  1. There's one on Craigslist too, but it's up in Frisco and it comes with 2 gallons of peanut oil. It's green! lol!
  2. Amanda, have you tried the q-tip test on your proposed blend? Dip a q-tip in each of your fragrance oils and put them in a jar together, seal it and let it sit a while for the scents to blend. Then take a sniff, you'll be able to tell if one scent predominates or not, if you want to smell more of the pumpkin, add another q-tip of pumpkin fo and let it sit again. Keep doing this until you get the proportions that your nose tells you is right. For example, you start out with 1 pumpkin, one coffee and one vanilla. You add one pumpkin later so then your mix is two parts pumpkin, 1 part coffee and 1 part vanilla. Voila!
  3. Yes, I wonder exactly what is happening with SW? Closed for a month, emails bounce, phone disconnected, wth? I didn't use that many scents from them, but the couple I did use I loved!
  4. Yay! So your order finally got delivered! Mine too!
  5. Well, my first order was for the Christmas tree, some lids and a few samples, Creamy Chai Latte being one of them. The Christmas Tree is a total winner, I poured a candle with the CCL last weekend and I do like it alot, but my ideal for a chai scent is that it be a tad more spicy than this one, the hot and cold throw is awesome though, I just wish that Cajun still had this fo available. My second order was for Boston Rounds, the Creamy Chai Latte (larger amt) and samples of Nutmeg Ginger, Cedar Garland, Pumpkin Spice Chutney (this is all your fault Candybee! lol!) and Orange Pekoe Tea. Oob I ADORE the Pumpkiin Chutney, this is a truely unique pumpkin scent and I think I'll order more of it. I have not been able to give away anything pumpkin related to date (although it's one of my favorite scent families) so I'll see if the PSC tempts anyone. Thanks Candybee!
  6. Like in the picture above (if I did it right!). But these have a black exterior, not stainless like yours.
  7. I'm going through sort of the same thing right now with FedEx. Package got to a local FedEx facility on Saturday, since then the only update today shows it's been transferred to ANOTHER FedEx hub 20 miles away from the first (and definitely not 20 miles closer to me)! Not sure what's going on with these companies.
  8. JAJC, Does the wax touch the heating elements in the Masterbuilt fryer? All I can see in other pictures is an element in the bottom and the perforated frying basket, is there some sort of liner that isn't showing up? TIA!!
  9. That's the problem, their website is down, you have to call them. Sorry!
  10. Hmm, did you get a UPS shipping notice yet? I've placed two orders with them in August, each time I got a shipping notice the next day. The first shipment took 7 days (5 working days) to be delivered, the second one took 5 days (3 working days) to be delivered. I hths!
  11. lol! I've only ever had 1 oz of that in hand, it was always oos! Believe me when I tell you I kept that one container candle all to myself! I'm glad they're still selling, I'd thought of trying their phone number but still have enough of their oils in stock that it wasn't critical yet. They were my go-to supplier after Bert's went oob so I'm super happy they'll be available at least for a while!
  12. Hmm, imho pumpkin fragrances are difficult to find just the right one. You should jump over to the Fragrance board and do a search for "pumpkin" to see all of the threads about pumpkin fo's. I use several BCN fo's so I jumped over to the site to read the description of Pumpkin Spice. I guessed it would be heavy on the spice and that's how the description read. To my nose a lot of the cooked pumpkin scents (pumpkin souffle for example) have a burnt smell to them. I've had better luck with pumpkin blends like pumpkin creme brule, etc. I'm currently testing the BCN WYW Perfect Pumpkin to see how that does. A lot of the FoHo's blend their own pumpkin fragrances. The other posters who suggested getting sample packs are spot on, some vendors (like the Candle Maker's Store) have specifically packaged sample packages, like a pumpkin or fall or holiday sample pack. I don't know how much of the Pumpkin Spice you have, but if you have some left you could try blending it yourself with a vanilla or a pie crust or something to cut the spice, then maybe the pumpkin flavor will come out more! I hths! [ETA] I forgot to mention that I use a 464 soy & 6006 parasoy blend and use CD wicks. Love the CD wicks!
  13. That is so bizarre. Hasn't it been down for months? At least most of the summer, which is when I got interested in pouring candles again and started looking to see if they were still around ....
  14. Are you the same person as the original poster, Missy40? I have 2 oz of LBD from AH/RE that I can let go, pm me.
  15. FYI, CS Twigs & Berries = JS Twigs & Berries = NG Twigs & Berries. So much so that I combined what I had of each scent.
  16. Ok, back when this thread was first posted I quick like a bunny ordered some samples, the first one I received was the Fillmore fo, I knew it was the best immediately. Now the other orders have been trickling in, the second order was from the Candle Source, I got a sample of the Oregon Pine Needle and decided to try some of the Sugared Spruce. Now the Sugared Spruce didn't even compare to ICS's (my favorite by far!) and I wasn't too impressed with the Oregon Pine Needle. So I mixed the two together and I was totally surprised that I like it! Not as much as Fillmore's though, but it's nice. Just an fyi for the other mad scientist mixers out there!
  17. Check out Brambleberry's Lavendar, the one for use in wax smells exactly like the huge mound of lavendar growing in my flower garden!
  18. I don't have a comparison, but of the 3 I've tried I think the most realistic is the one at Millcreek. I think the other two have been d/c'd.
  19. I have a sample of it that I'm going to be pouring this weekend. Oob it is very creamy & spicy, a good balance. My favorite used to be from Cajuns, but it looks like it's been discontinued, I also have samples from Candle Soylutions, JS, Millcreek & SGS (I forget their new name) queued up to pour and compare. Of those my favorite oob is the Candle Soylutions followed by the SGS. Do you want me to let you know how the Fillmore's Chai turns out? JLMK!
  20. The BBW Fresh Balsam mentions notes of eucalyptus also, but I don't detect any. The thing I do notice is a sweet, faint muskiness that I love!
  21. Thank you so much Candybee! I've been planning a sample purchase for a lot of those scents. When I got the Christmas Tree I also got a sample of the Creamy Chai Latte, if it smells as good in wax as it does in the bottle then my search for a chai scent is done. Has anyone tried the Orange Pekoe Tea?
  22. YES, YES, YES!!! That is it! I have little balsam fir sachets from a trip to the Adirondacks 30 years ago, and my in-laws live in Maine now so they send us a fresh balsam wreath every year for Christmas, some years I strip the dried needles and save them for a while. That is exactly what the BBW Slatkin Fresh Balsam smells like! I am beyond happy that the Fillmore fragrance smells just like that! This has made my year!!!!
