  1. Anyone have a great cupcake fo to recommend? I only make candles, use an 80/20% mix of 464/6006 wax. Just plain ole' cupcake, no other notes, no plastic smelling scents need apply! Tia!
  2. Oh duh! It's Miami Erie. I ended up going back through my email and reading recent newsletters from various companies. Now, has anyone tried the Funnel Cake from ME? Tia! [Edited to add] When they first opened didn't they have a board where reviews of their fo's could be posted? Apparently I didn't favorite the site and I can't find a link for it on the ME website. Does anyone else remember this?
  3. I have samples of this but haven't used it in a product yet. Unfortunately oob it didn't impress me, we'll see!
  4. Alas, I loved Bert's and I only have 4 oz left so I'll be following the answers here closely!
  5. It seems like one of the good FO companies added a Funnel Cake fo to their line just recently but I can't find it or remember who it was!! Does anyone recall? It's not ICS, I've already tried their Funnel Cake and was wanting to try another one. Any help would be appreciated! Tia!
  6. lol! I had that commercial jingle running through my brain too! The Fresh Balsam smells just like real balsam, in the Northeast they take the needles from balsam branches and make scented sachets out of them. My in-laws live in Maine and send us a Balsam wreath every year for Christmas, I love having it in my house. And for a change, the BBW Fresh Balsam is a really strong thrower in candles!
  7. I only discovered this fragrance last year and I love it too! It really does smell like true balsam, doesn't it? So I've been searching for a year and had previously posted this same question. Still no idea where to find a dupe, but I'm still trying! I was pouring ICS Sugared Spruce recently though and thought that maybe mixing it with a Christmas tree fo might closely approximate the BBW Balsam, will just have to keep trying! Good luck with your search! [Edited to add:] A search of the Fragrance Oil Finder turned up a fo called Windsong Balsam Pine. It's carried by WSP, Lebermuth and Sweet Cakes. I have no idea who it's original to or what the Windsong part means, didn't there used to be a Windsong perfume? Anyway it sounds like it would be worth a try. I hths!
  8. Interestingly enough, got an email from Candle Science today about two new scents, one is Pine Cones and here is the descriiption: Our Pine Cones fragrance oil captures the unmistakable scent of a fresh cut pine bough and pine cone wreath. Notes of balsam and patchouli combine with natural spruce and cedar oils to instantly put you in a holiday frame of mind. This fragrance oil is infused with natural cedar wood, and spruce essential oils.
  9. I'm still searching too (to replace Bert's), but I had bookmarked this fairly recent thread with the intention of trying out some of the recommendations eventually! http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?100962-Favorite-true-Christmas-Tree-scent
  10. There are no reviews under the FO on the Peak website so I guess this is relatively new? Has anyone tried it yet, and if so, how is it? Does it smell similar to anything else or is it a must have? Would love to hear even an oob review, thanks in advance!
  11. Wow. Other than them not having Spicy Apples & Peaches in stock forever I've never had anything but great service from them.
  12. I ordered some to see what all the raves were about but I have never tried it before, it seems like it's been oos since I started making candles and that was two years ago! *faint*
  13. Did anyone else notice that Spicy Apples & Peaches is back in stock at TN?
  14. I don't have contact information about the company, but I do know a potential way for you to visit their old website to read the description. It's called the Wayback Machine, google it and you'll find a website that has taken random "snapshots" over time of various websites, you type in the url of the company and then you can pick a date from a calendar that the Wayback Machine has archived. I hths!
  15. Thanks R! I haven't tried any Southern Scentsations oils yet but they're on my list of suppliers to check out. And that's such a bummer about the supplier. I don't know about anyone else but for me the lower prices on her oils was sort of a bonus, secondary to how her oils smelled and performed.
  16. One of the first fo's I looked for when I first started candle making two years ago was an Apple Cinnamon (Cider). I have many samples that I've never poured b/c once I tried Bert's that was it!! OOB the others couldn't even hold a candle (pun intended ) to hers. I have a bit to last me for a while, but eventually I'm going to need to find a dupe. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've bought (but haven't tried) NG's, JS, ICS, AH/RE, Steve's, Lonestar's & Candlewic for starters, probably forgetting a couple more. I use an 80/20% 464/6006 blend and at 8% a candle made with Bert's had a kick butt throw for me. Oh why oh why didn't she just sell her company like KY did? Looking forward to seeing your recommendations! Tia!
  17. Daystar has a Kai dupe. It's pricier but her high end perfume dupes are usually dead ringers for the real thing!
  18. I heartily second the Sugared Spruce! I also like their Pumpkin Pie Filling, smells just like a can of Libbey pumpkin and makes a great mixer!
  19. lmao!! Not that time! :lipsrseal For some reason I think it was Chuck in AL.
  20. oooooooohhh! Who makes an Angel Amaretto?? Sounds like something I'd want to drink!
  21. How about mixing it with a creme brulee? I don't remember who posted it but someone here once said they could sell anything mixed with creme brulee!
  22. So far (since Bert's is no more) my favorite is Peak's Mountain Pine. Very real, not pine cleaner scented.
  23. My favorite is Starrville's Creme Brulee. http://www.tylerstarrville.com/
  24. This is from another thread: Re: Filmore Reviews I hths!
  25. :bump: Bumping this thread because of Steve's mixing comment. I've been looking for a Ginger Pumpkin (or Pumpkin Ginger) for a while but the new JBN seems to have dropped it from their line and the only other place that seems to have had it was Just Scent, also discontinued. So I wanted to pose a question to the board's FO mixologists, if I decided to mix my own, say starting with a simple fresh ginger fo, would you suggest adding a simple pumpkin (like ICS's Pumpkin Pie Filling) or a spiced pumpkin fo (of which there are many more choices)? Or does anyone know of a Pumpkin Ginger fo (nothing showed up in FOF or in Google)? Any suggestions? Tia!!
