  1. I think it smells like soured wine. Ugh.
  2. I was in the Flickers Swap, so there's alot I've sniffed that I really like. But... my fave from Flickers is Citrus & Balsam- Very Christmasy! But would make a good scent for year round. Smells wonderful (even in soap!).
  3. See, and I'm the opposite. lol I don't like apothecaries. I rather the look of jelly jars. I'm not talking from a chandler point of view, because I don't do candles, but from my own personal view and tastes, I like the look of jellies (and masons) compared to apothecaries. I like tin candles too. I have no problems when putting tin candles on my warmer. I usually stick them on there when there's just too little wax left to keep burning with the wick. I like to get all I can outta my tins! I had got a candle in a swap one time, it was a jelly jar with a pewter colored lid (looked antique), I really liked that look!!
  4. I would find something soft and "romantic"... like maybe Sultry Angel from CC or Cashmere & Pearls from BW Or some kind of romantic floral... like Neroli (Orange Blossom), or maybe some kind of Rose? (Rosemilk from SS is my fave rose scent, and I abhor rose scents). Let us know what you find and use!!
  5. For the straight almond for CP... Almond Silk from SS is good. Plus it's non-discoloring too. The only Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey I cp'ed before is Cajun's. Scent held up wonderfully, and had a beautiful brown discoloration.
  6. I bought some Vanilla Stabilizer for MP soaps from WSP a while back. I used it for the first time last night, using the recommended amounts (1 Tablespoon per lb of soap). It has no smell OOB, and my finished soap smelled normal... smelled like the fragrance I used, Sweet Pumpkin (mixed in with some vanilla, yumma yumma yumma!). I sliced a chunk off my MP log to use in the shower last night, and the lather smelled really FUNKY. It didn't smell like Sweet Vanilla Pumpkin at all once the bar was wet. I can't describe the scent, but I can tell you, it just doesn't SMELL NICE. I know it's not my soap base (SFIC), I also made another batch with a different scent (didn't use Vanilla Stabilizer in that one), and that batch smells fine, even the lather smells fine. Anyone else experience this funky smell in your soap using the Vanilla Stabilizer from WSP in MP? Does your soap smell funky after getting it wet and lathering up?
  7. Never seen it before... looks cute!! .... but some stuff looks over the top.... like having scrubs packed a mile high outta the jar....lmao It's ok to have it look this way for pictures (I do the same thing when taking pics of my own scrubs), but GAW!!! Her scrubs look like mountains. Why so high???
  8. Autumn Night? Gosh, astounding. Love it. It draws you in! What scent is it in? Gorgeous soap Jbren!!!
  9. Gorgeous!! Love those colors!!! :highfive: How about Candy Fluff? Candy Dreams? For some reason, those colors remind me of candy. lol
  10. Very nice! Has an Asian flair to it. Did I miss the scent? Hmmm... let me go back and look......
  11. Ok, I'd kill for a bar from this log! lol Sooooooo lovely! I bet it smells fabulous!
  12. Look how pretty! I love it. Keep'em comin' Sharon, you're giving me the inspiration to soap again. :highfive:
  13. oooh it looks soooo purrrty!! Great Job Christine!!! Your swirls do look like mac & cheese! lol But it still looks fabu!
  14. I haven't tried WSP's version, but I have Daystar's version. I'm sticking with Daystar's. I was kinda... eh.... smelling it OOB... but once I put it in body butter.... it was AMAZING. Smells like a lemony pink sugar to me. Very yummy. I have the original Hello Sugar from BBW, and Daystar's smells the same (if not better!!) than the original. If you get WSP's... let us know how it is!!
  15. K, those look stunning! Love that bright orange! Is that TKB's orange? oooh I can't wait to sniff these, that's one of the pro's of being a swap hostess. I'll be first to take a whiff! Woot Woot!!! You did a wonderful job K!!!
  16. Looks sinful! I bet it smells wonderful too! Oh, and Minty Kisses... I love that name!
  17. Looks lovely! Love the funnel look.
  18. These look absolutely divine! I bet that patch and orange smells good!
  19. Very cool looking! Love the way the two colors merge together in the swirl. BW Bayleaf & Black Pepper smells AMAZING in soap, and soaps like a dream.
  20. That's some gorgeous soap! Very inspiring. :highfive:
  21. ooooh Gran! They're all frickin' gorgeous woman! Geez! Talk about soap porn! I bet they smell great! (giving me the inspiration to get off my rear and start soaping again).
  22. Yep, you two make some mean lotions and butters. Very luxurious feeling and oh so lovely to use! I don't think Polawax is waxy either in lotions and butters, but in scrubs, I cannot for the LIFE OF ME get my scrubs to give me that "soft feeling" after rinsing it off my body, I'm always left with a waxy after feeling if I use ewax in my scrubs, that's why I've been stickin' to BTMS. For the people that use ewax/polawax, what % are you using in your scrub recipes?
  23. I'm with Candy on this one. Quality, and packaging, but most importantly... labeling is what I think makes a product look "upscale". I personally like jelly jars, (the plain kind, not the one with the 'writing' on it) and if labeled correctly, I think they could look very upscale. I don't care what color a candle is, colored or white, I have no preference, but if it's presented to me in a pleasing way, it will definitely catch my eye. It's all about presentation. Someone could have a crappy product, but if they present it well (quality packaging and labeling), it will sell, and be considered "upscale".
  24. To me, the glycerin is your culprit. It's a humectant, meaning it's drawing moisture from the air to your skin, in turn giving that "tacky" feeling. How much is your recipe? Is this for one bottle of spray? See, that's why I just stick to cyclo and I'm done with it. lol No mixing.
