  1. Aztec has Buttered Biscuits
  2. Yep you're right Noodle ! I was just meaning, IF she chose to have one, it's something that a lot of people might be interested in. I know there's a lot of times I wish I lived closer to other suppliers that would let you run through there sniffing away LOL.
  3. @ QuietGirl I've seen them for quite a few years now, here and there. The ones I've seen , are rolled up , dipped, then gathered into 3's and tied in the center with a homespun type ribbon or jute, to give that prim / rustic look. Here's the link to a site I found on Google by someone who makes them. It will give you an idea what I'm talking about : http://www.google.com/imgres?q=wax+dipped+washcloths&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1600&bih=767&tbm=isch&tbnid=XBjF_i4UavrcCM:&imgrefurl=http://scentfullycountrygalcreations.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html&docid=G4lk24ROjBh2BM&imgurl=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_rtsB_YI_5tc/TUWvmfY1gvI/AAAAAAAAAC4/Ua_CfqIxzno/s1600/grubby%252Bwashcloths.jpg&w=1600&h=1200&ei=B1KBUJWUGaLt0gHcooG4Dg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=1296&vpy=149&dur=3491&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=186&ty=103&sig=113634801081936429213&page=1&tbnh=134&tbnw=167&start=0&ndsp=34&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0,i:92
  4. A Northwoods Christmas ( BCN ) Pumpkin Souffle ( CS ) Very Vanilla ( CS ) or Vanilla Bean Supreme ( BCN ) Apple Jack and Peel ( BNL BCN ) or Macintosh Apple ( CS ) Year round, I found, for me, it's always a good idea to carry Peppermint and Eucalyptus from Candle Science. It is a great seller for people with allergies, adults or babies with head colds, stuffy noses, etc. Be warned, don't lean over the pot when you're mixing it LOL
  5. I guess I'm going to be the voice of doom here Sorry, but when I read your post, the first thing that came into my mind was : There sure seems to be a LOT of established companies in this industry, going OUT of business in the past two years... and honestly, IMO , I think it's a really huge risk to take right now. I think it's a WONDERFUL idea that you have, but honestly I don't know how feasible it is to accomplish right now. Everyone that has replied, had fantastic info and insight into it, but going off of what TallT was saying..... Are you in an area where there are a lot of candlers ? That might help you out also. If they can buy the same FOs they get from somewhere far off, from you, that will help you tremendously. Are you also willing to have a storefront set up ( even if it's in your home ) where people can come by and sniff the oils. I know I really enjoy that about going to Aztec, and used to be Alabaster ( Community Candle). While we all know that putting something in soap or wax will change the scent a lot of times, there's also a lot of times we wish we could sniff something before buying it. Also, offer 1 ozers. It might be a pain to bottle but I'm too leery to purchase a large amount of something I haven't tried. Will being a supplier be your main line, or side line? Will you give up ( and be ok with giving up ) making your crafts, if your supplier business takes off and you don't have the time to pour anymore? Do you have the space to be a supplier, even if you do already have the money to purchase in bulk? I know how much room having over 300 lb bottles takes up, I can't even imagine being a supplier ( and I had a LARGE work area ). I'm NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT trying to dissuade you at all !!!!!!!! Please know that ! But I just can't help but think about all the candlers AND suppliers that go out of business seemingly every day. I just know it's a huge risk............. but then again, anything worthwhile in life, is ! Good luck to you sweetie in whatever you decide to do.
  6. I'm sitting over here cracking up at all these replies ! LOL Ya'll aint right Hey Ivy! Welcome to the circus !! You're going to find yourself knee deep in info, laughs, tears , frustrations and triumphs ! If there's anything we can do to help, just ask and some of us will pop in with something LOL.
  7. Ok, I haven't checked lately , but has BCN started carrying Sissy's SC ? Because used to, ONLY BCS had it. Sorry if I hijacked, I just noticed the name of the thread was about BCN and thinking that only BCS has the SSC.
  8. It sounds divine to me !!! I'm like you, those smells remind me of home and I am going into DT's down here LOL
  9. A Northwoods Christmas is one of their best sellers year round and esp this time of year so I figure they ARE out of the "already filled ready to go 1 lb bottles" but I do believe as yall have stated, they should send 2 8oz bottles for the same price, and shipping, as 1 16oz. If not, have someone take the time to pour two of them into a one pounder.
  10. Yep,,, what ksranch said ! If you want a heavy coating of wax to completely encompass it, dip it cooler wax (but not TOO cool) If you want a thin coating that you can sort of see through, dip in hot wax, let it sit in there for a couple of seconds, pull it out and re-dip.

  12. I'm such a plain Jane I guess LOL While I think decorated melts are so cute, I can't help but think ... WHY ? I'm gonna melt it and it's not going to look like that after about 3 minutes. ( I'm also the same with dyeing them... depending on the warmer you use, you can't even tell what color it is or was ). To each his own I guess LOL
  13. ummmmmmmm I've never ever heard of this and I'm not knocking it if it works but....... Am I the only one that read the title to this thread and thought........ EWWWWW ... spoiled rancid milk smell ?
  14. Thanks for the heads up !!!!!!!!!! I hope you get it fixed soon.
  15. I can sort of relate but to be honest, it's not so much loyalty as it is not having the money lately to try something that might not work for me so I stick with the tried and true. When I have extra I can spend, I try to get a few from other places and test them ( 1oz ) and go from there. I am a true FO ho as they say. I was carrying full time, 150 different scents. I love shopping the classies and the sales that way I can try something out without getting stuck with something I don't want.
  16. Ya know, I love seeing posts like QT's. That first REAL tickled excitement that just oozes out of you and has you jumping around. You have a lot better time doing something, when you are excited about it and truly love it!
  17. OG, when I moved back down here, I wanted something to remind me of home, so I made up some Autumn Leaves with a hint of Campfire Smoke in it. (both from BCN ) To me, and my DS agrees, it smells like you've walked up into the Oliver's yard and then into the front room of the cabin, right at sunrise, when Lurany is cooking breakfast. It has that slightly damp, earthy, old and new leaves on the ground with that sweet and slightly acid smell, with the smoke smell that's permeated into the wood of the cabin. I've also thought about adding a little Bacon and possibly some Cedar Wood to it just to see what happens. (all of them came from BCN)
  18. QT, I am so happy for you. Welcome to the madness !!!! You're going to have a blast !
  19. She's right ! So much so , after reading this, I just went a started up the warmer and threw one ( melt ) in! My mom ( who's a baker from "way back" ) came out of her room within 10 minutes of it being lit, and asked when I started making a pie since she'd just been in the kitchen with me 30 minutes ago LOL
  20. Around a pound of wax, an ounce of scent ( your wax will determine the amount )
  21. Yeah, it being closed on Sunday's has caused me a few problems sometimes, but then again, I understand why they do it .
  22. I've done some "non scraggly " bears and didn't care for how they looked. But, that's just me. If you want to try it and see how you like it, go to the Dollar Tree or somewhere and get a really cheap bear that sort of looks like what you are wanting ( fur wise) and dip it and see it it acts and if you like it.
  23. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best LOL. All of your points are valid and either way it could work... or not LOL . But ME? I'd do it BEFORE Black Friday and take orders. Who knows, you might need to get more supplies and need to get things in, made, and cured. The longer you have to do that, the better. Make sure you have a good many lists with products you carry, sizes, what scents are in each, yadda yadda, and that way the "lookers" can take something with them to order from IF they do choose to wait til after BF.
