I had got interested in OCM a while back. Mostly Lurkin (here on the board) was a real great help to me. I tried it for about three weeks, and I guess my pores were a little more gunked up than I thought... because I just kept breaking out in zits and blackheads constantly for those three weeks. I guess this is called the "purge". lol But it was bad. I thought I was going through puberty again. I couldn't handle it anymore so I quit. Jennie... with 75% castor, it doesn't dry out your skin? The first one I made, I used alot of castor, and I felt like the life was being sucked out of me... too drying. lol Until Mostly Lurkin explained to me that castor is what draws... and too much will make some skin feel like it's been through a wind tunnel. I felt like a dried up prune in a wind tunnel. LOL

Calabrian Bergamot and Violet is my favorite, and it's all I use from there. I don't do candles, but I've smelled it in a candle and it smells wonderful. I've soaped it and it soaps wonderfully with no acceleration/discoloration. Makes a kick ass bar of soap I tell ya.

Yes. You can sub it for any other light oil you may have on hand.

I am with Graceful Hosting. I have to admit... it took me a while to decide to switch to him... because I wasn't sure how things would go. Ya know... he is young... he's trying to handle his own business... plus going to school... I was on the fence at first about switching but I took a leap of faith and jumped in with both feet. I'm glad I took that leap of faith. So far, everything is fine and smooth sailing. The customer service is GREAT. Very polite and courteous...Adam responds to emails in a timely manner (usually in a few hours), and IMO, he goes over and beyond to try to help you any way he can. I am a very happy customer.

Sometimes butters vary from batch to batch and supplier from supplier. I think it's how it's harvested, and when it's harvested... and maybe where it's harvested. I had got some unrefined shea one time from a supplier, and the color was christmas tree green. And it had the smoky smell that unrefined shea usually has, but it was real potent. lol I had to end up using it for soap only. But the feel of that shea straight on your skin was da bomb I tell ya... it was just a little stinky. So IMO, it may not be "bad" per say. If it's bad, you'll know it. It'll have a real funky smell. Peee-uuuu.

Ditto. I've tried KY's version and Just Scents version. While JS's version smells very nice, KY's is better. I keep going back to KY for it, even though that's the only FO I buy from there.

Thanks for all the wonderful compliments. As for the smooth look, I really think it's the molds. I did nothing different. Used my same recipe, plopped them in the freezer for a few minutes, and they just dropped out the molds, with smooth looking tops. I used to HATE doing these, because I would sit there with the bowl and actually roll a little bit at a time into balls... sooooooo time consuming. But since I got these molds, I like doing them again! lol The only thing is wrapping them now. lol That's another time consuming thing.

I haven't posted pictures in a while (I've been in my own little world...lol), so decided to share a few. Got my new molds from Get Suckered and I love them! I've been doing fizzy bath bars and truffles with them... the bath bars are easy to use, you just break a piece off to add to your bath. Blanc Noel Fizzy Bath Bar Chocolate Amber Fizzy Bath Bar added a little bit of bling bling to the tops... Fizzy Bath Truffles-the molds I used are the perfect size for a truffle (brushed the tops with glitter on these too) Thanks for looking!

Peppermint Vanilla is nice. Yes, it can be used as candy cane. It's just not an "in yo face" strong mint. It's strong, but not overpowering, with a dash of vanilla. It's very nice. Haven't tried the Holly Jolly Christmas, so I can't help ya there, Miss P.O. Lady.

Got one like this sometime last year, but mine was from Japan. I deleted it. Never heard from them again. It's bogus.

I use SW Dragon's Blood. (no candles, just B&. Very strong, I'd say to cut back to less than 1 oz. PP in soap... yes, it's that strong. This is the best Dragon's Blood I've ever smelled. But that's just my opinion.

Eewwww. Mouse Traps. That would kinda freak me out. I got one in the other day... The box said Medical/Surgical Supplies, and the label on the side said Gastric Lap Bands. lol

I slice mine open to expose the seeds/beans inside, then I infuse in vodka ... bean pod and all. But since you're posting in the soap section...lol I assume you want to infuse oil, not vodka (silly me!).

Have you tried The Candlesource? He has a nice egg nog. Not sure about the FP though.

Congrats on the new addition Jeff! I'm sorry to hear that you're taking a break from making those awesome molds, but if that's what ya gotta do... then hey... do what makes ya happy. It's hard when you have a family to take care of, plus work... plus doing everything a father/husband/man of the house is required of... Family comes first. I think you made a very wise decision. Kudos to you my friend.

Has anyone tried this in B&B? What's your take on it? Dead on dupe?
