  1. hello candlers, I'm new to this hobby. I have only used coconut wax. I've been ready on this this forum and now i'm a little concerned.lol should I blend it with something else? could someone share a the best blend they came up with. what is the best wick with that blend my vessel isTop Diameter: 2 7/8" Bottom Diameter: 3 1/4"Height: 4 1/8"Capacity: 12 oz. (measurements from website) use eco wicks. Is that the best wick with my coconut83 wax?
  2. Hi I'm new here and I have a million questions but I will start with one lol ~ my question is if I'm blending 2 waxes with 2 different pour temps what temp should I choose to pour at? Any advise will be truly appreciated ~ Thanks
  3. I did a board search for "best coffee" and there were a couple of mentions of CS Fresh Coffee (but description says it has a touch of chocolate), ICS coffee blends are well liked but I didn't find anything specific on their Coffee Bean fo, the overwhelming past favorite was Bert's! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  4. I'm curious about how to blend FO's to create my own fragrances (for bath and body products), but I have several questions that don't seem to be answered on the web. Most articles online are dedicated to EO's, making this even more of a head scratcher. Blending seems pretty intimidating to me , making it hard to know where to start. When you are creating your own scent, do you use FO's that are strictly one scent (ie: just strawberry) or do/can you use a blend (ie: strawberry cheesecake)? Will using a blend mess something up since your arent controlling the notes? Is there some kinda ratio, percentage, or formula that you would recommend? I read on an online article that you're supposed to use a formula of Base: 20% Middle: 50% Top: 30% or even a 50/50 blend. I've marvelled at some of the blends that people have supposedly created on their own, but the descriptions of their scents contain like 6 scents and I'm thinking "How the heck do they do this?". Are they blending blends with other blends? My head is spinning with the several hours of research and not getting anywhere. Any advice is much appreciated and thank you for letting me pick your brain!
  5. If you could blend any FO together to create an Ultimate Bakery FO what do you think it would smell like? I just got curious as to what folks would think of. I'm sure it would have apples, spice, crust, some creme brûlée maybe, buttercream, cake, pears, I'm just thinking off the top of my head.
  6. I was thinking of a candle maker up in Missouri that I used to go to when I lived in the area (oh years and years ago). She had a brilliant setup and I don't think I disliked any blends she ever had. One thing though that she did was on my mind because I'm not sure how she did it. She had a policy that if you wanted a specific blend, including a perfume or obscure type scent, she would blend it. Usually would get it done within a couple days too (so much less likely that she ordered it). So I'm curious if anyone knows how she pulled it off. Especially with some of the perfume scents. They were accurate. Some of the perfumes I recall she worked with, I just can't find a supplier, so wondering if she somehow blended them herself from bases and if anyone would have an idea of how to start working with that. I blend other things for their combinations, but nothing like that...
