  1. It’ll continue to harden more over time. I’d go w/ triple Eco 2’s, not placed too close together. I’ve heard new batches of 6006 may have changed. If you’ve got some of that, I don’t know how it will wick.
  2. How long are you curing before burning? It needs several days minimum. I would try 3 Eco 2’s.
  3. Unfortunately testing half filled will not yield 100% accurate results. A candle burns differently at the top than it does further down when more heat is held inside the vessel. You should always test the product exactly as you are going to sell it, and test the entire candle from top to bottom. Also fully test any time any single element is changed....FO, wick, dye, etc.
  4. Have you tested yourself to see if their assessment is true?
  5. I’ve noticed in a lot of the store bought candles I’ve used lately the wicks are not adhered and I have experienced some drift even in candles that were well wicked. Obviously more likely with a hotter wick, but I’d rather be safe than sorry...different burning conditions, user error, yadda yadda.
  6. I have found CS wick recommendations for 464 to be a tad too big. I generally need to wick down from their recommendation by one or two sizes. I prefer CD in 464, but Eco work reasonably well too. Additionally, some FOs just won’t throw in soy no matter what you do. Cure time is important too, so be sure not to ignore that. Good luck!
  7. You can also achieve a fairly similar look using glass etching cream and a vinyl stencil. It’s very easy to do.
  8. Just weighing in here re: Lake Adventure. I added this to my line right after it was introduced. It’s not super watery, but the water note is there. It has a lodge/flannel/cabin-y vibe to my nose, which works well for me because I sell in a mountainous area. It is quite different from a lot of the other water scents out there.
  9. Nothing unusual. Every fragrance can burn differently. That one may just need a smaller wick. Try the next size down to compare.
  10. I don’t use that wax but CD 12 seems a bit large for a container that size. Have you tried a smaller CD?
  11. It definitely needs to cure to get accurate wicking results.
  12. 6006 needs to cure at least 10 days or so. Wick tests are not at all accurate burning so soon after pouring.
  13. If you are going for a traditional wick, the Candle Science wick guide is pretty accurate for 6006. Be sure to cure before testing.
  14. It sucks that the Cranberry Marmalade didn’t work out. That was a good one. I bought a ton from CS when they discontinued it so I don’t need that one. I started with the Odor Eliminator dupe and it was a good one, then found a couple others, then just continued to branch out to different scents altogether. If I find a comparable Cranberry Marm I’ll let you know. 🙂
  15. I’m with you. It is frustrating. They are now at the very bottom of my supplier list. I am in NC and every other maker around uses CS so even their good scents are overdone here. I’m using AFI more and more now due to this very issue. Reducing my dependence on CS & other suppliers in general. I do use the CS wick guide and refer to some of their info from time to time, but my dollars are going elsewhere. Good luck to you!
  16. I’ve been testing that wax and you shouldn’t have any problem single wicking up to 3.5”, maybe even larger. I just haven’t tried anything larger than that yet. It’s actually been surprisingly easy to wick this wax, in my limited experience.
  17. I have seen a couple of people posting that (mis)info on FB, and it’s very misleading...in my opinion. What wax are you using? Some are trickier than others, because certain waxes (6006 is one) tend to pool downward without creating a wide melt pool, but single wicking up to 3.5” still isn’t that difficult.
  18. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I use 6% for everything, including soy. I may round up to the nearest tenth for easy math but that’s always my max. If an oil doesn’t throw to my satisfaction at that % I won’t use it.
  19. I’ve had pretty good luck with LX in 4630, and you are within the correct size range. Lower the FO load to 6% and be sure to allow the candle to cure at least a couple of days.
  20. For me it was always finicky about FO, in exactly the same way as soy. It either throws or it doesn’t, and it’s maddening. If there’s a secret, I must be out of the loop too.
  21. That’s unfortunate. I used them exclusively with CBL130. Nothing else even comes close to burning as well for me. They do have to be the correct size. Even one size off can be ugly. BUT since @ErronB so kindly warned of the current batch being unusable, I haven’t bought any more of that wax. They may not work at all if the wax has changed.
  22. I’ve used CS, Northstar, Flaming and they are all the same. The only ones I didn’t care for were from Bittercreek, and those burned fine but they were primed differently.
  23. Also, Gypsy Rose from FB. It’s fantastic.
  24. Mrs Claus Cookies from NG is similar to Vanilla Bean Noel. I don’t really get a cookie vibe from it. Just a nice sweet vanilla. Sea Witch from FB is just straight up salty sea air. I use both regularly.
