  1. Thanks, but I'm pretty sure the one I was using was the other way round. 70% soy 30% paraffin.
  2. Greetings, I used to use green leaf candle supply for their 70/30 soy blend wax, but it looks like they have gone out of business. Can anybody recommend a good comparable wax. I want to minimize the instances of frosting and I found the blend to preform well. I am in So Cal, the closer the better. Thanks! Justin
  3. After letting them cure for a few days, me sweet pea candles smell great cold and I just started burning one and instantly the room was filled with a lovely sweet floral. Happy . . .
  4. I have been experimenting with EOs too. One thing I have noticed is the EOs I have tried from Wellington (Bergamot, Pink Grapefruit, Lime, and, Spearamint) all have an underlying smell that you don't find in FOs. It's hard to describe the scent, it's like a musky oily plant matter scent and it's not very fresh; I don't really like it. I suspect that is just the nature of EOs in soy.
  5. I would love to hear what people think of this wax. Thanks, Gerbo
  6. Love this Sweet Pea, it smells great and is strong OOB. However, I just poured a couple 8oz tumblers using 1oz FO per pound of Well-Flake (Wellington) Soy w/2% Beezwax and the cold throw is very faint. Has anybody else had good results with the cold throw of this FO or is it just the nature of this FO to be faint? Does curing ever increase cold throw, or is that done for hot throw? Please share your experiences with this one. Thanks! Gerbo
  7. Thanks guys. I will call up NG and see what they say about it.
  8. I recently got samples of all the Kama Sutra FOs from Nature's Garden. I was wondering if I can use the brand name "Kama Sutra" on my packaging, or do I need to rename them? Also, has anybody else tried these FOs? What did you think?
  9. Topofmurray hill, I hear ya. Good bud is such a nice fragrance. I've been on the hunt for a FO myself. I was even considering mixing genuine skunk oil with Peak's Mary Jane . . . that is until I found out Skunk oil is the rendered oil from the fat from the skunk. There must be a synthetic skunk oil somewhere. I remember back when scratch and sniff stickers were popular, all the other kids used to think the skunk sticker was gross, but I quite liked it. Same as when driving thru the country and catching a mild skunk scent.
  10. I got Peak's Mary Jane and I wasn't impressed. It had a gasoline smell to it and hardly smelled like Marijuana. I can smell a little bit of a weed smell, but mostly gas. And there was NO skunk smell to it. Good pot should smell like skunk. They call it skunk bud for a reason. So listen up peaks, add some skunk to your Mary Jane.
  11. It's a very sexy fragrance. Musky and floral. I've read it has a similar smell to Water Lilly but I've never smelled water Lilly, so I wouldn't know. I have some of the essential oil on the way. It is one of the SUPER expensive EOs along the lines of Vanilla. So I had to get the diluted kind.
  12. Wonderful Robin, thank you for sharing the knowledge. I am interested in reading up on these processes as well. I will search on my own, but off-hand; do any of the manufacturers have websites that you know of?
  13. I was wondering if anybody has any insight into where the high-end candle brands (Voluspa, Trapp, Seda France, etc.) get their lovely scents. I've been sampling many oils and I'm not finding the fragrances as clean smelling or strong as the luxury brands. Do the high-end guys make their own FOs perhaps? Any suggestions for a supplier for luxury or higher concentrated FOs? Thanks, Gerbo
  14. Greetings, I have purchased Lotus candles from some of the high-end candle companies (Geodesis, Seda France, etc.) and was very impressed with the scents and throws: A slightly musky, but sweet; almost rose like scent. I have tried the following FOs without much luck. All three smell completely different and none even close to as nice as the designer candles or room sprays. SaveOnScents - Water Lotus SaveOnScents - Lotus Flower BitterCreek - Lotus Blossom Special Dose anybody have any suggestions how I might get a nice Lotus scent? Thank you very much. Gerbo
