  1. Thanks for the heads up. I plan on using zinc wicks to start with. Love my zincs.
  2. Glad to see some notes on this wax as I am contemplating testing it. My current wax supplier has been out of wax for almost 5 months now. Second time they did that to me and definitely the last! Are you still digging this wax?
  3. "too busy for all that testing" has got to be the MOST ignorant, careless and plain selfish statement ever! Blows my mind!! Whoever thinks they're "too busy" for testing shouldn't even be in this business!
  4. Funny how that works out, eh? LOL It amazes me that someone who literally is still a newbie will argue with someone who is well educated in candlemaking. You can't argue with those who are unwilling to learn and think they already know it all. I've been making candles for close to 20 years and truth be told...I am STILL learning even with the experience I've collected over these last 20 years. The learning NEVER stops. But to me that is the fun part of it all. I also learned to leave those who think they know it all to their own devices.
  5. Don't. Even. Get. Started. On. Facebook. Candlemaking. Groups. 2021 has really been testing my patience. HOLY 💩
  6. I never had any problems with this. I immediately wipe after pouring and use rubbing alcohol for a second wipe down. Then wash wish Dawn (blue) HTH
  7. The 4 lb metal pour pots are useless to me. I use a large pitcher mostly. They come in different sizes. Check US Plastics. https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=115049&catid=682&clickid=popcorn
  8. Yup that's the one. I know of numerous chandlers who also use 4794 for containers. Makes a kick butt candle but since it shrinks it tends to rattle in a container. I think Thompson Candle Co uses it as well.
  9. Bill told me a few years ago that 4794 is used as a base for CBL 129 Makes great candles and the second pour is worth it IMO. It does ripple most of the time for tarts/melts in my experience. I emailed with Bill about this and he suggested adding more oil (FO) which I haven't tried. Apparently when a batch ripples it's on IGI's end with too much of an additive.
  10. The triple butter from CS? Does it lather well? I've been wanting to try it.
  11. Same for me. I'm in CT. Shipping is just a little outrageous with them wanting 28$ let us know how it goes
  12. I'm tempted too. Hate ordering from C&S though.
  13. Yes I see that and can edit it. I was referring to the box on the left hand side where it says Converted right under the Profile box. I guess it moved over from the old forum? this is what's in mine: CONVERTED Makes candles soap b&b Location CT About You I'm a Chandler and Soaper of 9 years. Anti-spam Check american
  14. is there a way to edit that? It still has my old info from years ago when I first joined and needs a update. LOL
  15. I have to agree on Alpine Balsam and Nordic Night. I wasn't impressed. Seems to me they're "run of the mill" kinda scents. I'm almost there with you on the soy or para soy blends....geesh anything soy has been a royal PITA this year for me. I get one step ahead and next burn I fall 8 back. LOL I put all things soy/soy blend away and am working with paraffin blends for the season. My patience is hanging by a string...a teeny tiny, thin, wirey string right now. Blah.
  16. forgot one...Sugared Chestnuts....I love it! It's not sweet like the name would suggest though. It's definitely nutty and you have to get it into some wax to appreciate it's full potential. OOB I wasn't impressed but in wax it's fantastic.
  17. Haven't tried the wax but did try some of the new FO's. The Red Plum Baklava is amazing in paraffin...haven't tested in para soy or straight soy yet. The Ginger & Spice is yummy OOB and I just poured it yesterday. Love the Nordic Light OOB too. Gotta get that poured today. The Alpine Balsam smells like cheap bathroom freshener to my nose so that's a no from me. LOL
  18. I have a slab of it here bit haven't messed with it yet. Personally I refuse to go over 10% in any wax. 10% is pushing it for me. If a wax NEEDS 18% to perform well then it's not for me. If/When I do get around to testing it I will start with 8%.
  19. rule of thumb is if it's dishwasher safe it should be safe for candles camping mugs (enamel ware) make great coffee cup candles too
