  1. Their White Chestnut Spice is one of my favorite FO's thus far. Sigh. Guess I snoozed on that one.
  2. These are cute, but the reviews make me a little leary. This post reminded me of these little heart clamshells. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07JW7BVMD/ref=sspa_mw_detail_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  3. I have been looking at Sweet Grass by Cierra. A lot of places have hay and even horse fragrances, but I haven't tried any. There are some intriguing Lush dupes with wood notes. One you might like is Hellstone. It smells like Smokey, sweet woods to me. Nurture has a dupe called the Devil's Door. Others may have dupes of it too. One more that I tried is WSP's Cozy Flannel. It is kind of incense like and sweet, but I can't handle it personally, however, a lot of people like it. Same with Redwood and Saffron. Not my cup of tea but it may be yours. Other than Cedar EO, I really liked Save on Scents Cedar Chips. It is *strong* in Extreme concentration in my experience. I really liked it and thought it was a pretty accurate dried cedar smell without redwood or sandalwood sharp notes that give me trouble. I also like SOS's Copal, a lovely wood resin fragrance. I tried Fragrance Buddy's Woodland Forest... It was a pungent camphorous, maybe slightly phenolic pine. My SO liked it a lot. There are some great recommendations for different coniferous fragrances here if you search different terms.
  4. I thought their packaging and shipping was great. Fast too. I'm relatively close though. I haven't tried their FO's yet. These sales are killing me. 😅 Has anyone tried their champagne? If so can you smell the bubbles?
  5. I've been looking at Indigo's Lush dupes and others. They have so many I want to try. I've heard mixed reviews, but I'd like to personally see for myself.
  6. I wanted to try Freedom, because it is one part flame tree and another part ??? One of Lush's duo perfumes. But it got discontinued (for acceleration in CP I think). Looking at other options. I still like their selection, but having to switch wouldn't be fun. Did I mention I want to bathe in Coconut & Vetiver? Yum. Best coconut IMO. Yet to put it in anything. It would be great in soap and hair products.
  7. I've got to say, I still have a handful of other Nurture fragrances to try out, and they smell great OOB. I tried The Devil's Door in a blend in C6 and it was great.
  8. Yes, I did. I used my 20ml sample on a 16 oz candle, but blended with a bit of citrus and cinnamon FO ( I was afraid the high EO content might not stick). It immediately turned the wax a light yellow. It had a strong throw, hot and cold, However, I think the combination of the wood wick, and 444 I used made the burn/ROC slower, and that affected the melt pool and throw. It turned the melt pool brown. After 5 or so burns, it got a strong fuel/burnt smell, and I saved it (SO loves the fragrance) by tossing the melted wax that was affected by previous burns. I think it was the combination of wax, wick and oil that didn't work. It might be a usable fragrance in a different/better set up. It could make an excellent melt/tart or soap fragrance. It still smells great in the candle on my SO's desk, I can smell the CT when ever I sit there. It's just high maintenance to burn.😄 For now, I'm looking into another similar fragrance. Less expensive wouldn't hurt either.
  9. Goals: I'm a little behind on my supply list. This is what I need to do. I also need to get rid of few and use some favorites that aren't candle friendly. Thinking of projects..
  10. I tried Aztec's last year. I've never smelled the original, though. I would describe it as pure, bright, not too sour or too sweet, balanced citrus blend, I don't personally pick up on anything else. It was strong for me. I've seen several other places have it, and I'm curious about Cierra's off the top of my head, it sounds a bit more complex. Sorry I can't be of more help.
  11. Blending C 3 and coconut 1 or 2 are tempting. I do like the simplicity of having a ready to go wax, though. The less complicated the better.😌 I hope to report back after I get around to some more wick tests.
  12. I can try to post more results with c6, not that anyone else is using it. 😄 I like the throw, price, and I don't feel like trying a ton of other waxes.
  13. @TallTayl Did somebody say washi? ...ok. Then we'll do mine. Lol. It would be so much more fun with fellow FO HO's ... err crafters. Too bad I'm all the way over here in the PNW. At least there's virtual moral support. ... You can do it, believe in you! Maybe CS could have an organization challenge sometime. There's always spring...
  14. Hopefully next week. Fingers Crossed.
  15. 😄Pinterest inspired probably. I did this with all my craft items and containers years ago, but it's time for a redo.
  16. More ideas write the FO name on top of the bottle lid for easy access. Small round labels, for writing on black bottle tops Velcro dots to keep them upright and in place if you wanted to get super fancy. Washi on the outside to make lists instead of having to remove writing from plastic.
  17. Ditto on the shallow boxes, but then I keep them in another bin in addition. The visibility problem is made worse by the nature of FO bottles. They have to be upright, or they could leak, are tiny, etc. I could see a shallow shadow box type shelf or group of shelves working well, or an essential oil type display. Those would be open, so could pose problems. My best solution is taking a fine point dry erase, vis a vis, or even a sharpie, and writing a content list on the out side of tubs. (You can remove sharpie from plastic with aerosol sprays like Lysol, etc.) Keep a pen handy for writing new additions, erase used ones. You could even rig a Velcro attachment for the pen on side of the bin or near storage.
  18. SOS with title "scented" types.
  19. I recently ordered a little from them, and I really liked their White Chestnut Spice and Vanilla Bean Supreme OOB. The WCS is a hint spicy, earthy and sweet, actually the scent I'd been looking for from regular roasted chestnuts that were too mild or sweet to me. VBS is a Sweet Vanilla, A little deep, but also buttercreamy , to me. I like it for what I'm blending it with. Still looking for a deep true vanilla bean. I really want to try a few others. Heard great things about raisin bread.
  20. Is Bitter Creek having a sale?
  21. An example of melts in tins. I realize the molds would be fussy. That's why I'm thinking brittle, crumbles or scoopable too. https://happywax.com/collections/soy-wax-melts/products/bergamot-bay-wax-melts
  22. At a craft market or fair, I always think of little ones possibly getting a hold of things, So I would think a deli like set up would work better than an all accessible display for anything involving a lot of glass. I'm thinking more of indoors or cooler months only too. with that. Otherwise, pre packaged tins seem like a good option.
  23. Some ideas floating around in my head. When plastic is banned, it will level that part of the market, but until then... I've wondered the same. Plastic is still so routine with everything at the grocery store etc. I would think many people wouldn't mind in most retail settings. Thinking about the local markets around my town however, I would understand how a no plastic option would appeal. It's a very progressive, environmentally friendly arena. My first experience, even with a wax made to be hardy (Ecosoya PB) it was very hard to get my brittle in the PP cello bag without streaks. Part of me wonders if it would be good to offer alternatives at a market, or retail like a wax bar type thing, from glass apothecary or candy style jars. Of course glass comes with it's own hassles. You could offer little tins, or paper bags, like Lush offers, and users store as they please at home. I realize scoopable melts seem like a fad. I've been thinking about a least messy as possible option in glass, to avoid plastic though. A wax that you can kind of easily carve. Maybe even in a tin.
  24. Just Scent, Plum Crazy, strong in my experience. Reminiscent of cherry and cranberry as well as plum.
  25. Honestly, I'm right there with you @Quentin, I really like to have all the information I can get before I do and redo something. Especially considering the expense for each go. Not to mention I sincerely have a limited short term memory, so I might even search for or something or ask about it repeatedly. There's a polite way to decline a request. Anyway. Keep on swimming...
