  1. That's incredible...beautiful!
  2. I agree with Justjasen, the name doesn't make me think of candles but as an accessory for candles...hth.
  3. OOPS...with 3022, I pour right after stirring fo in (180*)...no problems. It's C3 that I pour around 118*. Sorry for the mix up!
  4. Very nice! For a 1st candle, hers turned out really well...she should be proud
  5. I pour 3022 around 118*...smooth tops, no air pockets.
  6. Yes, it's SLS/SLES free and contains no glycol. I decided to stay with SFIC 's GM base...found a recipe (thanks Candybee!) that works great with it. I'll try it in the near future though and see what the differences are.
  7. LOVE Pear and Vanilla Bean although imo, it has light to medium throw...but it smells really nice.
  8. Just because a wax gives a max % load doesn't necessarily mean you'll need to use that amount. That's where testing comes into play, to find what works for you.
  9. I haven't bought a case of wax from Peak, but 10lb slabs come tightly wrapped and labeled. I know LS gives type and lot info on the cases so maybe call and ask them...they have excellent customer service.
  10. Your pillar is stunning Saw the 'new' camo candle and it looks great.
  11. 4625 is a very hard wax but to make a good melt, grubby, clamshell etc, you're going to need a pillar wax to blend with either the 464 or 4627. As I mentioned before, if you need it to be softer lower the percentage of the pillar wax and when you need it for tarts up the percentage. There are hundreds of posts on melt blends, waxes, and such in the wickless section. Alot of testing is needed and what works for one does not mean it will work for another...thats why we test. Peak offers 2lb samples on all their waxes and is a great, affordable way to test to see what waxes you prefer.
  12. Imo, if you dont use some kind of pillar wax, the melts will not come cleanly out of the portion cups, clamshells etc. If you want it to be softer try a 70/30 blend with 4627 OR 4630 and 4625 (pillar)...for a parasoy melt, try 70/30 464 and 4625. Many here use a 50/50 blend with the wax they prefer and 4625 or other pillar wax and have awesome results...hth.
  13. I have not used that wax but with C3 (soy) my favorite wicks to use are CDNs, CDs, and Premiers. You could start off trying a CD8, CDN10, Pre 765. The burn seems ok... I know especially with soy, that it may take until the 3rd burn to attain fmp. I personally like to reach fmp by 2nd burn...but as you've noted, you need to be careful that the jar doesn't get to hot. Try a few sampler packs to see how the different wicks burn and what works best for your wax. I believe you can contact WICKIT and they send out a large assortment of the Premier wicks for shipping cost only (around $5). HTH
  14. Greenleafs 70/30 soypara is Clarus 3022....you can buy directly from Clarus Wax or from conniescandles.com...hth
  15. Suzy, your hard work and the love you have for it shows...everything looks great!!
  16. They look great...love that scent!
  17. Aroma Haven/Rustic Essentials...I haven't soaped it so I don't know if it turns brown.
  18. I do a 50/50 blend of Peak's Ocean and TCS Carribean Coconut, LOVE it.
  19. I've been using SFIC GM base for a year now and love it but Im curious as how it compares to Stephensons Natural Shea butter base as far as lather, moisturizing, and hardness goes.TIA
  20. LOVE his Pink Sugar (actually prefer it over ICS), Grammy's Zucchini Bread, DKNY Be Delicious dupe (dead on), Cinnamon Sandlewood, Grapefruit (strong thrower and great mixer), and J&J Bedtime Bath...hth
  21. Welcome! They do look great...smooth tops, centered wicks, bright colors, love the tins...agree with above posters that a bit more wax will complete the look
