  1. Well crap...lol...I'll check out CC. Thank you!!
  2. I'm looking at trying the wood wicks from the candle makers store...has anyone tried them? Any good? I read so much about crappy wood wicks
  3. I just read a post where a girl selling candles had a customer complain that the wick keeps falling over. I didn't even bother. Obviously she has not tested all scenarios. Like a power burn. Because we know some people DO NOT trim wicks. I honestly don't mind helping those who are serious about this craft. If the passion isn't there, there's no sense in trying to educate. Hell, I still need help sometimes. The learning never stops and one has to be willing to learn.
  4. It's getting bad. Even the simplest jars are hard to find now. My bestsellers are plain ole Jelly Jars and I'm having a hard time finding them locally.
  5. LOLOL...I can emphasize. I constantly see people posting about making their first candle and then a month later they have a fully stocked website offering 30+ scents in various sized jars. Then they will post about complaints from customers and ask about insurance. I think a lot of people think candlemaking is a quick moneymaker. And I think we all know that it's not. Then you have those YouTubers. Not even gonna get into that. LOL
  6. Yeah it may be Citrus Spruce https://www.fillmorecontainer.com/citrus-spruce-fragrance-oil-25.html https://keystonecandlesupplies.com/products/citrus-spruce
  7. CS has a new Soy Pillar/Votive wax out that can also be used for tarts/melts...and I'm excited to try it. I just got my sample bag yesterday and getting ready to pour some testers. Has anyone else ordered this? https://www.candlescience.com/wax/blended-waxes-pillar-soy-wax-bw-921
  8. WSP, Brambleberry, Elements, The Candlemakers Stores all carry it from what I can see on Google. HTH

    Rancid/Bad Wax?

UGH. Does the smell disappear when you add fragrance? This stuff here really smells bad. Like rancid oil. And fragrance oil doesn't help. Makes it smell like even worse. BLEGH. It's getting tossed today. Used it for 3 years and never had this happen. Good thing I started switching to another wax 3 months ago.

    Rancid/Bad Wax?

I never had this happen...even with Soy that sat for 5 years. LOL Just gonna toss it. UGH Beware of TCS's Tart Blend

    Rancid/Bad Wax?

Right? It's disgusting! According to the supplier it's a paraffin blend with coconut oil.

    Rancid/Bad Wax?

Ok here is a first for me. I'm a almost 17 year candlemaking veteran and have NEVER had this happen. I purchased some wax a month ago (July 21st) and on Saturday (August 22nd) I finally got around to opening the boxes. Immediately I was greeted by a nasty "old cooking oil" stench! I mean it was NASTY. Like Vegetable Oil that sat in a cupboard for a few years! So, after the first OMG what now reaction and several attempts to not gag...I scooped out a few ounces and melted them in one of my presto post, hoping the stench would fade...BUT....it made it worse and my whole house stunk! Laaaawd have mercy! I then proceeded to mix some FO in, again hoping it would help but it didn't. I poured some tarts and melted them the next day....and while the rancidness was diminished, I could still smell it. Contacted the supplier and haven't heard back at all...which is unusual as he always gets back to me within a few hours. I don't know what to make of this. Has anyone ever had this happen...and if so...is there a way to somehow save this wax?
  13. Toasted Pumpkin Spice - CS Pumpkin Souffle - CS Pumpkin Caramel Crunch - TCS Pumpkin Spice Latte - TFC Pumpkin Cupcake - FB Pumpkin Pecan Waffles - TCS or ICS Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow - FB Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream - ICS Pumpkin Sugared Donuts - FB
  14. It sure makes an amazing sugar scrub! In candles and melts it's super yummy too. It's one of those all around scents for me.
  15. Huckleberry Harvest and Pearamel from NG are both super yummy and scream Fall to me
  16. This is exactly why I closed my Etsy shop when they implemented the Etsy payments!! PayPal has my bank info already.
  17. I use 8% and get decent throw in both candles and melts. I use a paraffin blend for both. It's not one of the strongest but the throw is there.
  18. Thanks much I will be trying this too. I have had good luck with 464 before the big "crash" happened. Since then 464 has been nothing but a struggle. I love paraffin, don't get me wrong but I would like to tame this fickle beast that is soy wax!! I love how soy makes bakery scents so much better. Creamier, more realistic...IMO anyway. So yeah I will try this.
  19. I only use LX wicks in Pillars so I can't help with containers but from personal experience and testing the CBL 130 (on it's own) I can recommend Eco Wicks. I tried CD's and Zincs but the Eco's did the best job with amazing throw.
  20. I think it's called "Verona" Amazon has them but they seem to be OOS mostly https://www.amazon.com/Couronne-Company-7117-BL-Verona-Bamboo/dp/B00H5PUNBO
  21. Thanks ErronB! I think I'm gonna chance it and get a case.
  22. Sorry to butt in here but I was wondering if anyone has purchased any since the latest "restock"...and if so...are there any rippling issues like we had before?
  23. Learning and testing NEVER ends! 16 years in now and it still keeps me on my toes. As for the dried botanicals...no. Just no. Anything with an open flame should not be near botanicals. Micas tend to clog wicks. Crystals can shatter. Sadly I also see some suppliers promoting the use of unsafe "enhancements" just to make a sale. I have also noticed that a lot of FB groups have people that sell within a month of starting. Insanity.
