  1. Polypro bags shouldn't be the culprit. Honestly, the problem might just be that the FOs aren't strong enough. I use BCN FOs mostly. Spiced Cranberry, Vanilla Grapefruit and a couple others. Love Spell from CS works good and Peak (Keystone) Midsummer Night is a good one too. You just have to keep testing until you find something. Like I said before the stronger ones in other applications might be your best bet.
  2. Are you using polypropylene or polyethylene bags? Polypro is the best to use. It might say on the box if you don't know for sure. Are the FOs your using strong in other applications? If not then they might not be the best for aroma beads.
  3. I don't know about the beads from aromabeadsonline.com. I use the ones from BCN. It could be the bead quality or maybe it is just the FOs you are using are stinkers. I know not all FOs work the best in the beads. Some throw and last forever and some don't.
  4. Welcome back Flicker! I was wondering if you would be able to stay away forever!
  5. Last Saturday I placed an order with Candlescience and I received an email on Sunday that it was shipped! What?!? That never happens. I understand it did not really get in transit until Monday but I thought that was pretty awesome for them to be working on a Sunday to get orders out.
  6. I keep my pour pots warm in a countertop oven while I am making candles.
  7. I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago. Weird.
  8. Keystone in Pennsylvania bought Peak's codes and you can get those fragrances there. https://keystonecandlesupplies.com/products/amish-harvest-peak-1
  9. To me Amish Harvest smells like fruits and spices. But don't ask me what fruit and spices!
  10. I have tried a couple of the FOs from recommendations off this board. Pumpkin Hollow is pretty good. I use Bahama Breeze that is supposed to be a dupe of the Yankee version but it seems just a little bit off to me but it is close enough. I named it something else anyway. I use it for air fresheners. I am sure you will get other comments to help you out.
  11. I have no explanation for that! For once I am speechless! I used to use the RRDs but I sometimes would get big balls of carbon on the wicks. So much so that they would go out. I never have that problem with the Premiers and I never saw discoloration to that extent. There possibly might have been a little at times but it was never enough to get my attention like that candle would. So weird!
  12. Wow! I don't think I ever noticed any discoloration like in your pictures. Are those all the same fragrance? Candybee, I get my wicks from Fillmore.
  13. I only had a few of Peak oils that I had to have. I did a pre-order with Keystone and I will continue to buy from there. Unless something happens to change my mind. But I am not expecting anything like that to happen.
  14. Trappeur, the link is in the first post in this thread.
  15. I placed a pre-order last week and the owner called me yesterday to get my payment information. Right now, I will just stick with Keystone. As mentioned above they have been working their butts off trying to get everything straightened out and then this?!! Wow! It probably isn't any of my or our business but I sure would like to know what the owner of Keystone thinks about this!
  16. For my pint canning jars I start out with the 770s and go up and down from there. But the salsa jars are straight sided if I remember right. I guess I would start with a little bigger one like a 775 or 780 just to see what happens. HTH
  17. I have been using the premiers in palm wax for a couple years. That wick works great for me.
  18. For me, Lonestar's FOs are generally good. I have had a few though that did not throw too good in my wax but you find that everywhere. I had to place an order yesterday so I added the Drunkin' Punkin, Midnight Moon and Honey Lavender Gelato.
  19. I really like the Rustic Lodge. Has a good throw in palm wax.
  20. Thank you Kerven! I ordered a few pounds from Northwood just to play with it but I only have liquid dyes. I was hoping I could use the liquid dyes. But then again maybe no dye would be better. We will see how it goes. Thanks again!
  21. I don't make candles with it but I make Dragon's Blood incense and that FO makes me gag! Ugh! And I sell A LOT of it. I must be the only oddball in the crowd.
  22. There were so many times I wanted to start testing with those jars but then I would see the price of the lids and backed out. If I was a mega producer and could afford a pallet then I might be able to get them for much cheaper. But I think they would make great candles.
  23. Have you been dying your coconut candles? If so, what kind of dye do you use?
  24. They didn't work too bad in my palm wax. They might even be better in other wax, like soy or a paraffin blend. I ordered more wicks but haven't had the time to do more testing with them. Maybe this winter when things quiet down again.
