  1. Yes to all of the above! And in another fragrance thread someone said she'd ordered a FO just b/c she liked the picture! lol! I do that too!
  2. I can't answer the op's question but I can tell you that Elf Sweat smells mostly like 7-up.
  3. I did see that Linda, thanks. But I don't want anyone to go to the trouble just so I can test a new wick. I'm pretty happy with the ECO wicks I'm using now, I'm testing the cotton wicks from Peak but all of the raves here for the CD/CDNs has made me curious!
  4. Are you just wanting to use up excess vanillas? It seems like I've seen a Patchouli/Vanilla combo somewhere, but I've been looking at so many websites the last few days I couldn't tell you which one, sorry!
  5. And I think I may be turning into one!
  6. Everything on their website is out of stock. I was looking for CDN wicks and a google search turned up their site, but wth?
  7. Thanks Candybee [Edit] & Isbennis! I do this for myself & family, no selling (yet!) so at this point I'm good (if I give a candle away I make sure it's a new container!). If I ever do sell I'll remember your advice.
  8. Thanks! I was sort of wondering what to do about that! My earliest candles I used the stickums and those have been easy to deal with, the later ones I used hot glue and I was afraid those weren't going to budge!
  9. FYI, I've been using chop sticks, unused extras tend to accumulate in my house! They have the advantage of being free!
  10. Linda maybe it's because I'm new? I don't think I'm allowed to pm either! I know Berthoud, I used to live in Ft. Collins b4 I moved to the Denver area. [Edited to add] I went to my profile and checked to receive messages from other members, so maybe it'll work now. I know I can't pm until met certain criteria, so I'm not sure I will be able to respond!
  11. Hi all, I am sooo happy to have found this forum! I just started making candles in November (ostensibly for Christmas gifts) but the whole thing has snowballed on me! My question is this, I made a lot of mistakes at the beginning, mostly under wicking containers, and now I have a bunch of apothecary & mason jars with lots of wax left in them but no wick left (major tunneling!). If I use a double boiler to melt the wax out can I reuse these containers? I'm thinking a concern about reusing containers would be that heating the glass while the candle burns (with a full melt pool) might compromise the integrity of the container if there are any weak spots in the material, but since these have a wall of wax next to the glass maybe it's ok? Your expert opinions would be greatly appreciated!
  12. I've been having the same problem for the last 2-3 weeks. I'm doing everything the same as I've done successfully since taking up candle making in November, the only thing different I guess is a new batch of wax. As far as cooling too slow, I've poured in colder temps (in CO) and the only effect I saw from that was the wax cracked. A lot easier to fix than these cave-ins around the wick that keep reappearing. Your hole is tiny compared to the craters I've been getting!
  13. I'm also curious about this one, any body know what happened to it?
  14. Pun intended? I used Nature's Garden White Tea mixed with their Gingered Bergamot in 464 and it was awesome & strong!
  15. Well, I started making my own candles back before Thanksgiving and compared to the OP I'm all over the place! I just wanted to say one thing to her though, the Fig Tree from CS is incredible. If you like fragrances like L’Artisan Premier Figuier or Diptyque Philosykos then you'll love this FO!
