  1. IronR, I was living in Tn but now had to come to the deep south of Alabama ( at the Florida line) due to father passing aways and needing to take care of mom. Yeah I know what you mean about the heat, that's why I use the paraffin 4794. It holds up to the temps down here in the south !
  2. Ironrose, I'd like to "thank you" for supplying me with my heart attack for the day LOL ( look at that 16,000 is what did it LOL ) What soy are you wanting to use ? I know that Community Candle in Alabama sells GW 415 and 464 "soy blend container wax" ( I use 4794 and they don't carry that )
  3. OK in that case, I like De instead of Da LOL
  4. I wish I could help but I've never done an open house, with other vendors there . Have you asked what all the others are bringing? Glad you replaced Scentsy though !
  5. LOL @ Yumm I am totally on board with the De instead of the Da, but I was wondering if it was a take off of her name or something so I didn't mention it.
  6. WTH.........., .... Anyway , to Steve... yeah I heard about that.. and there was also some older man who'd been taking photos of the games for many years, and then selling the prints ( blowing them up ) and all of the sudden there was a big tado about it. When I made my bleeding tapers in the SEC colors, I had on the label " I Bleed Orange and Blue " or " I Bleed Crimson " etc . Sold a TON of those, and the wax dipped TPs at Tannehill and Sweet Potato Festival right out of Tuscaloosa. I did however figure out one thing by reading the licensing rules............ You can make something in their colors, and even put an A or AU or whatever on it....... as long as it is distinguishable from the A that the school uses. ( But at the time I was doing this, you couldn't BUY AU or UA cloth, make something, and sell it, without going through the big wigs. THAT ticked me off because I was wanting to make AU and UA car freshener ornies) I did call, verify and send pics of what I was doing to make sure.
  7. To my ears, I like the first suggestion , DaVine Scented Melts and More........... but for possible packaging problems ( like curved lettering, etc ) , DaVine Aroma ( then on second line ) Melts and More might work better from a packaging point of view... I like them both but DaVine Scented Melts and More just rolls off my tongue faster .... I sort of want to pause, when I say DaVine Aroma.......... melts and more. ( which could be a good thing... ) Either way works, but I was thinking if you used round labels for anything it could get interesting with placement... maybe I'm over thinking it.
  8. Don't let it get TOO hot nor "cook" it too long or you'll be burning out the FO in it you already have in it.
  9. HorsescentS, I really like that "DaVine Scented Melts and More " Good one !!!!!!!!
  10. I hand dipped for a long time, shew, hats off to you ! I think you did a great job and they look wonderful !
  11. Ok, it's 7:44am here.... Those look real I'm hungry When's breakfast?!? LOL Very nice job !!!!!!!!!!
  12. Sorry that the FBB is out at BCN , I've tried it before and I personally loved it, but I couldn't sell that stuff for nuffin Made me sad because I really wanted to a bakery that wasn't so gooey sweet. I hope you get some and it does well for you.
  13. OMH : Oatmeal Milk and Honey............. it's divine and if you can find a good one, it smells like that shampoo we had in the 70s.
  14. Well as corny as it sounds, I've found I can mix a good Mac Apple in most things and it comes out nice and not bakery. It tones down a really true herbal lavender ( I had 3 different ones that ranged from sugary lavender, to perfume-y to bite the back of your nose true ).. and it really rounded out the herbal lavender nicely. It goes well with just about any bakery scent ( I loved it with my cinnamon buns , pecan pie, birthday cake, blueberry cobbler , etc ) To me, it toned down the powdery note in Oak Moss without changing the main scent too much ) I added it to Cedar Wood to make "dried apples". Sorry can't think of more, all my notes are boxed up
  15. Ditto to everything Puma said. Keep you're head up, we're rooting for you !
  16. I love both of them ( bad huh? LOL ) Strawberry Shortcake performs well in my 4794.
  17. ((( Laurens, have you tried Red Velvet Cake from BCS ? It smells like Devil's Food cake to me... or as close as I've found) I have two other blends for bakery I love : Apples, honey, caramel, very vanilla and birthday cake Pumpkin Souffle , Pecan Pie, Caramel , and marshmallow
  18. Like Ksranch and Nursenancy said... I do both. I also use Square and print them a receipt right there.
  19. Ok Ok Okkkk yall ROFLMAO it was just an expression hehehehehe
  20. Can you tell us " what stuff I have on hand" ? Maybe we can figure out something you can replace or use in place of something else
  21. For me, there's always " staples " that sell year after year, and there are some fads that come and go year after year. What is your best seller for two years running, you might not can give away to the same people the next season. FO's are kinda like food to me , in the respect that it seems in different areas of the country, totally different things sell and don't. Here in the south, we love Grits......... but most Yanks go EWWWW , yet we wouldn't dream of eating Creme of Wheat !!! I can't sell bakery scents in Tn for some reason, but I can't sell anything BUT bakery scents down here it seems ( which upsets me because I am not a huge fan of them ) For a signature scent, like stated above, figure out what sells the most in your area, and then take that and either go with it as is, or mix it up a little with something else and see how that does. What YOU want as a signature scent, might not be what THEY want as one.... Ahhhh the joy of trying to please everyone !
  22. I have a Rainbow and yes you can use the FOs . Yes , Rainbow sells fragrances but they are very diluted as compared to what we have.
  23. It's truly amazing Isbennis. rct, you're welcome!
