sent them in (it's the bag they send all their samples in) and put it back in the box. Not sure what I'm going to do with them because I dislike them so much. LOL I went and looked and this is what is says about them, so I guess they are like incense chips?? I tried to save the picture but no such luck - here's the link and description - http://www.madoils.com/collections/botanicalsandadditives/products/frankincense-tears Frankincense Chips: Frankincense is the aromatic resin from the Boswellia Tree. The aroma of frankincense is warm woody, sweet and spicy. Frankincense has been used since ancient times in religious ceremonies. It is believe that Frankincense has medicinal and healing powers for numerous body ailments. When ground and burned or burned along with a charcoal incense starter, Frankincense can be the ultimate aromatic experience.
  9. Anything minty, pine or spicey tends to work for Christmas scents. I have about 15-20 that I can use for my Christmas/winter/fall line. My all-time favorite holiday scent is Cinnamon and Balsam from Peak.
  10. That has 3-4 cavities and preferably silicone. I got one from Amazon not too long ago and it was well, pretty, but not what I was looking for. This is it - but they are literally as small as a dime, and just as thin. I need something just a tad bigger and with a little more depth to it. However, I don't want it to be like 2"-3" deep. I just want it for embeds on top of my soap bars. Any suggestions? I am not the best google searcher, but I did try to find them and had no luck with etsy, ebay, amazon or van yulay, although VY is probably the closest I'm going to find to what I'm looking for... :-/
  11. Mad Oils sent some "Frankincense Tears" as a sample in my order and man, that's an awful scent! LOL Sorry! I guess I'm just not a Patch, Frank, Myrrh, etc., scent type of person because I do not like any of those scents... LOL Either that or I've just never smelled the right blend... :-/
  12. My favorites are probably Sweet Pea and Apple Blossom from Peak...
  13. I use square. I like it, and the fees are comparable to other merchant services.
  14. No, it didn't. People who don't work with pillars, or make them, probably don't know. There are no "dumb" questions. If you don't know, ask. It's the only way you learn! And a dark top to a light bottom could look good, it just looks better (IMO) with light to dark - like an Ombre effect.
  15. Because the bottom of the mold is the top of the candle..
  16. Thanks Scented! The ones in the pdf files are the updated ones, and I think I will go with the "Smaller Labels" ones. (with everything readjusted to be centered) I can't really do much with the logo as far as design. I mean, I could, but I actually really like it as is. And if I changed it, I wouldn't do it, I'd have my niece's boyfriend do it for me. LOL Once I get the sample from Online Labels, and get them printed, I'll show another pic of the completed design on a candle. I appreciate everyone's input. Thank you!
  17. I mix my own using Purely Peppermint mixed with Warm Vanilla Sugar. LOVE IT.
  18. All of this information is invaluable!! Thank you all so much. Because I can't use the M&P for extended periods, therefore testing becomes difficult it's nice to read this. I appreciate it. It's been many years since I've tried using M&P and with all the advances it sounds like a lot of the bases have made, maybe I can start using it again? Maybe I'll pick some up and give it a whirl! Thank you again.
  19. Peaks Cinnamon & Balsam is my all-time favorite holiday scent. I have no idea how it compares to others, because this was the first one I tried. OOB it's not very impressive, but you get it in wax and man o man does it come alive with all the different "holiday" scents. (I say that about the OOB scent because when I first got it it took me about a year before I put it in wax because it just does nothing OOB, but I LOVE it once I put it in wax!)
  20. I've never heard of them, so obviously, I've never used them. Sorry!
  21. I ordered some samples from Online Labels to make sure the Kraft is the color of Kraft label I want/need since I know they can vary. Thanks for that tip JAJC.
  22. If you don't mind a blend, Peaks has a Cranberry Citrus that is awesome. It's very tart and comes alive in wax. (I use paraffin though so I don't know how it will do in soy)
  23. I have mine through the guild - the insurance, guild price has gone up twice since I've been a member, so I may not renew next year, but it's $400 a year (plus the cost of membership to bring the total to $520) When I first went to them it was a good deal because it was the only insurance I could find that I didn't have to have 2 separate policies - 1 for soap and 1 for candles. Before I started making soap, I had this same coverage for candles only for $800 a year through State Farm. Sometimes it pays to shop around. (Which I need to do again before I renew my policy/membership) This is the coverage - This is a Commercial General and Product Liability policy. The base limits are: $1,000,000 General Aggregate Limit$1,000,000 Products-Completed Operations Aggregate Limit$1,000,000 Personal and Advertising Injury Limit$1,000,000 Each Occurrence Limit$300,000 Damage to Rented Premises Limit$5,000 Medical Expense LimitBusiness Personal Property coverage includes "miscellaneous property of a floating nature". It basically covers "tangible property you own or is in your care, custody or control", like when you go to a show or have items on consignment in a store. The limits are: $1,000 Maximum payout per any one Item$5,000 Total$100 DeductibleIdentity Theft coverage limits are: $15,000 Aggregate Limit$250 Deductible
  24. IKR? I always think there's something wrong with me because people love it so much! But to me (and yes, I know I"m the odd ball out here) but to me it smells like a dirty old man's sweaty socks. LMAO Of course, I really don't like a lot of the "earthy" type scents - like the frankincense, myrrh, eucalyptus - you know things like that... They just have this 'pungent' scent to them IMO.
